It has the ability create life as thought it was a measly feat. With its power it can destroy worlds and create civilisations. It exists everywhere, where you step, what you see and what you breath is part of it. One can say it's not only omniscient and omnipotent, but omnipresent as well. But what is It? A deity? No, it's a dungeon. ... A young man from earth has found himself reincarnated as a dungeon. In this new world, he is now but a child. Armed with nothing else but his genius creation capability, come watch him as he struggles to survive this world where his kind are treated as nothing but tools. "Hmm? Another group of adventurers is sent to close me down?" He laughed. "Clearly, they didn't understand when i killed all of their armies... wait, that boy has a good looking soul. Why don't I turn him into a slime?" From the deepest pits of the dungeons, terrifying creatures awoke as they had been ordered by the creature they live in. Be the strongest dragons living in the deepest levels of the dungeon, to the weakest goblins only known for being cannon fodder. Each of these creatures got up to greet the newcomer, because he ordered them to.
"Hmm, crossbows should work. As long as they are far from the dunegon portal, they should be the best attack method against the kobolds."
As crossbows could be considered to be mechanical objects that use first order energy, it will not work so well in ether condensed places.
As said before, second order energy overules first order energy. If the first order energy use is simple like a mere bow and arrow or just everyday kinetic energy use, there is really no problem. But once complex uses of energy are combined, that's when the trouble starts.
Something called first order and second order collision will occur. Which is the collision of the two types of energy forms.
A phone for instance would likely just turn off directly during the collision. While a gun may be able to shoot, it is more likely to jam most of the time after one. That is if it does not explode in the user's face. As for a crossbow, although it too could be considered a simple constructs, it is not enough to escape from first and second order collision.
Leading to accidents like bow misfire and arrow breaking being common. Which could be greatly fatal in a war.
That was why the child opted to get a few goblins using bows rather than getting a few crossbow torrents.
"So a few crossbows should be of good use. The only problem would be, what would carry the crossbows?"
It is the same problem as the last with the hob-goblins, they are too heavy for a hob-goblin to carry them in the long term.
"So that still leaves me with normal goblins. Wow... I never thought that normal goblins will one day have an actual use other than being cannon fodder."
So with that thought, the child's advantages were laid out.
Information and technology.
While the child was constantly contemplating on the way foward, he failed to notice as the time slowly yet quickly passed. And before he knew it, it was already morning. And had something else of interest not happened, the child could have not noticed it as the new day passed by.
"Its awake?"
The child's vision instantly shifted towards somewhere far in the forest.
Lying on the muddy ground, the green skinned creature slowly came out of its slumber.
It's body was paining all over and it was completely covered in mud. The creature took off the helmet that may hinder its breathing and vision so that it could get a good look at where it truly was.
The creature was surprised to find that it was no longer in the forest from last night. What was in front of it was instead a forest of what seems like giant mushrooms.
"The hobgoblin seem to have discovered an interesting place. Luckily, it isn't too far."
The green skinned creature, that is the hobgoblin seems to have washed up to an unknown place of this world. Last night, after it had fallen down the cliff, the hobgoblin had fallen to a stream of flowing water.
This was of course part of the child's plan. But even he didn't know where the river goes, so at that moment he ordered the hobgoblin to jump, he was mostly just gambling. As, if the hobgoblin didn't jump, it would have died anyway. It was better off leaving its survival to an uncertain fate than to a certain yet fatal one.
And it seems his gamble paid off. As the hobgoblin has survived. Although injured and bruised all over, as long as there is life, what can't the child fix?
"But what should I order it to do now? Exploration or immediate return?"
The benefits of immediate return are apparent. With the goblins discovered by the kobolds, a war is basically near. Each hobgoblin is valuable source of power. Power he currently lacks.
The only uncertainty with this is the journey back. It could be dangerous and may end with the hob-goblin's death. Along the way, it may be found out by the enemy.
As for exploration, it's affect aren't immediate, but they could be useful through the long run. It all depends on what he could find in this new land. Who knows, maybe he could find another kobold pack or predator that can threaten the kobolds. As long as he could get them to attack the kobolds or start a war between the two, it could but him some time until his preparation are ready.
"Hmm, But that's unlikely to happen. If it was a goblin, I could have let it be, but hobgoblin is too precious to be left on a useless post like this."
So the child decided to call the hobgoblin back. Maybe when all the possible mayhem calms down will he get the chance to sent one of his gremlins over to explore.
But for now, asking the hobgoblin to get a few simple if possible was all he could handle. So the hobgoblin started heading back, in what seems like a random direction to it. Unaware that it's the road that leads home.
With that done, the child decided to look onto the portal that lead to his interior.
With just a though from him, kobolds suddenly appeared from the misty forest..They rushed in and fangs baring and rocks in hand. With just a few throws from them, the hob-goblins stationed at the portal were directly killed. More goblins appeared, but there were no match for the kobolds.
The kobolds then rushed into the portal. Inside were the 10 pregnant female goblins. They too were instantly slaughtered like pigs. With all the beings in the dungeon killed, the kobolds looked at the blue luminous thing in front of them.
They raised their hands, but suddenly phased out of existance.
"Its weird how I can be able to make myself see illusion as I wish now. But this little simulation has shown me something I have been lacking and neglecting."
Fortifications.
If the kobolds were to ever find his dungeon portal, a slaughter like the illusion he created will be inevitable. Which is something the child believed to be a future not far. As although the child is confident in his own misleading tactics against the kobolds, he believes that at some point, his base will be found. After all, even if you are stupid, after a few days, there is no way anyone will miss a glowing blue portal.
So what is he to do then? Watch as these creatures kills his inhabitants and kill him?
"So at least a wall is necessary to go foward. A wall or fort will not only provide higher ground for my coming goblin archers, but will open new defense tactics for me. Such as those tactics where the defenders pour oil on the attacker. Plus, with a large wall as covering, the portal won't be so conspicuous."
The child continued contemplating his coming actions, but suddenly, something else happened that pulled him from his thoughts.
"They are finally here."
...
what direction do you think this war is heading to now?
