Travel Buddy

Aurelie stepped out of the taxi with her phone and a backpack in her hands. She was supposed to have Sharon by her side but Sharon could not leave the country so she was alone. She would be meeting with Nicolas and the rest of the team at her gate. She smiled at the driver as he got her case and set it down beside her. She smiled at him in thanks and watched as he nodded before rushing to the driver's side of the cab and driving off with a little wave at her.

Auri nodded at him and grabbed her case. She began walking into the airport building. She knew the gate she was supposed to be on and where it was. It was a floor up so she found the escalators and got on. 

Sadness filled her as she remembered a time when she had been in this building. It was a year ago. Mara had been with her. They had been laughing and giggling. Maa was going to help her settle into her apartment in the US before coming back. Now she was alone. She looked up and took a shaky breath.
