Ch. 167 - Invitation

A few weeks have passed and Dracula learned to accept that his daughter is indeed growing up and she's not the baby Mavy like she used to.

Meanwhile, Jin has been receiving information from Jeff who he helped in making an alternate identity, away from his original one and also helped him in achieving his dream of building his very own bakery.

All this in exchange for a weekly report from Jeff about the happenings in the human world and their response to the news of the monsters.

After receiving the reports, it's quite hard for Jin to say that the reactions of the humans are wholly bad news.

There is also some good news like those people who emphasize that monsters are like humans too, they have feelings and life like humans and so on and so forth.

This is the first time that Jin appreciates these kinds of people. Normally they preach about animals having feelings too and they should resort to becoming entirely vegans.

Who knew they would turn out to be quite useful in the matter of monsters.

Aside from those, the bad news that he received was that the UN has announced that they would make a move on the monsters and determine if they're hostile to the humans and the planet earth.

Which means that all the countries in the entire world are now focused on the monsters. This is much worse than dealing with Thomas, the ex-president of the US.

Speaking of Presidents, Jin was quite surprised to receive a report about the newly elected President called Abraham Van Helsing.

Using his ancestor's fame along with his fame of eradicating vampires and monsters alike while also exaggerating that they were protecting the humans from them a long time ago, Abraham has gathered quite a lot of supporters that helped him ascend to the seat of the President.

Knowing who Abraham is according to the movies, Jin knew that this only spells trouble as Abraham would do everything in his power just to kill Dracula.

'I don't know how this fight even started but this is Dracula's problem now, I'm sure he'll be able to handle himself just fine, unless Abraham resorts to the Kraken...' At the same time as Jin thought about the Kraken in the movies, his eyes widened in surprise and realization.

'Abraham would definitely use the Kraken to eliminate all the monsters at once!'

'But he doesn't know the exact location of the artifact that is used to control the Kraken, right? Or perhaps he already found it thanks to a certain reincarnator.' At this point, Jin felt like slapping himself in the cheeks so hard for only realizing this now.

'I have to warn Dracles.' Jin stood from his seat and quickly left his room, using his chi senses to locate Dracula's location.

Sensing him in the saunas, Jin teleported inside there and was surprised to see Dracula and his friends staying inside.

"Jin? What are you doing here?" Dracula removed the towel on his face after sensing the presence of Jin inside the sauna.

"Oh, hey Jin! Care to join us?" Frankenstein was among them and when he saw Jin, he didn't hesitate to invite him in, after all, Jin is his benefactor and it's almost like Frankenstein owes him his entire second life.

"....Sure." Seeing how relaxed they are as Wayne was even salivating from the sheer heat in the sauna.

Jin snapped his fingers and removed his clothes, showing his hardened body and carefully trimmed muscles to everyone in the room.

"Oh..." Frankenstein was the first one to react by having a surprised expression on his face.

"....Oh man." Next was Murray who looked dejected after looking at Jin's sculptured body and then at his own flabby belly, before comparing them.

"Dammit, how did he have that kind of body?" The last one was Griffin who could only look at Jin with jealousy in his eyes. He also wanted to have that kind of body even though he's invisible and no one would be able to appreciate it even if he has the same body.

Jin ignored their looks and proceeded to grab a towel from a nearby rack and covered his lower part of the body. Thankfully the mist in the sauna covered it or else they would not only die from sheer jealousy and but also have their pride as men destroyed completely.

"Hahh~" After sitting beside Dracula, Jin sighs in satisfaction and pleasure.

"So, what brings you here?" Dracula asked while scrubbing his back.

"I have something to tell you." Jin cracked his neck and replied.

"Tell me what?" Dracula said with his eyes still closed.

"Have you heard about Abraham Van Helsing?" Jin first asked the question just for confirmation.

"Yeah, uhh he's quite an old friend of mine." Dracula awkwardly chuckled, clearly showing signs of lying.

"Yeah, a 'friend' who is determined in killing you." Jin scoffed while directly revealing his blatant lie.

