Author's Announcement

Enjoy the chapter since it might be a while until the next update, especially since I also sustained a terrible injury.

Therefore, I would like to let it be known I appreciate the continued support, more than ever as the story may enter into an inactive status. However, before the announcement is concluded;

LilKitty's Review had been touching when it felt like I achieved what I had hoped and envision to want the story to be.

Anyways, please do enjoy and don't forget to put this story into your libraries so you won't miss out when I do return and update the story! :)

'That must be how Indigo is able to get access to kryptonite! Damn Lex Luthor – if I found out he had something to do with this invasion I will handle him myself!'

But just as she began to piece the puzzle together, the answers became more complex as it led to more questions than answers. 'What is Lex Luthor after. Could his sister be actually involved? Did Lex Luthor intend this to happen? Is he allies with Indigo?'

Then all thoughts went blank as she had enough, and that it was time for action. 'The answers will come to light; I just need to find Indigo.'

"Okay, we have a new mission. It will be search and destroy. We search for; Supergirl, Indigo, and Lex Luthor. Our target to destroy; is that artifact."

When she had mentioned the artifact, she made sure to look at the korpsmen to see any subtle sign, but there was none. "Further details are to find any evidence that could lead any associates to light. Signs that could attest to assisting Indigo with the invasion."

By the looks on the face of all participating agents and personnel, they all knew she had a hard-on on Lex Luthor as she guns for him. "We will rendezvous with the National Guards halfway; they will be watching our rear as we scour the whole area. Am I understood?!"

"Understood!"

'Understood' a word that used to be the only thing that was utter by its mouth. Hylric a Death Korps Guardsman.

He recalled all the events – the orders; each and everyone he had all followed to the letter.

Orders; kill everything in sight, regardless of friends or foe, civilians or unarmed.

Orders; eradicate all survivors, disregard the age and status.

Orders; ignore the surrender, continue the bombardment.

Orders were orders – and it will be done – no matter what it is.

The God-Emperor watches, to defy orders was to defy the Emperor, punishable by death in its own right.

Events that occurred a time ago…

As the battle continued still between Supergirl and Indigo, over time it became apparent who would come out top as the superhero grunted as she took on a massive beating. Until in a flawless victory; Indigo defeated Kara Zor-El as she was made into a captive.

But the victory was achieved, at a cost when the superhero became rather feral and untamed – and that happened to be when Indigo had been caught off guard when Supergirl decided to melt anything in her sight.

'Damn cheap laser eyes!'

Upon the return to the hideout, Indigo frustratingly moved around – cursing and yelling profanities – as she began to prepare to let the stasis begin as she needed immediate repairs. However, the plan seemed to be canceled when a surprise that had been set has finally been taken notice of.

The Androids that had been left as stocks had been activated and armed. 'Had someone hijacked-" her thoughts interrupted when a voice began, almost like a mad preacher.

"Do you feel it – Do you sense it?!"

Indigo suspected she had a clue what was being regarded, as she had too, but what concerns the villain at the moment was the intruder who had turned her weapons against her.

"Show yourself!" Indigo demanded as she kept her ground along with the squad of androids she still had at her command. But damaged and battered, in opposition to that being outnumbered by fresh and unhinged hijacked androids – she knew chances of escape were slim, and making it out alive was none in existence.

Then the voice began once again. "The corruption of the Warp, spreading like a thick mist. The magnitude of its value, the immense source of its power – that artifact you used – where is it?"

The autonomous voice leveled and dropped low as it sounded threatening and consumed in a fit of seething anger. But when no reply was received when due, the intruder came forth to be witnessed and reveled in – tall and large with a staff at hand – Trazyn condescendingly appeared and much like an omnipotent.

Having mustered any working spare transport vehicles, the small convoy led by the Humvee at the front; equipped with a 50cal at the top base, manned by Nick – was followed by another four armored Humvees – as Sandra drove and took the lead, accompanied by the passenger seat by Alex, and at the back the korpsmen.

On the way to the mission's location, the ride has been smooth and quick, especially when the specifically made bumper was created to do just the very purpose it was created;

To push, smash and destroy obstacles in their way.

"All units get ready, we're 2 minutes in the location – remember the plan and execute your tasks and roles."

It then wasn't long when the convoy came to an abrupt stop as all the unit exited their vehicles in haste as all took their position and others began to move to begin their mission.

"This is Alpha Team, Warehouse is clear."

"This is Foxtrot, Warehouse is clear."

"This is Bravo Team, Area is secured."

