Ch-12 Tom and Jerry

Cassie calmed down a little and said,'' Yes I do, I was wearing a black mask and they didn't see my face''. 

Edith took a sigh of relief and said,'' Good, send me the I.P. address and do you know from where they hacked our system,''.

Cassie said in an irritated tone," London, I was not able to detect their precise location,".

Edith chuckled and said,'' London Huh ! Right under my nose , Cassie, I think I need a vacation , I'm leaving London for a week ,''.

Cassie didn't get what Edith was saying ,'' What Vacation Edie ? Could you please talk straightforwardly and not confuse me, and what the hell  this bastard wants from you ?,''.

Edith looked around the park and said lazily,'' He wants me. Are you with Flex ?,''.

Right then Flex voice came,'' I'm right here Edie,". 

Edith sat lazily at the nearby bench and said,'' I bet they know about us and now in order to find  me they will hunt you guys , I'm going to Chicago for a week with my other gadgets and will leave my regular ones at the base , I will take Mike with me , take Cassie and leave the city tomorrow itself , inform him also to leave the town with his family , but make sure to leave your regular gadgets in a base , if they wanna play Tom and Jerry then why not, I will pick Mike tomorrow morning ,''. 

Flex replied with a chuckle,'' Are you going to disturb Aiden again, and you are planning to take Mike there,".

Edith smiled and said," I can't put Mike's life at risk, we still don't know who they are and Mike will be safe with Aiden , No one can hurt us under his watch and with the help of him and Kaiden I will try to find this secret lover of mine,''.

Cassie and Flex laughed at her words and Cassie said," DONE,"

Edith  paused for a sec and said,'' Flex, inform him to, and at least congratulate him , his daughter is born today,".

On the other hand, Flex froze in his place when he heard this but then said in a harsh tone," He doesn't work with us anymore ,''.

" He used to work with us Flex and  this is enough for his life to get in danger, he is not alone Flex, he has a wife and a daughter, we can't put a family in danger,". Edith said. 

Flex took a deep breath and said,'' Fine Cassie will do that, how do you know about his daughter ?,''.

Before Edith could reply Cassie said,'' It's all over the News bro,''.

" Yeah , I saw the news, and don't worry it didn't affect me,'' said Edith.

" At Least don't lie to me Edith , now bye , Mike is awake and we have a lot of work to do," after that hung up without listening to her. 

Edith stared at her phone and thought ," I know you are angry with me Flex but I also know you care about him and you want to meet his daughter , I just wish you both become best friends again and not fight because of me,".

After 15 min , Edith walked back inside the hospital and took a round and check on patients then she message Caleb a list of few expensive things and told him to buy and deliver it to Woods Villa,  then she told him to get ready her private jet as she, him and Mike are leaving for Chicago the other day. After everything was settled she called her friend Aiden but he didn't pick it up , then she called Aiden's brother Kaiden and luckily he answered after a few rings.

" What do I owe you that you finally remember me,'' said a male voice from the other side.

Edith smiled when she heard this and said,'' You owe me a  beer Kaid,''.

Kaiden chuckled and said,'' For having that you have met me but never even call me,''.

" Make sure my room is ready , I'm coming for a week with Mike and Caleb but he will leave after one day,'' after that they talked and a few minutes before terminating the call.

Meanwhile , 

After leaving the hospital James goes to his company to handle a meeting , Lana picked Kids from the school and took them for shopping with her mother Joyce at the mall which was owned by Smith's only , Smith owned Malls in many country and were still expanding it, Alice reached her company and attend the press conference  , Leo was out to meet his girlfriend Chloe.

7:00 p.m. 

Inside Woods Hospital,

Edith was free after talking to Kaiden so she took a small nap in her room, which was on the last floor of the building 47th floor above this floor was terrace, After waking she took a another round of the hospital and check the health of Milie and Jade and talked to Milie's husband and then after that she  packed her all the things to leave the hospital after that she told Caleb to make Grandma Rachel's thing and wheelchair  ready after that she walked towards the ward. 

Just as she entered the ward , she saw Grandma Rachel  was already awake and was looking outside the window , but to her surprise she saw Ethan sleeping peacefully on the couch but he was very long to fit on that small couch.

Edith looked at Grandma Rachel and said with a smile," Ready to go Grandma,".

Grandma Rachel looked at her and said happily," Yes let's go," but then she looked at Ethan who was sleeping on the couch and with a soft expression she said,'' I think he is tired but still he came to meet me and even stay here for a whole day,". 

Edith was still upset because of Ethan's words so she just said ," Hmm," just as she said that Caleb came inside with a wheelchair.

Edith  looked at Ethan and then at Caleb and said ,"  Caleb go and help Grandma to get on the wheelchair and did you make arrangements at home for her ?,''.

Caleb also looked at Ethan and said to Edith," Yes boss, Mrs. Wood called and said that  the guest room is ready for Mrs. Smith, and Ahh! Boss , Mr. Smith ?,".

Edith walked towards Ethan while saying,'' I'll wake him up, you go help her,". 

