Chapter 23 - Beginning of The Battle

Currently, outside the Li Clan's estate stood at least 500 plus cultivators dressed in red who were filled with killing intent.

They stood patiently at the entrance as if they were waiting for something.

"Young master, why had we not informed patriarch before all this, so that he could get prepared?" Little Liu's face was currently painted with confusion as she stared deeply at the scene in front of her with a pale complexion.

"I know father, he would certainly not believe in me," Li Yu who was beside her replied, his face filled with paleness.

At this moment, Li Yu, Little Liu, and at least hundreds of figures who had shocked speechlessly when they realized their bosses identities stood in a deep and hidden corner, watching the crowd in their front fearfully.

Li Yu and Little Liu had gone to the shadow guard's headquarters earlier.

They had met with all the warriors and assassins and had introduced themselves.

The shadow guard's members almost couldn't believe that the useless young master Li that had been receiving the ridicule of the world since he was born would turn out not to be ordinary, and was their big boss.

It was also at that moment that they realized their organization belongs to the future patriarch of one of the most powerful clans in the Xuan Empire.

They had all been deeply excited for a long time which later died down when they realized its time for them to be put into use, which might take their lives.

Old Qīpiàn had been the most shocked one out of them.

He had never in his entire life thought that the person who had trained him and he had acknowledged as his master would turn out to be the maid of a waste everybody had known.

Old Qīpiàn had always thought that the person who had trained him must not be from the Xuan Empire, as there was no such influential person.

Back to Li Clan's Estate, at the entrance.

Li Yu and his gang had secretly gathered here since evening, patiently waiting for their enemies to arrive.

They had all thought the enemies they would be facing would only contain a few cultivators, so they were immediately scared out of their wits when they saw the army filled with cultivators.

"Ma- master, boss- boss, are you sure we can handle these men?" Old Qīpiàn muttered nervously.

Hearing the question that was in their minds mind spoken out, the figures behind them couldn't help but look at both Li Yu and Little Liu hopefully.

"Are you planning on turning back?!" Little Liu questioned coldly while emitting killing intent which was focused fully on Old Qīpiàn.

"No, no master, I dare not turn back!!!!"

"It's okay," Li Yu patted Little Liu's shoulder gently, which made her withdraw all her killing intentions but not before giving the old man a final cold look behind her expressionless face mask.

Li Yu who also was not expecting to see a scene like this was mostly shocked, as he knew how few the cultivators in this empire were.

In an empire where even a ninth-level qi gathering realm cultivation would be treated like a god, where would one see such a crowd of them at a time?

'I need to calm down, will I who would not give even a Nascent Soul Realm cultivator a glance in my last life fear a group of Qi gathering realm and foundation establishment realm?" Li Yu began to calm himself in his mind.

"Don't worry guys, we would not be doing most of the work, all we need to do now is to alert the people inside the estate," Li Yu said slowly, trying to calm the tension within the crowd.

"Oh….."

And as he hoped, the tensions within the crowd began to calm down slowly.

Li Yu smirked slightly when he felt this.

"Do we still have the alert fireworks with us?" He asked quietly.

"Yes master, we do." Little Liu responded emotionlessly.

"What of that little stone I gave you earlier, is it still with you?"

"Yes, master."

Li Yu had found the little stone which had collected dirt for many years within the Cold Palace Armory some days ago.

He had picked it up and cleaned it, then he kept it. He had never thought it would be put to use very quickly.

"Great."

Li Yu nodded his head happily while the tension in him completely disappeared.

"I think those guys are waiting for someone to open the gate for them from inside, Little Liu," Li Yu called out gently.

"Hope you remember all the orders I've given you and all the plans we've made earlier?"

"Yes, young master."

And like that, Li Yu, Little Liu, and the shadow guards member began to wait patiently for the group in their fronts to react.

"Ta... Ta… Ta…"

Li Yu and his gang who had been watching unblinkingly suddenly heard a soft sound within the silent night.

The sound was made by the leader of the other party that stood at the forefront outside the estate gates.

Another moment of tension began to cover them as they realized that the real game was just about to begin.

And as they had thought, the two huge gates were suddenly pulled open by a maniac-looking man.

Li Yu and his guards watched unblinkingly as the crowds enter the estate.

"Now!!!" Li Yu commanded urgently.

Little Liu who had been on alert since the very beginning immediately took out a small black stone from within her pocket, she held the stone tightly in her palm and began to channel her qi energy into it.

In no time, she raised the stone to Li Yu's lips.

Li Yu who had also been waiting impatiently hurriedly opened his mouth, and coming from it was;

"THE LI CLAN HAS INVADED BY MEN IN RED!!! THE LI CLAN IS BEING INVADED MEN IN RED!!!"

The shout was so loud and sudden that had alerted everybody within the Xuan capital city.

Everybody who was sleeping peacefully in their houses was shocked awake when they heard the loud voice.

"What was that noise?"

"The- the Li Clan of the Xuan Empire was being attacked?!"

"How is that possible?"

Everybody in the capital city was deeply stunned speechlessly when they heard the topic of the loud noise.

Different powers and individuals began to exit their houses and head in the direction of the Li clan's estate.

At this moment, Li Zhiqiang who was still in his study, and just rounding up his work was suddenly shocked when he heard the shout.

"F*CK!!!! WHICH BASTARDS ARE THOSE THAT DARED INVADE MY LI CLAN ESTATE?!"

Deep killing intents began to ooze out from Li Zhiqiang's body, he dropped the book in his hand and jumped to his feet, and rushed out of his study.

"DESCENDANT, WARRIORS, GUARDS, AND INSTRUCTORS THAT HAD REACHED THE MINIMUS OF WI GATHERING REALM, ITS TIME TO DEFEND OUR TERRITORY!!!!!"

Li Zhiqiang screamed at the top of his lungs.

When all the members of the Li Clan that had been awoken by the first scream earlier heard their patriarch's order, they immediately dumped all the unnecessary thoughts in their minds.

They jumped on their feet and changed into their fight mood.

Back at the Clan's entrance.

The cultivators that had been extremely excited about their easy entry into the estate were deeply shocked at the moment when they heard the shout.

They couldn't believe that the mission they had thought would be finished easily and quietly would actually accompany such a cast when they had not even begun.

"Have we entered a trap?"

"Who could have done such a thing?!"

"Have we been under surveillance since the beginning?!"

The crowd was filled with so many questions at the moment that they began to become disordered.

"Let's leave first, we need to leave here before it becomes crowded ASAP!" The leader shouted urgently.

Immediately after they heard the order, the members that had already begun to feel deep fear immediately turned back to leave, then 'Piu… Piu…. Piu…."

Arrows after arrows began to collide with the people at the back.

"Enemies at the back!!!"

"Our path has been blocked!!"

"This is a trap!!!"

Different screams began to be heard.

"Time to fight…"

The crowds which had not been expecting this at all immediately became extremely disordered.

"Shoot!!!!"

Old Qīpiàn screamed at the top of his lungs, then another series of shots could be seen.

Although the power of the arrows was not strong to the extent that it would kill 4th qi gathering realm cultivators and above, it could still kill those below which were the majority within them, the arrows could also cause fatal injuries to the 4th qi realm cultivators and above, depending on how strong their physiques were.

And like so, the war began.
