The Soul-Level Testing...

"Why?" she asked.

"Will tell you some other day. The thing you should know is, she had a level thirty-five soul, something we couldn't have after years of training, in just three-years of joining, and the fact is she couldn't make even a spark on the first day. So, would you like to try what she did?"

"Sure, but what must I do."

"Since you are not habituated of showing whatever you feel. Write. Take a page and write. Write all your emotions and burn it, then your emotion would be known to you and not read by anyone else. Try that today, and go to sleep. Wake up in the morning and roam, walk, exercise, do whatever your heart feels like. Slowly you will find yourself opening up to your own soul.", she said, before getting up from the bed and leaving.

Daisy followed all the instructions, and to her surprise, she could make the outer circle of the matrix the next morning, the same thing as many other level-one students. She carried papers and flare stick with her, so she could write whatever she felt like and burn it.

Day by day, working as hard as she could, and under Aunt and Ethan's guidance she seemed to improve. In a week, she seemed to make the best matrix in class. Things were going her way, and one day after the classes had ended, she was sitting on a chair, when Ethan, her teacher joined her.

"You seem to be improving really fast..!"

"That's all because of you and aunt. If you hadn't asked her to help, I doubt I would have managed to get here."

"Which aunt..?", Ethan seemed confused.

"Robert's mother!!"

"Ohh... you mean aunt Rubina, I never told her, Robert has been asking about your performance everyday, I guess he told her.", Ethan smiled.

"That ice pack knows how to care...", she said, raising an eyebrow.

"Its rare for a warlock to be so introvert, and he's an extreme case. He hardly talks to people, there are many people in the clove who haven't even heard his voice. If he reacts and speaks a line to you, that itself means you are close to him."

"On the first day he seemed pretty normal to me!!"

"Maybe he wanted to be like that around you, but couldn't find a chance again."

"Maybe..", Daisy shrugged.

"Well, the soul-upgrading time is coming, it is going to start after two weeks. You must concentrate on that. Since your matrix is now perfect, you can start learning spells. During the soul-upgradation period, all clove-members having soul under level forty would be busy with themselves. Then there would be soul testing on the last day of the month. Work hard!! See you..!", Ethan smiled and waved before leaving.

The following two week were really tiring as she learnt spells, day after day. Since she was faster than others, soon Ethan started giving her private lessons and working hard everyday, the two weeks seemed to have gone in a flash. Soon the soul-upgrading week started, and as Ethan has said, the town seemed deserted except for some people. Even in the house, except for food, no one spoke anything. Robert's father was the only one going around to buy things, cook and take care of others.

After the week passed, the day of soul-testing arrived.
