Bouncing toads

Harry was out of the room, standing with Sister Anne and Delphi. As they walked down the hallway, they saw that all five nuns and Father Edle were standing there waiting for Harry's decision.

"So you are going to arrest the now? Asked Sister Sarah with a around Triumph smile on her face.

"These two girls have nothing to do with Madam Mastigia's. She died due to heart failure." Harry told them in a serious manner, which caused the smile on the nun's face to flatten, and she asked outraged, "So you believe them, they are criminals?"

"The only criminals in this orphanage are the ones standing in front of me." Harry said in a scolding, deadly voice and continued.

"Madam Mastigia mistreated and abused this girl, and you all not only kept quiet, but you also played a part in this abuse."

"What nonsense she is making up stories to save herself and gain sympathy." Nun Lian denied haughtily.

"That is true; that girl is nothing but ungrateful, biting the hand that fed her all these years when her guardian didn't even spend a penny." chimed in Nun Zoe in fake disgust.

"You She should be crying after Mastigia's death. That is if you ever loved her, but look at you putting the blame on the dead and playing the victim." Nun said, turning to Delphi angrily.

Sister Camila looked at Anne and added, "And you, Anne, if you are not worse. I always knew you lacked moral sense but to help a child in murder. You are not fit to serve the Lord." 

"I think I have heard enough. You people are filthier than the rats in the slums. You not only enjoyed bullying a child, but you outright deny it." Harry said in the same cold, deadly voice and took out his wand, which confused the others, but they didn't know that they had not only tempted Harry's fury but had dug their own graves. With a wave of his want, he turned all the nuns and the priest into ugly toads and bounced them in the air up and down with his wand. 

"Any outsider would be blind not to see how you have treated this girl. Her hands burned and bruised her lip, bleeding while she was kept starving in a dusty, rotting cellar.

Do you think I am blind? Do you think I am a fool?

I have heard enough of your lies, and they make me sick, and you are worse than them all. You call yourself a doctor and a priest, yet you stood by and did nothing.

None of you deserve to be called servant of the God you." He said all this while bouncing them and causing their heads to hit the walls and the ceiling as they shot through the air like escaped rockets. It looked amusing to watch, but Harry knew they were hurt and scared, so with the finale words, they all fell back on the floor, transforming back into humans.

Delphi looked at Harry awestruck while Sister Anne stood there staring open-mouthed.

The nuns and the priest began screaming and ran towards the door, all crashing and tumbling down on each other, but with another wave of his wand, Harry chained the door.

"Let us out, please. Let us go," pleaded a few in scared voices.

"Please have mercy, we beg you," begged the others in literal tears.

"I am not the one you need to apologize to," Harry said with a look of disgust.

"Delphi, sweet Delphi, you forgive us, don't you." They ran towards Delphi and asked, pleading.

"Not in this life I won't." Delphi said with a cold expression filled with hatred.

They all looked as if it were their death sentence. With a few other waves of his wand, Harry obliviated them all except Delphi.

Once their memories were modified, they were back to being concerned, as Harry told them he would be calling the child protective services. He turned to Sister Anne and said I will be taking Delphi away for a short while until the orphanage is under better management in the meantime. I ask that you do your best to take care of the children.

"Thank you, I can't tell you how grateful I am," sister Anne thanked him sincerely.

Then Harry turned to Delphi and said, "I think we should go to gather your stuff from the attic if that is alright." And Delphi nodded in agreement. She began to wall up the stairs. Harry followed Delphi to the attic. "Once inside, Delphi asked, "Are you really a wizard?" She said this with an expression of utmost delight and excitement.

"Do you still doubt it after everything you just saw?" Harry asked with a sweet smile of amusement.

"No, but I need to know if I can trust you." Delphi's expression became a little serious as she said this.

"Who are you, and can you teach me how to do that? Where can I get a wand like that? She rapidly fired him with questions in her unconstrained excitement.

"Slow down. Let me first start by introducing myself. I am Harry Potter an Auror at the Ministry of Magic. I was sent here to investigate Madam Mastigia's death." He told Formula, realizing Delphi wouldn't understand half of it yet, but was surprised when she looked sad and said, "Oh, so you didn't know about me before." 

"No," Harry blurted out without thinking, which made Delphi sadder.

"It's just that I was hoping you were my guardian." She said with a weak smile that didn't reach her eyes, and honestly, she didn't want to fake it to be happy anymore.

"Oh, I am sorry if I gave you the wrong idea, but I have good news: you see young witches and wizards like me are accepted into the Wizarding School. At Hogwarts, it's the best place in the world, and I am sure you'll love it. You can stay there all year except for summer vacation when you can come back here." Harry said all this in a little hurry, and it worked. Delphi cheered up and asked excitedly, "Really! How do I apply?"

"You don't need to every wizard and witch gets accepted the moment they develop their magic and by the looks of this room. I am sure your acceptance letter will be arriving soon. The term starts on September 1st . In the mean time, you can come to the ministry so we can review your case and find out more about your parents." Harry reassured her and was happy to see that Delphi was back to feeling hopeful and happy.

"Who knows, you might even be able to live with a new family." He added thinking about what he wished for her and meant it.

"You really mean that?" Delphi asked in surprise; this seemed like a dream, even though she could sense Harry wasn't lying.

"I do," Harry said earnestly. 

"Thank you, thank you so much, Mr. Potter." Delphi hugged him and began to cry in joy. She had never thought a day like this would ever come. Harry Bond, don't wipe away her tears and comfort her.

"It's alright, everything is fine now. I know you have a lot of questions, but this is not the right place to discuss this." He said, and Delphi stopped crying and let go of him.

"Now let's get you packed up." Harry said happily because he was waiting for the moment he used this spell. He waved his wand in a neat way and said "Reparo" as everything went flying back to where it was and mended itself all at once. Delphi saw this with awe-filled eyes; all the pieces of trash fixed themselves and piled themselves one on top of the other; even Delphi's bed and mirror were back in their place.

"That was Fun", Harry said, remembering Dumbledore's words and feeling nostalgic.

Delphi began packing and filled her truck at the foot of her bed with everything she needed and wore her bag over her shoulder. In those minutes, she was ready to leave with a small old case and her shoulder bag.

"Is that all you got.?" Harry asked, feeling a little bad for Delphi, for this was so little to have.

"Yes," Delphi said cheerfully around of what she had. After all, she had worked hard to earn it.

"Ok, let's get going," he said, and they walked back to the front door. 

Delphi hugged and kissed Sister Anne on the cheek and said goodbye. Harry went to the door and opened it for her, but just as they were about to leave the door, Delphi looked back longingly. 

"Something the matter?" Harry asked and suddenly understood what was wrong.

"I wanted to say goodbye to my friend Alice." Delphi said she was a little worried about not being able to see her friend.

"It's ok, we are only going for a while. You can come back to meet them once everything is settled at the ministry." Harry told her, and she felt reassured.

"Ok, let's go." She walked the door holding Harry's hand.

They got out of the orphanage, and as they walked past the gates, they saw that all the police cars were gone and the ambulance had taken Mastigia's dead body to the morgue. The street was completely deserted, dark, and only lit by the light of street lamps. The sky was cloudless, and the stars were shining brightly.

Harry held Delphi's hand and said, "Hold on tight; this will be a little painful," causing Delphi to hold his hand really tightly, then Harry added, "And oh, don't tell anyone about the bouncing toads part; it was illegal." He finished with a little cackle, and Delphi replied, giggling, "My lips are sealed." And with a loud woosh, they disappeared from the spot.
