We Did Not Find Him

"Mu Qianmo, right? I'm Nathan Yang and this is my twin, Nathalie Yang. Let her go. She's with me. I'll apologize in her place. Nat is impulsive and childish. I hope you would let this slide and be the bigger person..."

Mu Qianmo obviously was not a pushover because he looked at Nathan Yang with a serious expression on his face.

"I found it weird that you both call each other the same nickname... However, both of my friends were injured by her. If I had punched her in the face and knocked her unconscious, and said it was because I was impulsive and childish, would you forgive me?"

Nathan Yang chuckled. "I understand." He threw a look at Nathalie Yang who was glaring at him.

"Don't blame this on me. You were given orders. Why can't you stick to the manual?"

"Because.." Nathalie Yang gritted out. "Those kids tried to touch the solar generator and that punk is a metal ability user. He threatened me with it!"

Mu Qianmo has never been called punk in his entire life and was actually a little offended but because he was a very patient person, he glanced at Nathan Yang with an expression that said, 'Please do something about this.'

Nathan Yang nodded but he also gestured for him to let his twin go and only then did Mu Qianmo released Nathalie Yang from her captivity. However, the first thing the woman did was to pounce on him. Mu Qianmo at the moment was actually very tired so he was not prepared to defend.

Luckily, Nathalie Yang smacked against something hard that was not Mu Qianmo.

It was Lin Jiaojiao's barrier. It was a transparent and thin film that resembled glass. It was also slightly glowing in the dark which made them notice it.

Nathalie Yang was bewildered and Nathan Yang who saw it before was very intrigued.

"This is really amazing. This looks like glass." He noted, looking at Lin Jiaojiao in a very curious manner. He was wondering if it could even shield against bullets and he even contemplated the idea of trying to shoot it, his hand reaching for his gun.

However, he felt a chill running down his spine and shivered. He turned and saw Lilian Mo's intense gaze, her beady black eyes were cold and waiting for him to do something wrong, like a predator awaiting its prey to commit a huge mistake that would cost their life. His hand left his gun and he crossed his arms over his chest, a stoic expression on his face.

Patience, he told himself.

Once they reach the base, only then he would show no restraint.

"Nat, calm down. Don't let your temper get the better of you. This isn't the time." Nathan Yang reminded his twin.

Nathalie Yang sneered. "Nat, you sound like one of the general's lapdog."

Nathan Yang's eyes became cold but he did not answer to the provocation.

Mu Qianmo felt that the twins were weird. "You really call each other the same nickname, why is that?"

Nathan Yang shrugged. "It's fun to see people's reaction when they find out about it." But Nathan Yang did not look like he was having fun.

Nathalie Yang on the other hand still looked at Mu Qianmo as if she was one second away from strangling him which prompted Mu Qianmo to wisely back away. He would rather avoid conflict as much as possible.

Moreover, his friends were still unconscious so he hurried over to wake them up in case Lilian Mo tried anything drastic to make them conscious.

He shook Mizuki Rei's shoulders.

"Little Rei, Little Rei, wake up."

"Yangzhu.."

The two eventually opened their eyes, looking very confused.

Fu Yangzhu looked sleepy. "Brother Qian, why did you woke me up? I was having a good dream... Ouch!" He grimaced and held his cheek, feeling that it was very painful.

Mizuki Rei yawned and also froze, feeling the ache on his cheek. Unlike Fu Yangzhu, he instantly became clearheaded and knew at that moment that he was bested by the woman who could turn invisible.

When he saw Mu Qingqing's face, he was even more ashamed since he was aware that he probably looked like a bruised pig.

"Qingqing..." He called out, sounding very pitiful. Anyway, he could at least use this to gain sympathy from his fiancee.

"Reirei, you're awake! I was so worried!" Mu Qingqing said, holding his hand between her own.

"It's good that you two are still alive. Where is Lu Jingren?" Lilian Mo asked since that was the purpose why they split up in the first place.

The three guys were alarmed when they heard this.

"We did not find Boss Ren. I thought he would be on the lower floors with you guys.." Mizuki Rei uttered, looking befuddled.

"We did not see him." Lilian Mo told him which caused the three to become greatly startled, their eyes staring at her as if they did not believe her.

"Reirei, it's true. We did not find him. We only met Zhou Yang's brother. They're with the army and they're here for the solar generator." Mu Qingqing chimed so that the guys would believe Lilian Mo's words.

"But, but.." Fu Yangzhu was in a trance. If Boss Ren wasn't in the upper floors or lower floors, then where is he? Is it possible that the Boss left the hotel? If so, then what awaits would be people from the army.
