(Lex Luthor's plan.)

Chapter eleven:

Everyone run!

The citizens of Metropolis ran screaming in terror as debris rained from the sky. Some of them looked back in sheer disbelief, to see the enraged Eradicator tear buildings apart with her bare hands.

She's gone mad!

In the Daily Planet building, Travis George and Jimmy Olsen were amongst the crowd of workers watching Eradicator's tirade of destruction. None of them could believe what they were seeing.

What the hell is she doing? Exclaimed Perry White.

I haven't seen her like this since Darkseid attacked, said Jimmy. What do you think is going on, Mr. George?

I don't know, Jimmy... but it's not good... Replied Travis George.

Meanwhile, across town, the mayor of Metropolis was watching news coverage of Eradicator's rampage.

My God... Said the mayor.

Just then, she heard the buzz of her intercom.

Yeah? She said, holding down the button.

Mayor Fleming, you have Lex Luthor on line one.

Mayor Fleming sighed as she released the button, and then picked up her receiver.

This isn't a good time, Mr. Luthor. Said the Mayor.

Oh, I think it's the best time, Ms. Fleming, replied the voice of Lex Luthor.

I assume this has something to do with Eradicator? Said the mayor.

Of course, said Lex Luthor. Now, I'm not the one to say that I told you so...

Luthor, if you've come to gloat. Replied the mayor.

Oh, not just to gloat, Ms. Fleming... I've also come to offer my assistance in this most desperate times...

Of course you have... said Mayor Fleming. And how quickly you offer it too...

You question my motives. Understandable, of course. Replied Lex Luthor.

Not just your motives, Luthor. Said Mayor Fleming. Considering the planning you would need to be considered in any way useful in type of situation, I can't help but wonder...

You know, the more time you waste throwing accusations around, the more destruction Eradicator will cause. You know that I have the best resources for this task, and if we don't act now, there may not be a Metropolis to save. Replied Lex Luthor.

Mayor Fleming looked again to her television screen. As she saw Eradicator crush oncoming police cars with her bare hands, she sighed in defeat.

Well, it doesn't look like I or my city has much of a choice... Said the mayor.

I'm glad you've seen sense... Now I have one request of you, mayor. The plan I have in mind will require some muscle, preferably that of the alien variety... Replied Lex Luthor.

Wait a minute... said Mayor Fleming. You aren't seriously suggesting that you want Kailbak?

He may be Darkseid's son, but that could make him a useful tool. We need him, Mayor Fleming. Replied Lex Luthor.

Mayor Fleming sighed for a third time.

I swear to you, Luthor, if I find out that you are in any way responsible for this. I will personally see to it that you are locked up for good! Said Mayor Fleming.

Duly noted. Have Kailbak brought to Eradicator, I'll take care of the rest. Replied Lex Luthor.

Very well... goodbye Luthor. Said Mayor Fleming.

Mayor Fleming placed the receiver down, before placing her head in her hands, shaking it in frustration. Lex Luthor, on the other hand, smirked triumphantly as he pressed down on his intercom.

Scarecrow... it's time... Said Lex Luthor.
