There was only one place you wanted to be. You ran all the way to medical trying to get far away from confriattion. You bursted into lisa's room

Jisoo: morning y/n

You gritted your teeth

Jisoo: what is wrong you look angry

You:...

Try more like seething

Jisoo: have you eaten

You looked at her pissed at her bringing memories.

Jisoo: by that look I am guessing you have met the boys. I knew them not telling you and you finding out like this would be bad. i tried to warn them but they wouldn't listen

You: what else do I not know huh. what are you keeping from me.

You yelled at her

Jisoo: calm down it's not like that. And what ever those boys say isnt true they are bullies.

That set you on fire. So many people telling you things and the one person who you trust wouldn't talk to you.

You: his rations never cut, only room, he's a pervert, unapproved runs, got a bunch of people killed, he doesn't do anything, yet he is the leader… that sounds pretty bad don't you think

You paced back and forth. You just wanted to punch something. You had no idea why you were angry. Usually you were a very calm person but since meeting him your angry more often than not

Jisoo: okay well a few of those things have some truth

You glared at her

You: tell me the truth then… everything don't leave a thing out

Jisoo: he should be the one to tell me

You laughed more out of sarcasm

You: all this information being given and I don't even know what to think so of course if I could ask him I would. Did you know that's where I just came from just now

Jisoo: and your angry

you: he just pushed all of my buttons you know

Jisoo: what did he say

You: he was busy to even talk. I dont think I can do things by your guy's ways I want to go back.

Jisoo: hey he will talk when he has time dont jump to conclusions okay

You: I don't have a good feeling about this place. It's better if I go back I did what i came here to do lisa is fine and will keep getting better. But I want to go back

Jisoo: please just give me a chance

You: tell me then or I want them to take me back to that hospital

Jisoo: they would never take you back even if I didn't tell you

You: then I will leave on my own. I will find a way.

You were serious but you didn't understand why you were so mad. You felt betrayed yet he doesn't owe you anything

Jisoo: okay chanyeol created this place for him and suho… suho is in charge of the majority though because chanyeol doesn't like the pressure of decisions… but he runs all the security and runs, while taking part in minimal decision making… so he makes as much rations as suho does but he doesn't use all of it he uses about as much as everyone else because who really needs all those rations, he gives the rest away at the end of a period all those ration boosts everyone constantly gets before it goes back to normal during the month. It it because of him but he doesn't tell the people

You: why wouldn't he tell people

Jisoo; they wouldn't believe him even if he did. They all hate him for one reason or another.

You: how would you know all this you just work in the medical bay

Jisoo: me and suho are… well we are dating have been for a long time

She blushed. how could I not see it how worried she was about his health earlier

Jisoo: runs have been pretty much banned by suho because one of the times chanyeol took a team to a store there was an accident and the roof caved in dead fell in through the hole to make it even worse… only half the team returned… a lot of people blamed chanyeol because the run could have waited… now we only go when we are in need… but chanyeol doesn't listen he usually goes by himself… he does get in trouble not public… he hates being out in public… this all causes lots of misconceptions but chanyeol hates when we speak out for him he would rather people talk about what they don't know then be recognized

You: that is bullshit how can he just let people do this

His words came back to you they don't rely on me… he meant the people and suho

Jisoo: as long as they are safe he doesn't care

You: how does one just not care

Jisoo: after awhile you get use to it

They seem to have been going through this for a while

You: the breach

Jisoo: chanyeol was out on a run

You: one not sanctioned

Jisoo: it was allowed we were in need of medicine… kids were getting sick and dying

You: and while they were gone the breach happened

Jisoo: yes it was on a wall that we were expanding a worker forgot to close it and the noise drew in dead like usual… they blamed head of security for not stopping it not checking the doors

You: but he wasn't here it should have been the one working that side of the fencing or the one put in charge while he was gone

Jisoo: people do what they want… so we ended up with a lot of injured and dead… the ground we were gonna expand to now is a cemetery. You can visit it if you would like.

You: so suho banned runs all together because of it the injuries and the breach

Jisoo: because he wanted to repair everything to be secure first so we didn't have another accident...

You: but chanyeol left anyway

Chanyeol: Lisa couldn't wait. Suho had decided to pull her plug. I was leaving Rose and Baekhyun decided to tag along. She knew Suho would be forced to wait until she was back because they were cousins and Suho wouldn't deny her the chance to say goodbye. I was a huge risk she could have been wrong and missed her chance to say goodbye. But I'm glad we left without permission and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

jisoo got quiet...

Chanyeol: can you leave us jisoo

She stood and left the room. You started checking on lisa ignoring him

Chanyeol: I heard about the magic you did with her…

You didn't say anything and continued to pretend and do things so you didn't have to look at him… you were good at pretending to check vitals. You did it a lot to ignore coworkers. It never worked because well doctors...

