Black flames were made in much the same way as blaze fire was however the ratio was much more extreme. Blaze was comprised of a mix of seventy seventy split of fire and dragon elements. Black fire however was a mix of one hundred and fifty dragon and fifty fire making it much more devastating especially to elder dragons such as him. Alex shot across the sky as a vast wave of black fire followed him as fatalis chased after him with it's gaze. Alex suddenly folded his wings and broke the sound barrier in freefall as he rapidly shot towards the ground.-
This let him dive under the cone of fire since fatalis was no longer aiming straight up but at an angle. Not wasting any time Alex closed his eyes and created a huge blast of light element around himself temporarily blinding fatalis and allowing him to close the distance with a flap of his wings before he struck to ground. Channeling his full momentum into his claw Alex punched fatalis at just under the speed of sound right on the side of it's jaw. The black fire ceased erupting from fatalis's mouth as it's jaw snapped to the side violently unhinging.-
With narrowed eyes Alex then detonated the Tenshou star in his body doubling up on his damage at this moment. Fatalis could only widen it's one remaining eye in fear before the blast struck it and began to destroy it's body. A massive dome of swirling cyan and purple destruction visible for half a dozen miles in every direction was created from this attack on Alex's part. When the blast receded all that was left of the ruins was a molten crater seven miles deep and twenty wide.-
At the bottom of the crater was a corpse missing almost half of itself with no internal organs at all. Alex stood next to the corpse panting heavily as his energy stores were dangerously low but he had won with his final attack. "ROOOOOAAAAAAAAR!" he announced his victory and though none would see it every elder dragon in the world who was paying attention dipped their heads down as a show of respect. For the first time in thousands of years there was a new monster king species that had beaten a member of the old one proving it's superiority.-
With the fight over Alex devoured what remained of his opponent as was his right and then promptly went to sleep as exhaustion overcame him despite the rain that was starting to fill the crater. Time passed and soon the intense storm above receded after filling the new lake to the brim with crystal clear water that showed the humans at the craters edge the sleeping form of Alex in the center of the new lake. This prompted the guild to go through their records to find any monster matching the description as well as to try and figure out what used to be in the location of the lake.-
They found both and with the report from astera coming in shortly afterwards they also roughly figured out what had happened as well. The elder dragon that had once laid waste to an entire kingdom had been slain by Alex and this lake was the aftermath of the battle. So in this knowledge the new lake was named after the sleeping dragon at it's center , Obsidian lake. Alex slept soundly under the water for nearly three days before waking up and stretching. He pushed off the bottom of the lake and ascended to the surface lazily under the wide eyed stares of the hunters and scholars at the lakes edge.-
Alex lived fairly quietly after the commotion of what he had done faded away through the years and he watched the new world develop. He watched as everyone he knew from his hatching slowly age and die. He stood steadfast as a constant reminder to every person on the planet of who the true ruler of it was as he went hunting everyday. Generation came and went and Alex watched the world move on as if he was not really even there and though he could he had not chosen to extend his lifespan.-
After a few thousand years of life Alex was tired mentally and so when his time finally started to draw near he released all of his energy and went to sleep one last time gifting the world one final gift before he went. The whole world be it monster or person felt his passing and wept even though none had noticed the small sliver of light fly into the heavens at his passing. This was the system having served it's owner well and now on it's way to another adventure. ----- FINISH.
