Chapter 21
Olive was so pissed as she saw Avery. It was doing her to push her off the staircase but she didn't want to see her brother's wrath. With that thought,she left the mansion. How she wished she could just kill Avery and look for something powerful to make those that love her hates her. She thought as she drove off in max speed. Avery went straight to Nina's room. Upon reaching the room, she twisted the door knob and walked in. But what she saw froze her.
Meanwhile in the hospital, James went straight to see the doctor in charge of Avery father. Him and the doctor discussed concerning Avery father health. After then , they shook hands and James left. He couldn't believe he had said those hurtful words to Avery. He was trying his best not to fall in love with her but yet his heart keeps fighting his brain. It's as if his brain was against falling in love with Avery but his heart was acting stronger like a love medicine being poured all over him. So the only way for him not to fall in love with her was to torture her till his heart finally stocks thinking about her. She is not his type and she will never be his type.
Nina!! Avery rushed towards her as she took away the cigarette from her. What are you doing?? She asked panicked. Nina took in a deep breathe to calm her heavy heart. I love him. But he doesn't have my time. Nina finally confessed. Who? Avery asked worriedly. She couldn't believe that Nina was smoking because of a man that doesn't love her at all. Was her love that deep for him? She thought.
" Him. He is the man I want. I love him". Nina said a tear began to roll down her cheeks. Who are you talking about? Avery asked. Fedrick! Nina finally said gloomily. Avery furrowed her brows confused. Who is fedrick?
Fedrick is a close friend of James. Fedrick is also ruthless billionaire like James. We dated but for some reasons,he stopped talking to me. I told James to help me talk to him but James always find a way to twist the topic. He always says fedrick is busy but I am confident that he is seeing another woman. Please Avery, I beg not as a friend but as a sister that I trust , please help me find out what fedrick is doing. Nina explained as she held Avery's hand.
Avery couldn't bear see her best friend in turmoil because of a man that doesn't have her time. She will do everything if it's for her to talk to James. To beg him even though she deep down she knows he will hurt her with painful words.
" Don't worry Nina. I will try my best to make you happy again. " Avery said wiping her tears. Nina hugged Avery as she felt relaxed. I love you Avery. You are the best for real. She exclaimed and Avery smiled back. The two discussed about the upcoming engagement. It's next tomorrow. Nina said happily and Avery suddenly remembered what James had said to her at the airport.
" I am coming because of the engagement, am coming Because of the love of my life. " She couldn't forget that word. It hurt her deeply and she didn't know why. Why was she feeling like this towards this heartless billionaire. She can't fall in love with him. Not when he hurts her with painful words.
Well, it's not necessary to be happy about a fake engagement party that will only bring pain. Avery said after a long pause of silence. Hmm, as I have told you before try to make it real. You are the only one that can make this marriage work for both of you. I don't know why but I have this unnerving feeling that you and James are meant for each other. Like you two are destined to be together. I don't know why but I feel that day since the day James defended you on that gala day. I feel he is in love with you and not Becky. Nina said and Avery stared at her with a calm expression.
Why do you think so? Avery asked. Because he sent his most powerful man to protect you from Becky. Why do you think he brought you back by himself? Why do you think ----
Please stop Nina. Avery cut her off. She couldn't believe that Nina thinks that James loves her. He doesn't love me. The only reason why he did all of those is because to him, I am like a pay back to the loan my father borrowed. I am nothing to him. To him , I am like a money that was paid back. Becky is the true love of his life. Avery said calmly and she felt her heart squeezed. Nina smiled and said nothing more.
She already understood the last sentence Avery said. It seems that this two needs a lightening spark , something that can trigger them to finally confess their feelings for each other. But what could that be?
Becky was in a hair salon to adjust her blonde hair to prepare for this fake engagement party. She smiled because she knew she would see James there. She just can't wait for next tomorrow to come. She thought.
Avery and Nina went to see Mrs Smith as the woman gave them the sample of the engagement dress for Avery. The two girls took it and left for the boutique. The drive to the boutique took a long while. After a long while, they finally reached the boutique. It was an expensive dress store for multi billionaires and billionaires and for most high class people.
Avery mouth hung opened in awe. She was mesmerized as she couldn't believe her eyes. After her shocked expression, Nina finally talk. Mother wants us to get all the things needed today so that tomorrow the make up artist and hair stylist will begin their work tomorrow. Nina explained and Avery nodded. And the two went inside the boutique.
