PREGNANT

After Alex's leave a month and some weeks ago, the whole house had become uncontrollably peaceful and warming. The family members were happy because there was no one to fear, and they minded each other's businesses except for MAY.

At the hospital.

A middle-aged woman acclimatised her glasses, flashing her kind fleeting and self-satisfying smile at the lady, she congratulated "You are feeling nauseous not because of allergy but the little bun in your belly"

A depreciating look covered May's face, and she stammering enquired "What do you mean, doctor?"

The smile on the doctor's face faded away, she felt threatened by the turbulence circulating in the young lady's eyes.

"You are pregnant"

'You are pregnant

Hearing that single word, May felt her entire world smash to smithereens. She rose from the seat and took her heels out of the office. 

How on earth did she become pregnant? God isn't so cruel as to make her pregnant after that one night. 

Inside the hospital exit door, the lady stumbled as an overbearing convulsion spread through her tender body. Her hands were shaking as she held the confirmation result paper.  A thick grey mist was all around her. At last, she crouched down and clasped her knees in her arms. She squeezed the corner of her dress, feeling helpless. She could not speak, her eyes turning red.

She betrayed him!!!

She betrayed her brother Xavier!!

She raised her hand and struck it to her face hard, which showed the imprinted hand mark on her pale cheek. She had difficulty breathing as her eyes were clouded in a mist of tears. She kept gasping for breaths. She tried to fight back the tears that were about to burst out but at last, her little hold-on broke as she was driven to despair.

She fisted her hands and began hitting the floor, her shoulder shivering immensely and miserably. 

Her heart wrenched terribly as that guilt was eating her up. The product of her betrayal was in her belly.

Noooooooooooooooooo!!!

Hot tears flowed out of her eyes, they came at a slow pace but the more she saw the bold words on that paper, her small whimpers turned into loud sobs.

I can't be pregnant, please!!! Not for that man.

What do I do! What do I do! What do I do!.

You promised Xavier, May. But look they are all empty promises. You fucking married some other man and given got pregnant with this child and Xavier. Your brother Xavier will be very disappointed if he knows. The thought of his bright blue eyes filled with disappointment and hurt shook her to the core. 

THIS IS A WAKE-UP CALL!!! TO LEAVE THAT HOUSE.

She still had the child in her tummy to deal with. Her mind went blank as she thought of a solid solution. She rubbed her tears away and languidly stood on the cold floor. Her eyes glinted with a regretful resolution. She threw the examination paper into her purse and exited that place.

She will do what she had been thinking.

That afternoon, in America.

On a surgical bed, was the silhouette of a perfectly refined man, a bandage was wrapped around his face and his chest was heaving fast causing the EKG to beep loudly. Of a sudden, the door to the dim room opened wide and two people strode inside. One of them which was a tall handsome man, who felt beads of sweat rest on his forehead. He looked at the other man beside him with a pale look.

'Do something, you fool' The man almost screamed at the blonde man standing rooted with a blank indifferent look. The blonde man shifted his gaze from the other man to the beeping machine. His lips curled upward in a fulfilling smile.

"I think we finally made it" He announced. Shortly, the man's heartbeat moved back to the usual pace. With relief, the two men stared at the man on the hospital cot. They saw he had stirred up from his coma and his stiff body had moved.

"He is awake, Adrain" 

The blonde man called Adrain shot him a cold look and went forward to help his friend.

"You don't feel dizzy, do you?" The hospitalised man sat on the bed, though he could see nothing, he slightly open his lips to speak "Have you checked on her? How is she? Is she eating well? Tell me...Adrain"

"Man!!! Slow down, will you? I am no machine all right" Adrain shrugged his shoulder "Since you are in contact with your men, you ask them yourself"

"Zachary, tell me...I can trust you" Zach scratched his head and was about to say something when the man yelled in a self-arrogant tone.

"Take this damn bandage off...I must better be able to see otherwise" His smug smile sent shivers to the other two bodies.

