Alyce

The pulsating aura surrounding him was heavy and scary, making Luke wonder what the problem was. They both walked in the silent hall leading to the ward the girl was in.

"What was her reason for not agreeing to it." Alexander asked Luke with seriousness in his tone.

"She told me nothing, she only insisted on seeing you." Luke replied.

Alex only nodded. They had already arrived by the door. Gently, Luke pushed it open and they got in.

Alex expected to see her sleeping by now, after all she was always on a drip. But instead she was wide awake, staring intently outside the window like the was something interesting going on there, something only she could see.

With a deep clear of his throat, he got her attention. She slowly turn towards him after getting notice of his presence.

"How are you?" He asked her.

With only a simple nod, she responded.

Alex didn't give in much but went straight to the point. "I heard you rejected the compensation. I will like to know the reason for that." He said, his expression had already changed to a serious one, with his hands in his pockets– as usual.

"Sir." She finally let out something, eliciting a raised brow from Alex. This time she was looking at him as she spoke.

"Even if you compensate me with such huge sum, it still won't help me regain my memories. I still know no one. I'm not blaming you for hitting me, I too am at fault, maybe I wasn't crossing carefully. But right now, I don't know who I am, where do I start? I did a place to start." She continued gently with a soft voice that sounded sweet to listen to.

Meanwhile, Alex fixed his gaze steadily on her, he was as expressionless as ever, it was as if he wasn't the one being spoken to.

After a long silence between them, he said. "Fine, what do you want, I will help you."

Hearing this, she felt like her lost hope was revived. She swung her head which was hung low, up to him. For the first time ever since he had seen her, she had a relaxed expression. She didn't smile, but the radiant look in her eyes was enough for one to notice that the is a difference.

"Sir, I.. I." She seemed hesitant.

With a quick look at his watch, Alex glanced back at her. "I don't have time." He told her.

Nodding quickly she finally spoke up. "Can..you give me a job."

It was an awkward silence. To further clarify things she elaborated more. "I didn't mean, an office job or the one that required education. I don't know my level of education so anything will do, I can take care of your garden, do the dishes, clean and cook, maybe help with babysitting your children."

At the landing of her words, fits of coughs escaped from Luke who was standing behind Alexander, earning a sharp glare from him. He immediately became petrified.

The innocent girl who didn't know what she just said, looked at him with expectations in her eyes.

Alex ingnored his assistant and placed his attention soley on her. "You want a job."

She nodded.

After some seconds of silence, he looked like he was considering something. With a sigh he finally spoke. "Fine, I'll give you a job. You will work in my residence as maid."

"That's fine with me." Without waiting for him to complete his statement, she replied with haste.

Something like a smile appeared on her face, but it was obvious she was holding it in.

Alex raised a brow at her. He nodded. "Okay, once you get discharged later today. You can start, it's okay if you will want to take a rest for your recovery…."

"The is no need for that Sir." She outrightly refused, cutting between his words.

"A name."

"Huh?" She asked in confusion.

"You don't remember you name, do you?"

"Oh, no sir."

"fine, I'll give you one." He told her, making her face brighten with happiness.

For some seconds, he seemed to be thinking about something, after a while, he threw his gaze at her.

"Alyce." He mentioned.

"That's your name, Alyce."

"...Alyce." She repeated, as if testing it, it rolled smoothly from her tongue, she repeated it like two more times. She smiled, for the first time since she was admitted, infact, to her it should be considered her first smile.

Obviously she liked it. And didn't hesitate to say it out. "I love it." She said, smiling radiantly with joy.

The scene was pretty and memorizing, even Luke couldn't help but smile too.

Her innocent smile was enough to move the coldest of hearts. But oh no! He was wrong.

Alex remained frost-like as ever. His expression didn't falter one bit, not even a slight shift.

He had always thought that his Master was void of all feelings, he always considered him as a robotic being. Now he knew he was right, because seeing such a scene who would not be moved? Well he knew the answer. Alexander Luen!.

'Master you can't be helped.' He mused mentally with a sigh, as he shook his head sideways repeatedly.

"Fine. If there's nothing else, I'll be leaving." He immediately turned to head for the door.

"Thank you."

He paused a little before stepping out completely.

He was gone. The silence in the ward was retained.

At that, she was happy, she had finally gotten her problem soughted. Truthfully she had thought of ways that she was going to bring this up. Because she knew no one else could help her except from him.

Her mind had been burgled up with those thoughts. Now she couldn't wait to get discharged.

One more reason of joy, her name, she didn't know what her previous name was but now, she cared no more. She liked this present one, Alyce… It brought more smiles to her face.

She carefully and gently, laid on her bed, with a happy smile still present. She slowly closed her eyes awaiting the evening, so she could finally get discharged and leave the four walls of this hospital ward.