"Sigh, so what's with him? Don't tell me he also came back to life." Dracula made a slight joke, after all, knowing human lifespan, his old rival must already be dead long ago.

"Yeah, he didn't come back to life but he's still alive to begin with." Jin dropped the bomb that shocked not only Dracula but also Frankenstein and Murray, as Dracula's longest friends, they obviously know about the Van Helsings that seemed to be so adamant on killing all vampires along with the other monsters.

It's not a lie to say that some mother monsters have made the Van Helsings as Boogeyman or the monsters under their children's beds.

"Huh? I'm sorry, I think I heard it wrong, can you repeat that?" After using his pinky finger to clean his left ear, Dracula asked for a repeat, thinking that he just heard him wrong.

"There's no problem in your hearing, Dracles. You're a goddamn vampire." Jin rolled his eyes and said.

"What you heard is what you heard, there's nothing wrong with it. Abraham has been living for exactly 201 years." Jin dropped the bomb, making them wide-eyed and dropping their jaws.

"How is that even possible?! Last time I remembered, humans can't even live until...I don't know, 70 years before they die of old age or some unknown disease?" Dracula was in disbelief, all this time he always believed that Abraham is dead due to old age, but who knew that he's still alive and kicking, though only alive but not kicking.

"That would be the case but Abraham is not a normal human, I'm sure you know how he's kind of a technology wizard thanks to his intelligence." Jin answered the question that has been boggling their minds after the reveal.

"So, you're saying..." Dracula's eyes widened as he seems to have gotten the gist of what Jin is implying.

"Yes, Abraham has prolonged his life with the help of technology...."

"Geez, and here I thought they were just toys." Murray made a comment, though it's impossible to hide the slight fear in his voice which was noticed by everyone in the sauna but no one made fun of him. After witnessing the power of technology in the human's hands, they stopped underestimating the humans, they're now different from their past selves where monsters reign supreme.

"Anyways, just watch out for anything unusual that happens here, if something weird goes on, just don't forget to tell me." Jin finished stating his purpose in coming here.

Just as he stood up and prepared to leave, Dracula replied to his warning.

"Oh there's nothing unusual that happened yet, just an invitation letter that I received this morning." Dracula waved his hand and said with a carefree tone, as if receiving an invitation letter itself isn't weird enough.

"Invitation letter?" Jin quickly stopped in his tracks and turned around to face Dracula who quickly caught up to him and realized that the invitation letter he received this morning was indeed weird.

"Where is this letter?" Jin asked and Dracula soon replied.

"In my room." Dracula stood up and stretched his body in many unimaginable ways before walking outside the sauna with a straight back.

'Cartoon logic is really impossible.' Jin shook his head after seeing the way Dracula stretched his limbs.

Once they arrived at Dracula's room, Jin was met with Dracula throwing several clothes out of the cabinet before he screamed.

"Aha! Here it is!" Dracula grabbed a small letter from the cabinet before handing it to Jin.

"Let's see..." Jin slowly unfolded the paper and started reading it.

[Dear Count Dracula,

I hope this message finds you in good health. I want to express my apologies for any past conflicts and misunderstandings we had in the past.

As a form of my apology to you, I would like to sincerely invite you to my cruise to have a short party. You're very welcome to bring all of your friends, in fact my cruise ship is enough to accommodate every other monster that you know of.

The location would be sent to you once you respond to this letter....

I really hope you consider this.

"He's....surprisingly kind...." Jin rubbed his chin while trying to find any flaws in the letter but found nothing. Though guessing from what he watched, Abraham's plan would still be the same as he did in the movie.

"Ab really changed huh." Dracula felt happy after reading the letter, he thought that Abraham had a change of mind and decided to forgive him for killing his ancestors.

"Alright then, I guess we'll go on a trip!" Dracula smiled and can't wait to pass this 'good' news to everyone.

'Oh well, I guess it's fine to leave him in the dark for now, once I see that Kraken, I'll make my move and besides, this cruise party would be a good rest for everyone.'
