Douluo Dalu: story of Jing Ai

Cover is Ai generated. This is a fan fiction of Douluo Dalu/soul land, but the story will center around Jing Ai, it will not focus much on Tang San or the main story, or at least I will try to make it not.

End of the Spirit Awakening Ceremony

Jing Ai was staring at the place where the girl was previously, or more accurately above where she had been. The girl who had previously awakened her spirit awakened a phoenix, which for some odd reason Jing Ai felt drawn to.

When the phoenix had been summoned Jing Ai felt a feeling that was close to the one that she experienced with her scythe. She was unable to look away. At least that was the case until a scream rang out within the building.

"Innately full spirit power?!" The woman who had previously tested Jing Ai's spirit power screamed out.

It took less than a moment for the people who were left in the building to erupt into cries of surprise and shock.

"Did she just say what I think she did?" Jing Shao asked, "I think so." His wife answered. In comparison to her husband and many of the others in the building, Jing Yuu looked quite calm.

She noticed the girl right after she had entered the building. The girl got her attention by staring at her family, or more directly, at her daughter.

The girl acted differently than the other children in the building, she seemed more mature, not to the level of an adult, but more so to those a couple of years older than her. The girl also carried a gaze that made it seem like she was trying to observe those around her.

This changed after the girl awakened her spirit, as she seemed more absentminded, and wasn't paying much attention to anything surrounding her.

She was knocked out of this state by the woman's scream and was currently looking around in confusion.

"Mom, what does it mean to have innately full spirit power?" Jing Ai asked after seeing that almost everyone but her seemed to know what it meant.

"It is something that rarely ever appears, it pretty much means that you have the highest talent that you could have. Instead of needing to cultivate until your spirit power is at the tenth level if you have innately full spirit power you can skip that and absorb a spirit ring. This is also the reason why it is the highest talent you could have because you can't progress in spirit power until you absorb a spirit ring, making it impossible to have an innate spirit power higher than ten." Jing Yuu explained to her daughter, most of which Jing Ai didn't entirely understand.

After around a minute of shock, the crowd of people in the building managed to calm down, this included the woman overseeing the ceremony who then proceeded to ask for the last child to go up and awaken their spirit.

The last child was a boy. He walked into the hexagon of stones and had his spirit awakened. It was a tiger of some sort, not a very scary one, nor one which looked even remotely strong, but it still had a presence that seemed to top all other mortal animals.

Strong presence it may have had, but compared to the other two before it, it seemed like a joke, even when it was stronger than everyone but those two by a landslide.

This didn't stop people from taking notice of it, one of them being the woman awakening the spirits of these children. 'Three in a row?! What's wrong with this place?' She thought to herself in shock and confusion. All of the other places that she had been to before this one were quite calm, there was one with half-decent potential and all the others were trash. This one on the other hand had two with good spirits, one with slightly less of one, and one with innately full spirit power, which is something that you already don't see often.

The boy then was called to walk toward the table with the crystal ball on it, and almost immediately after he did a strong light shone out, "Spirit power of eight!" The woman and mostly everyone still in the building was once again shocked. An innate spirit power of eight also isn't something that you see very often.

This further made the woman question what was wrong with this village. But even with her confusion the spirit awakening ceremony ended.

I wasn't very into this chapter and was having trouble while writing it, so it's probably not very good.
