As he strolled down the path, a strange sensation crept over him- as if someone were watching his every move. Curiosity piqued, he wondered who it could be. Confident in himself, Abbey let out a sigh before confidently declaring, "I know you're there. Your presence is impossible to ignore." Much to his surprise, a stunning woman in her late twenties or early thirties emerged from the shadows. "I never would have guessed the great dream lord could sense me," she mused. "You must be more powerful than I imagined." Abbey scoffed before demanding, "Who are you and why are you following me?"
With a sly smile, the mysterious woman replied, "For now, I am who I am. But you, the so-called dream lord, are my target. There can only be one." Abbey couldn't help but smirk at her words. "Is this some kind of joke?" he quipped. "Or did you just watch Highlander too many times?"
The woman's icy demeanor remained as she explained, "I've been observing you for some time now. Your antics in people's dreams will eventually attract the attention of those in charge. And that's a problem for everyone. I can't allow that to happen." Abbey laughed, dismissing her concerns. "Who cares? Unless, of course, you possess some abilities of your own."
"Don't say I didn't warn you," the beautiful lady yelled. "I guess I'll be seeing you in your dreams," Abbey murmured to himself as he left. Turning his back on the lady, he immediately brought out a crossbow and aimed it at Abbey. Seeing her reflection in the crossbow, Abbey leaped into the air and somersaulted to dodge the arrow.
Abbey's demeanor turned cold as he charged towards the lady. "You think a cheap shot like that can take me down?" he said with an arrogant tone. Then, after a moment of thought, Abbey added, "It seems like you're intent on dying today. If you want me to kill you, I have no problem with that. Just know that if you provoke me again, I won't hesitate to end you." With that, he shoved the beautiful lady away.
A few minutes later, Abbey was in a shopping center, looking for his next victim. This was the pattern of his life - going to public places, stalking his victims, and messing around in their dreams. Abbey found it very satisfying.
But today, something strange was happening to him. His mind was unfocused, as if there was a distraction somewhere. Abby tried to focus more, slapping himself lightly on the cheek and saying, "Focus your mind, Abbey." But the more he tried to psych himself, the more distracted he became. Finally, he said to himself, "Maybe I'll just sit this one out." As he uttered those words, he felt a sharp pain in his lower back, causing him to quickly retreat. "I need to go home and rest," he said to himself. But before he could take another step, everything became blurry and he collapsed.
Afterwards, he found himself in a dreamlike state, floating in the air and observing his surroundings. He could see a group of people carrying his body into a van. This event piqued his curiosity greatly. Once again, he recognized a familiar face, "This beautiful lady again?" he thought to himself.
Before long, the van stopped at a strange location. "I don't know this place," he murmured. He watched as the men hurriedly carried his body into the building. The name of the building was a private research enterprise. In his dreamlike form, he observed what looked like his body was placed on a bed and strapped to an oxygen ventilator. He murmured to himself, "It seems these people intend on holding me captive for a long time. Too bad they know little about my abilities. They better not fall asleep," he whispered, "because that will be my cue to immobilize them all." He let out a menacing laugh.
Furthermore, he thought to himself, "Let me explore my new surroundings. I want to know what else they have up their sleeves here." Before long, he was navigating through a complex maze structure and an underground network. He wondered which government agency funds this project. As he floated majestically, he saw a group of mad scientists carrying out experiments. When he noticed one of the scientists dozing off, he smiled to himself. "It seems the fun has begun," he thought.
Immediately, he began spirit possession, an unusual or altered state of consciousness and associated behaviors that are purportedly caused by taking control of a human body. He had carefully cultivated this technique. Now fully in control of the man's body, he said to himself, "Brad, that is your name. I will use you to carry out my nefarious agenda here."
Abbey, now in Brad's body, began using Brad's passcode and password to infiltrate the system. Some of Brad's friends called on him, saying it was time for a break. Abbey, who now possessed Brad's body, replied, "Go ahead without me. I have some unfinished work to take care of."
Smiling to himself, Abbey remarked, "When I am done with this place, I am going to blow it until the kingdom comes. That will teach them never to mess around with someone like me."
As he operated the computer, he saw a comprehensive file of himself. It seemed someone had tipped these people off about him. But luckily for him and unfortunately for them, they knew little about his abilities. "First, I will delete all the files they have on me. Then, I will destroy all their backup files in the process. And finally, I will flood their system with a specific virus," Abbey explained to himself.
Soon enough, Abbey found herself standing beside Brad's original body, now housing his own consciousness. he was desperate to reclaim his body and escape before anyone could expose his secret. As he was about to transfer his consciousness back into his body, someone unexpectedly entered the room, questioning Brad's actions and unauthorized access to the restricted area.
Brad hesitated before coming up with a quick lie, stating that he was merely curious about the person they were using as a test subject and wanted to see their abilities for himself. The man seemed suspicious but ultimately believed his fabricated story. Abbey didn't want to engage in further conversation, so he simply nodded in acknowledgment.
However, before he could fully regain control of his body, he suddenly felt a sharp poke from behind. As he turned to see the source of the poke, a blinding white light filled the room and he felt himself slipping into the unknown. Abbey was both confused and scared as he had never experienced anything like this before. he wondered where the light had come from and realized that his time for possession must have run out.
It was then that he accepted his fate that his soul was slowly slipping away into the abyss, leaving his body empty and his time as a spirit possessing another's body coming to an end. Abbey couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions, from fear to sorrow, as he accepted that his time was up.
