Coming of the Apocalypse Queen

In the year 2XXX, a blue meteor from outer space landed on Earth and signaled the dawn of the apocalypse. More than 60% of the population was wiped out by a mysterious disease. Plants and animals turned into mutants. People gained powers and abilities. The world and the government collapsed and turned into a world where only the strong is respected while the weak are doomed to die. Lilian Mo didn't have a good life during the apocalypse. She was reduced to being a possession of her fiancé and became his glorified bed warmer. He kept her locked up in his villa and rarely allowed her to go out, keeping her around as his pet that he took care of. Though it was considered a luxury to be able to eat three times a day and drink clean water in the apocalypse when all the water sources are contaminated, Lilian Mo sneered at this kind of life and escaped her confinement meeting people along the way and gaining an ability on her own. She found 'friends' during her journey and fought alongside them through life and death, only to be betrayed by them. Lilian Mo died tragically when she was pushed to a group of mutant animals by her so-called 'friend' whom she treated as a sister. When it seemed like everything was going to end for her, she opened her eyes and went back to her sixteen-year-old body, two months before the apocalypse. "The heavens have not forsaken me." Lilian Mo swore to grow stronger and take revenge on those that betrayed her trust. Lucky for her, she was reborn with the knowledge of the future and given her own special dimension. Her golden cheats allowed her to sail through the apocalypse without worrying about food or water. After waking up two months before the apocalypse, Lilian Mo decided to set her eyes on the people that wronged her. ▪▪▪ A story about a girl's journey to becoming stronger while trying to survive in the apocalyptic world and facing the man of her past. ▪▪▪ Reminding my readers that this book's rating is [No One 17 And Under Allowed] which means it contains mature content not suitable for young readers. Read at your own discretion. This also includes gore, violence, abuse, and explicit content because the setting is an apocalyptic world. The MC is a heartless person who kills without hesitation but has a soft spot for the people she cares about. If this bothers you, feel free to drop the book. There are no major misunderstandings between the characters. Face slapping is reduced to a minimum and there are no exaggerated or draggy arguments. I only write happy endings ;) This is pure fiction. Don't expect it to be realistic. My third language is English--hoping that the Grammar Nazis would be gentle with me Cover photo not mine. I only edited it.

Lawless Orphan

Ah... It really was disappointing that most of the people on her list were women. It just goes to show that the real masterminds behind the scene were women. When it comes to scheming, some men were inferior to them because some of them were simple and were easy to trick.

Of course, not every man was stupid but in most cases, when they see something beautiful, their IQ would drop to ten, and tricking them would be as easy as playing with a kid.

Lilian Mo would admit that most of the powerful figures in the apocalypse were men but they were also quite easy to deceive when presented with women. Especially those people from the government.

Those people in the higher-ups had been the first to flee and regroup, wanting to save themselves instead of the people below them. It just goes to show how selfish humans truly were.

She pitied those patriotic people and soldiers who were loyal to the country and its citizens but was forced to work under higher-ranking officials while leaving those that truly needed help and refuge.

Well, Lilian Mo wasn't concerned about nationalism. With so many things happening around her, those kinds of ideals would just serve as her Achilles heel and she didn't want that.

'Most people used the excuse that we are from the same country and we are fellow citizens so it was normal to help each other. But...' Lilian Mo was filled with ridicule.

She grew up mostly alone in her life and those fellow citizens and government officials that had spoken about nationalism had always been invisible to her.

When things were still normal, it was her who woke up as early as five to prepare her breakfast and commute using public transportation. She would also make her own lunch to save money despite having so much of it in her bank account. When she was sick, she took care of herself and endured.

She would also go out to buy medicine in a pharmacy alone. During her birthdays, sometimes, the old Chen couple was there and other times, there would only be their gifts in attendance. When she had won a national math contest, she was alone and her instructor was the one who gave her the plaque.

When her teacher asked for a guardian's permit during a school trip, Lilian Mo had to beg and call her supposed guardians because she didn't have parents.

She was also a scholar after achieving high scores in the entrance exam and she had worked hard not to pay any tuition fee. When she saw Mu Qingqing getting cornered by a bunch of thugs, she made a quick call to the police who were too slow to arrive even though the alleyway had been near the police station. Lilian Mo ended up taking matters into her own hands.

She was almost sent to jail for beating up those ruffians, was called 'a lawless orphan with no moral integrity' by the so-called 'policemen' of justice and if it weren't for Mu Qingqing's parents' help, she would have probably landed herself on juvie.

There were many more instances where she had to do everything and anything by herself while she was alone which was probably why her people skills suck so much and that her only friend in this life and her previous life was Lin Fang and Mu Qingqing.

Don't even mention Lu Jingren. They were lovers but he was also her jailer! The anger she held against him was not easy to dissipate. She didn't hate him. She hated his actions and decisions, hoping that he would be a better person.

Ah... but the scumbag locked her up for three years.

That was wrong on so many levels. Anyway, because of her knowledge of the past, things would never be the same between them and she would never see Lu Jingren in the same manner again.

At the moment, after hearing what Zhang Youji said, the only thing she felt for him was the urge to beat him to a pulp.

But for now, killing the half mutant was their priority.

Their group journeyed quietly on foot towards their destination.

As they walk in the direction of Zhang Youji's house, Lilian Mo could feel the skin on the back of her hair standing on alert as she entered what seemed to be a territory of a mutant. With her heightened senses, she could feel the territorial hold that a powerful opponent held onto these parts of the city.

Lilian Mo watched the whole area, listening in, not missing a single sound.

If they were lucky, this half-mutant would be the brute type who only has their physical strength just like what Zhang Youji told them. If they were unlucky, this half-mutant would be the ability type, able to wield abilities just like awakened ability users.

If they were really, really unlucky, this half-mutant would be both and even if it was only at Level three, it would be hard for the others to defeat it.

Lilian Mo was relieved that she had chosen to train much earlier than the rest of the team, otherwise, they would suffer from eating more than they could chew. She also wanted to believe that maybe she was only feeling paranoid and that their opponent would just be one of those many weak mutants with no distinct characteristics.

As the saying goes, tension is who you think you should be. Relaxation is who you are. Lilian Mo was really torn. Being too paranoid or being too relax have their own disadvantages.

Lilian Mo had already overestimated her team's capability back when they were in the hospital and she did not want another part two of the members getting injured. Only eleven resins were remaining in her space and if the people around her got injured further, there is no saying if they would be able to move as fast as usual due to the added burden.

It was also more dangerous when one is injured since mutants would definitely be attracted by the scent of blood.
