Coming of the Apocalypse Queen

In the year 2XXX, a blue meteor from outer space landed on Earth and signaled the dawn of the apocalypse. More than 60% of the population was wiped out by a mysterious disease. Plants and animals turned into mutants. People gained powers and abilities. The world and the government collapsed and turned into a world where only the strong is respected while the weak are doomed to die. Lilian Mo didn't have a good life during the apocalypse. She was reduced to being a possession of her fiancé and became his glorified bed warmer. He kept her locked up in his villa and rarely allowed her to go out, keeping her around as his pet that he took care of. Though it was considered a luxury to be able to eat three times a day and drink clean water in the apocalypse when all the water sources are contaminated, Lilian Mo sneered at this kind of life and escaped her confinement meeting people along the way and gaining an ability on her own. She found 'friends' during her journey and fought alongside them through life and death, only to be betrayed by them. Lilian Mo died tragically when she was pushed to a group of mutant animals by her so-called 'friend' whom she treated as a sister. When it seemed like everything was going to end for her, she opened her eyes and went back to her sixteen-year-old body, two months before the apocalypse. "The heavens have not forsaken me." Lilian Mo swore to grow stronger and take revenge on those that betrayed her trust. Lucky for her, she was reborn with the knowledge of the future and given her own special dimension. Her golden cheats allowed her to sail through the apocalypse without worrying about food or water. After waking up two months before the apocalypse, Lilian Mo decided to set her eyes on the people that wronged her. ▪▪▪ A story about a girl's journey to becoming stronger while trying to survive in the apocalyptic world and facing the man of her past. ▪▪▪ Reminding my readers that this book's rating is [No One 17 And Under Allowed] which means it contains mature content not suitable for young readers. Read at your own discretion. This also includes gore, violence, abuse, and explicit content because the setting is an apocalyptic world. The MC is a heartless person who kills without hesitation but has a soft spot for the people she cares about. If this bothers you, feel free to drop the book. There are no major misunderstandings between the characters. Face slapping is reduced to a minimum and there are no exaggerated or draggy arguments. I only write happy endings ;) This is pure fiction. Don't expect it to be realistic. My third language is English--hoping that the Grammar Nazis would be gentle with me Cover photo not mine. I only edited it.

Don't Go, Don't Leave Me

A firm hand grabbed her wrist, clamping down heavily that she felt her bones might break from it.

"Don't go... Just stay here with me. I'll keep you safe."

"I'm sorry... I'm sorry. I can't do this anymore... I'm tired of waiting every single day, not knowing when you'll come back or not, or if you would even come back... I'm scared."

"I will come back... I will always come back." He looked desperate as he tried to convince her.

She shook her head. "No...no...."

She saw how his eyes were clouding, losing their clarity as seconds passed by which meant that the drug had worked.

Lilian Mo smiled sadly. She held his face with her hands and gave him a kiss on the forehead, waiting until his eyelids felt heavy, his muscles weakening and even his senses losing their function until his consciousness slowly drifted away from him.

But when she met his gaze for the last time, she saw the look in Lu Jingren's eyes. Her heart pounded against her chest because at that moment, she knew, that he knew, what she did to him.

She had drugged him.

And he was aware of it.

In his eyes, she saw his fear and pleas.

Don't go, they seem to say. Don't leave me.

Lilian Mo's eyes quickly watered, her chest heavy with emotions. She placed her forehead against his and hugged him, waiting patiently.

At the very least, she would stay with him until he was asleep before leaving. The past few years had been toughed on her and him.

"Jingren...Thank you. I owe you a lot these past three years. I won't forget what you did and I won't forget our time together. But..." Lilian Mo smiled shakily, tears spilling from the corner of her eyes.

"...just forget about me."

....

....

....

"Lilian."

A distant call from somewhere woke her up. The pain, the cold, everything seemed to have vanished altogether.

When she opened her eyes, Lilian Mo saw the wide and clear sky without the sun.

She did not remember entering her space but since she was already inside, there might be an explanation for this.

"Ah."

"Lilian, you're awake."

The clear blue sky was replaced by someone's face and she saw a pair of oceanic blue orbs looking at her.

Lilian Mo subconsciously felt a dull ache in her chest after seeing this face.

She remembered the previous look on those eyes, begging her not to go.

Don't go. Don't leave, they seem to say.

She remembered the previous heartache of separating from him and leaving. The feelings she felt as she held him for one last time before leaving for good.

Lilian Mo unconsciously outstretched her hand, placing it across one cheek of the familiar face before her. The warmth on her palm felt real as if he was truly there beside her.

"I'm sorry..." She said in a weak voice.

"You must have been really hurt." She followed. In her previous life, before she left, she saw the pained look on his face and how betrayed he felt.

He had never begged her so badly and it was the first time she saw how desperate he was.

Don't go. Don't leave me.

These two sentences repeated inside her head, like a mantra.

Lilian Mo closed her eyes.

It was already too late for regrets. What was done was done. Moreover, leaving was the best decision she ever made. Lilian Mo would never regret escaping because she feared that staying would only bring ruin to the both of them. Living a life of captivity was also not something she wants.

"Ah, Lilian. You did treat me roughly when you were treating my wounds."

Her reverie was suddenly interrupted when she heard these words.

"But thank you for helping me."

Lilian Mo opened her eyes.

The familiar face was still there.

"Lilian?" The lips moved in sync with the voice.

The outstretched hand trembled.

"Lilian-"

She pushed his face away to the side and sat up, eyes wide with a mixture of shock and apprehension.

Many things ran through her mind at once.

This was the inside of her space. She saw someone that looks like Lu Jingren in her space.

Why the hell is Lu Jingren inside her space?

Feeling a chill running down her spine, she slowly looked at him and saw him rubbing his cheek. After knowing him for years, Lilian Mo could tell that even without speaking he seemed to ask why she did that to him.

Lilian Mo sucked in a deep breath.

"What are you doing here?"
