It's been months since that happened, and it was not the first time either. After that day, he goes on patrolling the village and even the forest to search for monsters and kill them.
If they are strong enough, Cao Cao will use a sneak attack and if they're not, he confronts them head on. This is how he fights.
Despite fighting and eliminating monsters. He still hadn't met Sun Wukong, wasn't this his job? He should be the one exterminating monsters, not him.
Or was it because he killed the monsters that Sun Wukong didn't bother trying.
"DIE HUMAN!" A lizard-like monster lunged itself towards him.
Cao Cao dodged to the side and summoned his spear.
"W-What is that holy aura?!" The creature muttered in awe and panic. He had met some exorcist but this is the first time he felt such a strong holy aura!
"Dunno, why not ask it?" Cao Cao pointed his spear at the lizard.
The lizard creature panicked. It wants to get out of here now!
Seeing the creature about to run away, he immediately extended his spear towards it.
*Stabbed*
"What?!" The spear stabbed its foot. Despite only hitting a non vital part, the burning sensation can be felt throughout its body.
"Smoking? I see now, you're a stray." This is the first time he saw someone being affected by his spear so much. At most, he needs to hit them on a vital part for them to feel the burning pain but this? A non lethal hit almost killed this creature in front of him?
No doubt, this is a Stray Devil.
From what he remembers, Stray Devils are former reincarnated devils that mutated due to their masters not keeping their powers in check. It is something that has to do with the Evil Piece inside them.
"IT BURNS! AHHHHHHH!" The lizard creature keeps squirming in pain.
"Hmm?" Snapping back his attention to the lizard, he retracted his spear and swung it on its head killing him.
Just like that, the lizard Stray Devil was reduced to nothingness with no ashes remaining.
The 7 yr old Cao Cao sighed. It wasn't that strong but hey, experience.
"What's with the face, young man?" A playful voice snapped him back from reality.
Immediately jumping back, Cao Cao took a stance. He didn't notice the person just now!
"Don't be jumpy, I was just wondering who's cleaning the rats here and look behold, a Hero Descendant with a Sacred Gear is here." Looking at the person in front of him he can only say one thing.
Monkey.
The monkey in front of him isn't the same that he saw in the zoo in his past life. His golden fur and buddhist clothes says a lot about who he is.
Even if he's short as fuck.
"Boy, are you thinking something rude about me?" The Monkey raised his eyebrows in his blindfold.
"U-Um nothing!" Cao Cao took a step back while still holding his Sacred Gear.
"What's your name, boy?" The Monkey ignored his actions and took a pipe out of… nowhere?
"Cao Cao, that's my name umm …?" Although he already knows who this monkey might be, he still wants to make sure.
"Taking the name of your ancestor huh? As for your question, I'm what you people know as the Monkey King." Blowing his pipe, The Monkey King introduced himself.
"Sun Wukong.." Cao Cao sucked his breath. He finally met him. The Great Sage Equaling Heaven!
"Yup, that's me. But it doesn't matter now, See you kid and nice stick by the way." The Monkey King summoned his cloud Kinto-un and was about to fly away.
"W-Wait!" Summoning up his courage, Cao Cao called the Monkey King.
"Hmm?" Sun Wukong looked at the kid who dispelled his Sacred Gear.
'It's all or nothing.'
Taking a deep breath, Cao Cao kneeled and summoned his spear in his right hand, performing an action similar to that of a knight.
"Please take me under your wing!"
"Why?" Looking at the kneeling kid in front of him, Sun Wukong blew his pipe and asked.
"I want to become strong." The Hero Descendant replied.
"You misunderstand, why would I take you as my pupil? I already have a descendant you know." The Daiyoukai explained.
"I-I…." Cao Cao took a deep breath and pushed his feet away.
"It's because I want to become stronger and protect people like me, people who found themselves unfortunate in the world of the supernatural, I want to create a group where they can join and feel a sense of belonging." That's what he wanted to do. Maybe it's because of the hero's blood within him or his own personal view of the world but that's what he wanted to do.
To protect people like him.
Sun Wukong looked at the kid who just revealed his ambition in front of him and summoned his staff Ryu Jingu Bang.
"What..?" Cao Cao saw this but didn't get the chance to reply as the Monkey King swung his stuff in his direction.
Without hesitation, he used his spear to block the incoming staff and was sent flying on a tree.
*Crash!*
'What a weight..' Cao Cao picked himself up wobbly. The weight of that staff is no joke!
As he was about to summon his spear and prepare for an attack. He heard the Monkey King laugh.
"Shishishishishi, I'm not gonna lie brat, that was some impressive reflexes, is that a trait you inherit from your ancestor?" Dispelling his staff, Sun Wukong asked Cao Cao.
"I—." Before he can speak. The Buddha cut him off.
"Fine, you can be my disciple but be warned, I'm the Great Victorious Fighting Buddha and I won't go easy on you." The Monkey King stopped laughing and gave the Hero Descendant a warning.
Hearing this, Cao Cao's eyes brightened up. He did it! He was accepted!
"What are you staring at boy? Do you expect me to carry you or what?" The Monkey King asked while grinning.
"... Can I visit my parents first?" It's time to say goodbye but he doesn't want to just disappear out of nowhere. In the end, he still took care of him for 7 years.
"You can, don't make me wait for too long, brat." The Daiyoukai gave him permission.
Without wasting time, he hurriedly ran to his parents house, although they were struggling in poverty, he still wanted to say his goodbyes.
Looking at the running Cao Cao getting farther away from him, Sun Wukong blew his pipe and muttered.
"The Chinese Warlord with the Strongest Longinus?" Heh, what's with this generation?"
He wondered, has this been foresaw by Sakra? Well, only time would tell.
