DEMON SLAYER - HYBRID HUNTERS

For as long as humans have known, creatures like Demons, Fae’s, Shape-shifters, Witches were things of myths. The veil that kept humans ignorant of the existence of supernatural’s lifted, and it plunges the world into utter fear and confusion. As expected of humans, they reacted first, causing more wars than need be and enforcing more havoc and misery on everyone. To stop the growing death that plagued earth, two sides banded together to attack one. Humans and supernatural’s were free to roam together day and night, surviving, working, and rebuilding to make earth the prosperous blue planet it once was. Only, this fairytale didn’t exactly start in peace… and well, we’re still waiting for the end of the story. As with every obstacle one overcomes in life, there lays another just a few feet’s away. Before true victory can be attained, both sides need to learn to work together for the safety of all. ~*~*~*~ Ten thousand years ago, I lived a happy, comfortable life with my granny who provided everything for me, only I was uprooted out of that life by the hands of a hardhearted man, and was forced into service for another man and his Kingdom which has done nothing good for me. I experienced life’s true brutality under his service and ended up losing my life. Given a second chance at revival, I promised myself to get back at the man who is responsible for the death card I was handed. At one point in my life, I had the chance to meet him and get my revenge, but I was too weak and immature to succeed. Instead, I got to experience an even bigger hell by his hands and suffered a traumatic fate. He tortured me to my very last breath, and my new body now has countless scars to show for it. He shaped me into the cold-hearted monster I have become today, and I’m going to make sure he gets a taste of his work. I’m going to make him pay for the lives he’s taken. I’m going to shove a hand deep into his chest, rip out his cold dark heart, and crush it in the palm of my hand with great satisfaction. I am Reed, and I am out… for Blood!

CHAPTER 15

The Middle…

Staring around me, I let out a long sigh and raise my hand to the brown bandage placed on my forehead. I'm thankful my hair covers the wound but still, it's unfortunate it can't cover the memory of that incident 2weeks ago.

My aunt and the academy had told me to forget all about it, but how could I forget the fact that 40 or so teenagers lost their lives in some kind of car accident that seems more like a planned attack.

And to makes things even more mysterious by some miracle I, out of the 40 other teenagers, survived the accident with only a minor head injury and a sprain which healed a long time ago.

I didn't have it in me to tell my aunt or the academy that I had died, nor could I explain the mysterious things which occurred right before my death with that weird red orb, but I do know for a fact that I'd died and by some weird miracle I revived.

I was pulled out of my thoughts when some teenage boy bumped my shoulder in his haste to get somewhere and I stared after him with a startled look, his loud apology echoing around the hall as he waves his hand above his head.

Letting out a sigh I drag along my bags and head up the stairs for my room, staring around I feel melancholic because the academy was my dream once. But, the realities of life soon washed it away and beat those dreams out of me.

Sighing, I push open the wooden door and come to a halt at the presence of a bright-eyed, cheery looking female standing in the middle of the room.

"Hi there, I'm Desiree Lock." The ghostly pale girl greets me with a too-wide smile, she puts forward a hand for a handshake as I take a step into the room. Shutting the door behind me, I slowly and reluctantly comply with a tight smile of my own.

She's surrounded by an aura of royal blue with streaks of white hovering over her form like a shimmering halo, with the new abilities I'd acquired when I woke up after the accident, I've found that I have a keen sight over aura reading.

One glance at an otherworldly, and I can tell their species through their aura's. Only high-ranked Fae's have auras of royal blue, but the streaks of white tell me what specific species she is, and the girl before me is none other than a high-powered banshee fae.

"I'm Aurora White. It's nice to meet you," I introduce myself and look around the average-sized room. "Are you my roommate?" I ask, even though the answer is pretty obvious, and she nods enthusiastically.

The action makes her blonde, almost white hair bounce in its ponytail. "I already settled my things on the left side of the room so you can take the right side." She points, and I responded with a curt nod.

The room is a lot smaller than my old room but big enough to accommodate both of us. Walking towards the right side of the room, I settle my suitcase at the foot of the bed and my duffel bag on the spring twin-sized bed.

Opening the closet doors, I arrange my clothes and do not notice how I became the object of my roommate's fascination until I glance in her direction. "Is, something wrong?" I tilt my head.

"No," She shakes her head and laughs shyly, a small flush turning her cheeks pink in embarrassment. "Don't mind me, I was just a little bit mesmerized by your hair and eye colour. It's so rear."

Uncomfortable, I turn back to my clothes. My unique features have always been the subject of people's fascination, and it gets old and irritating when people ask about them. Being a kid born with dark amethyst eyes, and silky silver hair, it garners a lot of attention and makes me the object of everyone's fascination.

Back home, the attention had been a bit of a nuisance considering I lived in a town full of mostly dark-haired, brown-eyed people. And my mother and I had been trying our best to keep a low profile. "Yeah, I get that a lot."

Probably sensing how uncomfortable I am, Desiree thankfully changes the subject. "You must be a transfer student since I've never seen you before."
