Clara gathered her courage to talk things out with Mateo, but he was nowhere to be found. He truly didn't care about her anymore. Gloria knew Clara wasn't feeling well and came to comfort her, but he showed no concern. Did he not worry about her at all?
The more she thought about it, the more frustrated and aggrieved Clara felt. She couldn't control her mind from wandering. Standing in the courtyard, she felt suffocated, as if there was nowhere for her to go, and the thin air made it hard to breathe.
Clara grabbed a basket and headed into the woods. She needed to walk, to do something, to clear her mind.
In the forest, many people were picking fruits to store food. Clara followed the crowd, and gradually, as more people gathered, the three wolf girls approached her, chatting with her. Clara started to think less.
"I heard there's a delicious fruit deep in the mountains, black and in bunches," Sanya happily reported to everyone.