Chanyeol: I should have told you I broke rules, I shouldn't have ignored you, I should have told you how these people felt about me. It was wrong… but I'm not sorry… because everything i do is for the good of my people. I make the decisions that save people like Lisa who didn't stand a chance or you who was dying in that room. and now even more people with the right medical treatment you provide. Then we can start using the rations we have more wisely and go on less medical runs putting less peoples lives on the line

I stopped and just looked at lisa. He did save me leaving without permission even if it wasn't his original intention and Lisa is going to be saved now hopefully.

Chanyeol: kai hates me… his girlfriend was on the run with us and he lost her… convinced everyone it was my fault… I could have fought with him about it but that wouldn't change what people think… they never can see their ignorance...

I looked at him

Chanyeol: it wasn't intentional to keep it from you at first … I was gonna tell you but i didn't know how to. How you do you start a conversation like that. " hey just so you know before we walk in this place i said it was safe that every person hates my guts and will try and convince you to even though i haven't done anything besides get my whole team killed". Suho and I figured to do it when you met with suho for your work assignment… which we figured out that was an easy one… you're gonna have to wait for rations though since we are making accommodations for everything just brought and things used. and since it's my responsibility you can use mine… because of rules or Rose said you can use hers if you're more comfortable with that…

I glared at him

Chanyeol: I know you don't care about rations yet… But they are a big thing and we are largely based on them… and i swear if kai hadn't told you i would have… he looks for whatever way he can to get back at me… so this once don't trust him and if he causes anymore problems just tell me when i am available and i will put a stop to him and the doubts you have about me

You: you don't have to explain to me… i have work to do

I turned away from him again. He grabbed my wrist and spun me around to face him

Chanyeol: that's all… you're not gonna yell at all you seemed angry back there

You: because I hate when people talk about me like i am not there my whole life has been like that and I can't stand it… so I lashed out… i have realised the rest of my anger was meaningless after calming down… when i get worked up i just need to vent that is the only way to get rid of it. I am sorry

He smiled

Chanyeol: you don't have to be sorry… sorry is an excuse… if you did something stick with your action they may be wrong and you can say they are but don't be sorry for them… and i figured you lash out a lot… back there… in the car... at the gate

You: I hate when people take their life for granted especially at a time like this… if you really feel like no one depends on you just go join the dead… see if it is true or not

He frowned… why do i sound angry when i'm not why can't i just say that i understand and he has nothing to worry about

Chanyeol: I think that has changed…

You: now you are just playing me

Chanyeol: No but I think there is someone I have depending on me now

You: I think your wrong

He pouted

You: your not sorry so you have nothing to apologise for so i have nothing to forgive

He hugged you which left you in shock...

I looked down and say lisa's eyes open

You: your awake

I squealed

Lisa: chanyeol your girlfriend is truly something else

Chanyeol started laughing and I went serious

You: were not dating

Chanyeol: I'm gonna go get Rose she will be happy to hear your up

He walked out the door laughing…. I finished running health tests on Lisa. She woke sooner than I thought she would. Honestly when I told them a week I was trying to give them hope I really thought it would be another month. I stepped back and watched rose catch up with her

Lisa: when did you and baekhyun start dating

Rose: as soon as you went into the hospital

Lisa: couldn't wait until I was better

Baekhyun: It took you 2 weeks. How could I wait that long. I needed her and she needed me

He hugged Rose and Lisa cringed. She hates lovie couples. I like her more and more couple stuff is disgusting… she then looked at me

Lisa: so doctor how long until I am out of this bed

Rose: you just woke

Lisa: well i hate hospitals… no offense

You: none taken most people do… tomorrow I need to clean your lungs then do a blood test… if you heal right from the cleaning and the test come back clean along with brain capacity test you can leave in a week

Lisa: a week can't i skip and get back out there

You: unless you want to see me again i would wait

She laughed. There was a knock on the door suho and jisoo walked in

Suho: I heard the good news that you woke

Lisa: I heard that you were ready to kill me brother

You: brother

Rose: they are brothers and sisters…

You: and you were gonna kill your own sister

Suho: I was thinking about my people. We couldn't last much longer if she continued to waste resources and the people would riot because I was favoring her. Tensions were already high.