"This is Romeo–"

The unsuspecting interruption alerted all the unit as the line went silent. But it didn't take long before all the unit had gone to investigate Romeo's location; and their objective – their designated Warehouse. Alex's team soon joined the ranks as then, nearly all the unit surrounded the target building.

"This is Sierra, respond Romeo." Alex talked into the radio strapped to the vest, but there was no response. "This is Sierra, I repeat – Respond."

But before any further action could be taken or planned, a quick burst of unexpecting firepower ripped through the ranks as it sawed the unfortunate men in half, splitting their torso apart as their guts poured out steaming.

In the revelation as the perpetrator came forth out from the warehouse, a staggering number of androids were revealed with;

"Oh shit! Those are M134 Minigun!"

"Everyone scram!"

Mere moments later, all the androids that were equipped with such weaponry opened fire as it decimated the ranks. 'Those things can puncture through a wall, or whatever cover we have! We can't hide! We got to end this fast!' Nick began to sweat as he worried before another man was shot down and riddled with holes.

The sight was a bloodbath, and the situation was on full set chaotic. That it reminded the Korpsmen of a tale that had been heard.

'My men should be out there.' It was the Krieg captain's voice again. 'No. I'm holding back our infantry,' said Lucien, 'until the biggest guns have been disabled. Then they might stand a chance of actually making it across that killing field to the enemy. That applies to Imperial Guardsmen and Space Marines alike. Right now, there's nothing they can do out there but die.'

There was the briefest of pauses before the captain said, tonelessly; 'That is what the Death Korps of Krieg does best.'

Lucien wasn't sure he had heard correctly; but then, the captain continued, 'Each shell that a Korpsman intercept is a shell that doesn't hit one of your tanks – which in turn means the tank can keep firing. I have many men and they are easily replaceable. You have only a handful of tanks and we can not afford to lose them.'

He couldn't argue with that logic.

"Grenade!" a man yelled out as he threw the unclipped explosive towards the androids – successfully taking out a number on the enemy. But before long he was gunned down, made into minced meat as it turned into mush as the androids continued still without remorse.

But then the ruthless attack met its counterpart when the korpsmen rushed the androids aggressively and spontaneously while their attention had been stupidly elsewhere. Meanwhile seeing the korpsmen at great work, the men became the main attraction to allow the korpsmen to wreak havoc as the guardsmen flanked the enemy.

"Eat this! Grenade!" another had been sent rolling to the enemy's position until it exploded – scattering the androids to pieces – as the battle continued on. The gunfight was hectic, and the situation was chaotic. "We need covering fire!" "Medic!" "Watch your left!" "Get those 50s up!"

The 50cals on the four Humvees were overheating – the barrel turning to molten red as bullet shells flew endlessly as it continued to fire repeatedly without rest. All the units scrambled as others laid flat on the ground, returning fire occasionally before throwing yet another grenade to shake up the androids that meticulously rain the quick bursting minigun at their position.

It was all screams of inaudible understanding. Orders being yelled, shrieks of being wounded, and the last groans and sighs to those who perished due to their injury.

◹][◸ ~ Astra Militarum ~◹][◸

Another more moment and the last gunshot was fired as the last android fell. The scene displayed has been a total defeat, despite the victory. There were many that lay dead, their limbs dismembered and their torso split, and body disfigured.

It was a tragic event. But the Korpsmen felt and offered no compassion to the deceased, but instead silent respect and acknowledgment to the dead soldiers – true guardsmen that fought humanity's foe.

"Status report." Alex gathered the surviving remanent, as each unit team representative participated.

"Alpha Team took minor losses."

"Foxtrot is half the manpower, Team Leader is KIA."

"B-Bravo Team is reduced to a three-man unit."

"All Romeo unit is accounted to be KIA."

Everyone fell into silence as the atmosphere turned dark and brooding. But Alex can't afford that luxury, that would have to wait as she shook her and her soldiers out of it.

"Alright. Alpha Team will be joining units with Bravo Team on keeping the surrounding area secured. Foxtrot Team will be assigned Romeo's assignment and locate the Kryptonite. While Sierra will be searching for Supergirl, and apprehend Indigo."

The keyword 'apprehends' seemed to tick the men off, and some muttered aloud how Indigo should just be eliminated. But relentlessly still followed orders.

"We still got a mission to complete, let's get it done." She added.

"On it." "Roger that." "Affirmative."

Fighting on an open field against miniguns is equivalent to that being an infantry being charged at by heavy cavalry. You're just toast.