 Caleb nodded and started to help Grandma Rachel while Edith stood near the sofa , she looked at Ethan's sleeping face and thought," You really are Mr. Handsome but you are very rude , I don't like you,". After thinking that she said with a cold voice," Mr. Smith ? Wake up ," but no response.

She again said," Mr. Smith ?,'' but still he didn"t reply rather he turned around. 

Edith made an annoying face and mumbled ," What the hell , I really wanna kick his sexy ass, how can a man like him sleep on this small couch,''. If Ethan ever heard her say ' Sexy Ass ' he would definitely die because of embarrassment. 

Edith bend a little and shook his shoulder and said," Mr. Smith Good Morn.. Ahhh !,". Before she could complete her words , Ethan grabbed her arm which was on his shoulder and pulled her on the couch with him , then without any hesitation he grabbed her waist tightly and pulled her closer to himself and slept peacefully while hugging her.

Caleb and Grandma was also shocked when they saw this , on the other hand, Edith was struggling to get up from his tight grip on her waist , her patience level was on the verge of breaking , her whole face was red because of Anger and Embarrassment , she was already mad at Ethan for earlier and now he was holding her while sleeping, she was so angry that she was about to burst. 

Edith took a deep breath and looked at a sleeping man and said angrily but not too loudly," Wake up Mr. Smith and leave me or else I will kick you on the wrong please , Ahh ! it's so uncomfortable , how the hell are you even sleeping on this couch, Ugh! wake up,". 

Ethan frowned when he heard her voice so closely and opened his eyes in irritation , he dozed off while thinking about the detective and he slept so peacefully that he didn't notice Edith trying to wake him up. 

Ethan slowly opened his eyes and saw Edith's beautiful face filled with anger and irritation , he got confused when he saw her but then he saw their intimate position and how he as holding her and in shock his eyes widened then he saw Edith glaring at him while saying,'' Leave me Mr. Smith,".

Ethan hurriedly tried to release her but in panic he lost his balance and fell on the floor with her above him, Edith's eyes  widened when saw him falling from the couch with her and was about hit his head on the ground she immediately held his shoulder tightly from on hand and put her other hand on the back of his head in order to protect it from hitting the ground but while doing that she hurt her own knuckles. 

" Ahh !" she yelped in pain and closed her eyes as soon as Ethan fell on the hard marble floor. 

Ethan looked at her with a worried expression when he didn't feel any pain on his head and heard her scream in pain , he could feel her hand on his head. Caleb and Grandma Rachel looked at each other speechlessly and wanted to laugh but control  themself , Edith opened her eyes and glare at Ethan  and then looked at Caleb who was just standing there so she said in irritated tone,'' What are you looking at Caleb , help me my fingers are paining,". 

 Ethan immediately help her to stand when he heard her and Caleb also walked towards them , Edith took 2 steps back from Ethan and looked at her hand and saw bruises on her knuckles which was paining like hell , she glared at Ethan and said,'' You better just not grab anyone in your sleep or else next time someone will surely kill you ,'' if Ethan's assistant Duke heard this he would have definitely laughed at her words and would have said," If my boss would grab someone like this then that person would be dancing from happiness,". 

Ethan took a step forward and said calmly," I'm sorry , I didn't mean to , is your hand fine ?,''.

Edith scoffed and said," Yeah you never do anything on purpose, it's fine," after taunting him she walked towards the door while saying," We are going back , Caleb bring Grandma with you,". After that she left the room, she was really not in a good mood , she exited the hospital and entered her car and waited for Caleb and others. 

As soon as Edith left the ward, Ethan helplessly looked towards the door and then at Grandma Rachel who just assured him by her eyes , he shook his head as he knew Edith was very pissed at him because of  his rude behaviour and then all this happened and she also hurt herself because of him , but then suddenly he smiled a little when he remember how she put her hand on his head so it didn't get hurt, he didn't feel disgusted when she was so close to him he was just shocked to see her lying beside him and glaring at him. He thought to himself,'' This is going to be difficult, Ugh ! why did I have to mess up again,''. 

Few minutes later everyone was downstairs , Caleb walked towards Edith and said in an apologetic tone," I can't come for dinner Edie , mom called me she wants to have dinner with me , I will pick you up tomorrow in the morning , your jet is ready,". 

Edith was already frustrated so she just said," Ok good night,". 

Caleb settled Grandma Rachel in Edith's car with her wheelchair folded, then walked towards his own car and drove away , Edith looked at Ethan and asked ," Are you coming with us ?,".

Ethan sensed the coldness in her tone and was a bit sad as she was not talking to him like she was in the morning so he just nodded and said," Yeah , sorry for the disturbance but James took my car today and Lana took my other car ,".

Edith shrugged her shoulders and said," Its fine,". 

After that she sat on the driving seat and Ethan on the passenger seat, Grandma was seating on the back seat observing them , Edith didn't said a word while driving , Ethan was peeking at her face again and again trying to initiate a conversation and to apologise for his rude behaviour but was not able to because of the presence of Grandma Rachel. 

Grandma Rachel was also observing their expression and behaviour and was grinning from ear to ear when she saw how Ethan was trying his best to start a conversation and how he was looking at Edith and Edith was ignoring him as if he was a mosquito.