Lisa: wow and this is why I would rather be Rose's sister than yours

Jisoo: let's just focus on the future people

They blew past that like it was nothing

You: let me get this straight. Lisa and Suho are all siblings and Rose is your cousin

You: and Suho is dating jisoo and Rose is dating baekhyun

You: is there anything else in your family dynamic that I should know

My head began to spin as they laughed

You: then how does chanyeol play into all this

Suho: ah I met chanyeol in highschool and have been friends ever since. After the world fell he helped me protect my family

Lisa: not that I needed help I was good on my own

Rose: they created this place and the first people they brought in was baekhyun and jisoo

Baekhyun: we were hiding out in a run down warehouse barely making it by

Jisoo: you were doing your best yes… we had a pretty big group including kai and his girlfriend. They were family. It was a sad day when we lost her. She was my best friend. She is actually buried out back

You: and you don't hate chanyeol you were close to her

Jisoo: it wasn't his fault… even if we didn't need the supplies his thinking was correct and everyone knows the dangers of a run

You nodded your head. They all know the dangers… the world is full of them even if you think you are safe. There will always be internal and external dangers. Out there the dead and in here the ones that we call friends and family. After checking lisa you went and got to know all your other patients creating files for them. Hopefully by next week you could get a medical file on everyone in this building even if they are not sick… you were sitting at a desk reading your next emergency case when there was a knock

Chanyeol: your shift is over

You: yeah

Chanyeol: we should get you your bedding and a couple of outfits to wear

You: i am okay with whatever you pick

He walked around and began reading over your shoulder

Chanyeol: na heun she has been having seizures and a fever

You: since I am a surgeon I have only studied wounds. I don't most sicknesses

Chanyeol: ah

You: but before becoming one i assisted the doctor at my town hospital there was this boy who got so sick with a fever than he began to seize

Chanyeol: what happened

You: the seizures killed him but the seizure was brought on by the fever. If this is the same then if we get the fever down the seizing should stop most likely

Chanyeol: jisoo has been trying everything to get it down

You: we will start with an ice bath tomorrow and then iv bags and

Chanyeol: she doesn't have rations

You: take it out of mine when i start to earn

Chanyeol: you won't be able to live if you give them to your patients. Use mine I gave you mine for a reason.

You: thank you

You kept reading her file

Chanyeol: finish that tomorrow let's go and get the shopping down so we can have dinner

You: I have an even busier day tomorrow. I have to clean Lisa's lungs which means I will have to put her under and then i have to still do patient checks and i am gonna start a file for everyone living here which means i need a list of everyone who does live here. And i will start writing the medical knowledge i do have to help jisoo out when i am not here… and

Chanyeol: calm down, don't overload yourself, take it slow. I will ask suho for the list anything else i can do for you i will

You: thanks that's a start

Chanyeol: let's go

He took the papers and set them down grabbing your hand and pulling you.

Chanyeol: we call this warehouse the shopping mall.

It was a huge packed place with people walking around and buying things. It may take me 3 weeks to get everyone done

Chanyeol: let's get started shall we

He grabbed a cart and walked around

Chanyeol: what should we get

You: the necessities lotion, soap, deodorant, toothbrush and paste, razor, towel, washrag, a couple pairs of clothes, blanket, and pillow. That should be about all

Chanyeol: is that all

You: if it's too much we can get rid of a few things like…

Chanyeol: I was kidding. I actually think that list might be too little… what about new shoes, perfume, books, do you like to draw

He began walking off. He took you to many booths, he tried to get so many things for you that you didn't need you had to refuse almost everything. By the end you were so tired you realised why you hated shopping and never went

Chanyeol: is this everything

You: yes

You shouted

Chanyeol: okay okay… let's got get you set up

He held everything walking back to the room. He then began rearranging and set everything up. He wouldn't even let me help. So i just sat and watched when he finished everything looked amazing

You: you did an amazing job chanyeol

Chanyeol: thanks. You could have gotten a more colorful blanket you know

You: i like white and it goes better with the room

You got up and started to hang the clothes. It was just 6 outfits that was the minimum you could get away with and the max you would let him get

You: I can't sit around

You then took the rest of the stuff to the bathroom and began putting them on the shelf. Chanyeol then yelled

Chanyeol: i realized something we didn't get

You walked back in the room leaning against the door

You looked down.

You: i don't need any

Chanyeol: what are you gonna sleep in then

You: well tonight this and usually i spend much of my time my shifts back in the hospital ran late at night so i never needed them and i would pick up shifts in the morning.

Chanyeol: well you won't have late shifts here

You: being the only medically certified person here i'm sure i will. Jisoo has been doing and has basic knowledge but there are things she will need to learn. Teaching her will take even more time and I can't do during shifts leaving night to teach and come up with lessons.

Chanyeol: you are really detailed… don't burn out

You: I am just getting back in my groove. And I never burn out. Not even after my 22 hour shifts. Which reminds me I should also start a class for more nurses. You are passed the capacity for nurse/doctor to patient ratio. Do you think others would volunteer or switch jobs to be

Chanyeol: of course and it sounds like a lot of work you have ahead of you

You: i should make a list tonight so i don't forget anything