Adrain sneered "Still ungrateful"

He lazily dragged himself to his friend's side and began taking the bandage slowly off his face. He put it to the side and removed the white wool covering each of his eyes.

"All right, take it slow...open your left eyes first, then the right" Zach instructed as he as well was excited. Alex shut his eyes tightly, he couldn't help thinking of that little wife of his. Finally, he would be able to see her and touch her....feel her, ravish her and love her like tomorrow was the end.

Zach and Adrain became restless when he refused to open his eyes. Didn't he know they were waiting?.

Alex gradually open his left eyes and then followed his right like he was instructed but the moment they opened, he could only see darkness. That same darkness that haunted his whole body and soul.

"I CAN'T SEE!!! BASTARDS!!!! I AM STILL IN DARKNESS"

Adrain shook his head at his stupid friend. He ignored his words and began waving his hand around his eyes.

"Zach, switch the lights on"

"On board" Zach laughed.

Alex was getting impatience and irritated by the result. Was he hopeless? He already had so many dreams about his new life with his beautiful wife there. Apt as the lights were on, the reflection hit him causing him to hiss.

"Now Alex, close your eyes once again and open them when I say you should...GET IT!!!" No one had ever ordered the young master of the Su family around before and right now, Zach was enjoying every moment as it lasted.

Reluctantly, Alex followed his order.

"Now open your eyes"

'Wife I wish to see you...I want to look at your beautiful face'

His eyes fluttered and opened slowly. He realised everything was blurry and shifted from his position. He could see the silhouettes of two people in the room. His eyes shook in an unexplainable whim of emotions. He could finally see.

For twenty years of his life, he was a blind man. Finally, he could see again.

Zach and Adrain exchanged happy looks with each other.

"Welcome to the land of the living, Mr Alexander" Zach teased sarcastically.

*Ring Ring*

The loud cry of a shoe ringing filled the place. Adrain took the phone from his pocket, and seeing the visible name on the caller ID. he handed the phone to Alex. The latter had a grim look on his face and frowned but answered the call.

"TALK!!!"

The two men in the room felt intimidated by his cold tone and jolted.

"Look at him being all bossy again" Zach scoffed.

"You'd better mind your business" Adrain scolded.

"Boss, Mrs Su was spotted in the hospital and from the records we got...she is pregnant and right now she is about to.........."

Alex's eyes softened when he heard the news.

Pregnant!! His flower was pregnant. His wife was carrying his child. He was just about to savour that truth when a bomb was thrown at him. His hands clenched tightly on the phone and his recovered eyes were red from anger. His grim look had turned dark.

"She is about to abort the child....should we stop her?" The caller inquired. He felt the chilly sound of the man and shivered.

Alex ordered "IF MY WOMAN DARES TO EVEN HURT MY BABY FOR A SECOND AND YOU BUNCH OF FOOLS JUST STAND THERE AND DO NOTHING, YOU'D BETTER CONSIDER YOURSELVES DEAD. JUST TRY ME!!"

Infuriated, he smashed the phone to the floor and groaned out loud.

"You!!!" Adrain was speechless. That was his phone...

"You just broke my phone!!! ARE YOU FUCKING WITH ME"

Alex had not calmed his anger but the man added to it "Prepare me for that private jet, I am leaving this country...NOW!!!"

Zach was bewildered "Alex, you just regained this eyesight...take a rest first....what happened? You are suddenly angry. A while ago you were happy but now......"

Alex glared at him as if he would throttle him into pieces at any moment "IF MY WIFE DOES THAT ABORTION BEFORE I GET THERE...YOU TWO SHOULD ALSO CONSIDER YOURSELVES DEAD"

Zach completely shut his mouth up and left the room immediately. He feared Alex the most as he owns lots of destructive weapons. He still loved his life.

Alex looked down and closed his eyes as the pain rushed through him. Adrain gave him a bland look and left the room.

'You are even capable of aborting that child for the man. May, you are mine...just mine!!!! I will make sure you love me...Only ME!!!" He clenched his hands into a fist and threw a punch on the bed.
