Coming of the Apocalypse Queen

In the year 2XXX, a blue meteor from outer space landed on Earth and signaled the dawn of the apocalypse. More than 60% of the population was wiped out by a mysterious disease. Plants and animals turned into mutants. People gained powers and abilities. The world and the government collapsed and turned into a world where only the strong is respected while the weak are doomed to die. Lilian Mo didn't have a good life during the apocalypse. She was reduced to being a possession of her fiancé and became his glorified bed warmer. He kept her locked up in his villa and rarely allowed her to go out, keeping her around as his pet that he took care of. Though it was considered a luxury to be able to eat three times a day and drink clean water in the apocalypse when all the water sources are contaminated, Lilian Mo sneered at this kind of life and escaped her confinement meeting people along the way and gaining an ability on her own. She found 'friends' during her journey and fought alongside them through life and death, only to be betrayed by them. Lilian Mo died tragically when she was pushed to a group of mutant animals by her so-called 'friend' whom she treated as a sister. When it seemed like everything was going to end for her, she opened her eyes and went back to her sixteen-year-old body, two months before the apocalypse. "The heavens have not forsaken me." Lilian Mo swore to grow stronger and take revenge on those that betrayed her trust. Lucky for her, she was reborn with the knowledge of the future and given her own special dimension. Her golden cheats allowed her to sail through the apocalypse without worrying about food or water. After waking up two months before the apocalypse, Lilian Mo decided to set her eyes on the people that wronged her. ▪▪▪ A story about a girl's journey to becoming stronger while trying to survive in the apocalyptic world and facing the man of her past. ▪▪▪ Reminding my readers that this book's rating is [No One 17 And Under Allowed] which means it contains mature content not suitable for young readers. Read at your own discretion. This also includes gore, violence, abuse, and explicit content because the setting is an apocalyptic world. The MC is a heartless person who kills without hesitation but has a soft spot for the people she cares about. If this bothers you, feel free to drop the book. There are no major misunderstandings between the characters. Face slapping is reduced to a minimum and there are no exaggerated or draggy arguments. I only write happy endings ;) This is pure fiction. Don't expect it to be realistic. My third language is English--hoping that the Grammar Nazis would be gentle with me Cover photo not mine. I only edited it.

Should We Kill It?

A bunch of crazy people was the only thing that could be used to describe these rich young masters who grew up in wealthy families.

As children of prominent families from the Imperial capital, they grew up experiencing abduction, kidnapping incidents, and ransom situations, plus the added pressure that came from the status of being rich and having a family that only expected the best from you.

It would be a real surprise if they still remained as innocent little fools after going through all of that.

Especially Lu Jingren who has the most experience.

Lu Jingren looked down at Zhang Youji, the child visibly trembling.

'I found someone scarier than Mom.' Zhang Youji thought while slightly hoping that this handsome big brother would help him no matter how cold he was. And after witnessing Lu Jingren's ice power, Zhang Youji was even more convinced.

'It's him.' He thought with conviction. This was the person that he was waiting for.

"Big brother.." Zhang Youji decided to be brave as he once again asked for help.

"Please, Big brother... I need your help..." Zhang Youji was still a child. Even though he tried to put up a strong façade, people could still see through him and notice his fear.

Lilian Mo watched this scene attentively. What would Lu Jingren do next? She was prepared. Her body had assumed a fighting stance, ready to stop him in the event that he tries anything against Zhang Youji.

Afterall, a child was different from an adult. A child was still young and their ways could still be mended.

Lu Jingren paused, studying the child before him. His gaze looked bored but there was slight interest in them.

Zhang Youji touched his hand. When their fingertips connected, Lu Jingren trembled. Zhang Youji also trembled, his already pale face turning even paler.

That minuscule contact brought about a lot of unpleasant things within and a whole three months' worth of memory leaked into Lu Jingren's mind, making him grit his teeth and clench his fists.

The process lasted for half a minute but it felt like half a year as he sorted through the memories.

"Hah."

An exhale of breath. A change in mood.

Zhang Youji stared at him with a mixture of fear and hope. He was no longer able to hide his trembling figure.

"Good." Lu Jingren said.

"Very good."

The boys' expressions turned serious when they heard this. As people that had accompanied Lu Jingren for years, they naturally could tell when he had decided to do something.

Especially Mu Qianmo. The moment the Boss stepped forward, this meant that the Boss had chosen to get involved.

'Ah, Boss Ren. What are you planning to do this time?' Mu Qianmo inwardly asked while watching the man.

Lu Jingren's expression didn't display any change. Instead, he glanced in Lilian Mo's direction, and his eyes curved like they were smiling. If other people saw this, they would have swooned over him. A beautifully handsome man was smiling through his eyes.

It seemed like a dream that didn't feel so real.

Lilian Mo and the others stilled.

An out-of-character move from the introverted Boss had spooked them.

A smile.

Even if it was just a slight hint of a smile through the eyes, nevertheless, it was still a smile. Even so, what was surprising was how he was able to smile after killing someone.

"Shit." Fu Yangzhu cursed under his breath.

"I second that." Mizuki Rei affirmed, feeling goosebumps as he saw their Boss's expression.

Mu Qianmo was the only one silent. He seemed to have taken it all in stride.

"Why is he looking at my Momo that way?" Mu Qingqing muttered, her eyes looking between Lilian Mo and Lu Jingren.

Lin Jiaojiao was in a dilemma. The guy who was known as Boss to the boys was showing such ill intentions towards her savior and future sister-in-law! How can this be? Lin Jiaojiao inwardly panicked.

'Ugh... Big brother isn't here but there's already such a strong opponent trying to snatch my sister-in-law!'

What was she supposed to do?

Lilian Mo was oblivious to this as her lips pressed firmly into a thin line. Was this his way of showing her that he could kill her if he wanted to? Or, was he teasing her?

He was too unpredictable. It could be that he found out that she was planning to help and take in Zhang Youji which was why he was going to do something to the child to mentally torture her.

Lilian Mo's heartbeat quickened. Mental torture was something he was good at.

It seemed like a ridiculous idea but when it came to Lu Jingren, this kind of thing was completely possible. Afterall, he had just killed someone infront of that child without even blinking and looking the least bit guilty.

If he wanted to, Lu Jingren could easily kill Zhang Youji.

Lilian Mo was on high alert.

It was a kind of stupidity for a Level Five like her to fear someone that was on a lower level but she had developed a trauma against this man which made her feel insecure and mentally weak against him.

Her palms were heating up and emitting a bit of smoke.

Lu Jingren stepped towards Lilian Mo and she tensed up as he did so.

"Lilian."

She raised her head when she heard her name.

"Lilian, what should we do?"

Lu Jingren asked, gesturing to Zhang Youji.

"There is a strange mutant monster in this child's house. Should we kill it?"

Lilian Mo paused.

We.

We?

Should 'we' kill it?

Lilian Mo was quiet for a few seconds.

Perhaps, there was something wrong with her ears right now.

This kind of show of camaraderie coming from Lu Jingren seemed impossible. He was known for being selfish...

What on earth...

"How do you know that? Did the child told you?" She asked cautiously since she couldn't reveal that she already knew about the half-mutant monster in Zhang Youji's house.
