The only remaining survivor
"Hey kid, are you sure ? Even if you are a master at navigating, the sea is very dangerous, you know. There are sea kings and pirates roaming free ! And even though East blue is said to be the safest sea, you can never trust the treacherous water." Doctor Ganja tried to stop Nami from leaving alone.
Nami was a very clever girl. She didn't show any sign of her memory returning until the last moment.
It was just a coincidence that Fu caught her collecting different items from the scrapyard in the outskirts of the louge town. And when they confronted her, they found out that she was preparing to leave the island.
Nami admitted that she has regained her lost memories and wanted to go back to her home Island. She refused to speak about her past. She just wanted to go back to her home.
Doctor Ganja understood the situation. He decided to not inquire about her past anymore. But he tried to convince her to not leave alone.
"Doctor, thank you for everything you have done for me. I don't think I could ever repay you in my life. But this is something I will have to do alone. I don't think you should worry about me that much. I have some experience in sailing. I have sailed in merchant ships as a helper before. So I will be fine." Nami assured the doctor as she checked everything before leaving the island.
She has also prepared an iron staff as a self defending weapon.
After checking everything, Nami thanked doctor Ganja and Fu before disappearing in the night.

Looking around the dock, I finally found my target. A small sailboat attached with a big pirate ship.
During this time the Louge town is not as clean as shown in the Anime. The local Marine captain and head of the base is apparently a corrupt marine captain.
So pirates can roam freely in the city as long as they don't cause a big ruckus.
So the western dock was mostly filled with pirates or smugglers' ships. In any other scenario I would avoid such places as much as possible. But now is not the time to become a pussy.
Since no ship will go to the island which was practically destroyed by the marines themselves, she will have to steal a boat in order to go there herself.
And the best people to steal about from were pirates.
Usually the smaller sailboats were the most vulnerable. So they were usually attached to the larger ships through physical locks or tight rope locks.
The one I had found was attached to a larger pirate ship with a tight rope lock.
The pirate ship has a weird mouse like Jolly Rogers on it. A flag of some kind of canon fodder pirates.
At first, taking out my telescope, I checked if the route was clear or not. While there was no one on the small sailboat, there were a couple of pirates keeping an eye around the ship from the crow's nest.
It seems that the pirates might be canon fodders but they were not fools.
But I was prepared for any situation. Finding some handy chemicals from the scrapyard was worth the effort.
Breaking the seal of the handmade grenade, I threw it towards the ship. The grenade didn't have much explosive power. But it was very loud. Not to mention, it has another case with calcium carbide and calcium phosphide in it. So it would also create a smoke screen which will serve as a distraction.
As soon as the bomb went off, I dashed towards the ship from the nearest ally way.
I could hear panicking screams and curse different people from the ship.
But the smoke screen was thick enough that they would not be able to see anything. On top of that, it has only been 3 days since the night of no moon. So with the already less visibility, it will be really hard for them to see anything.
As soon as I reached the small sailboat, I threw the small bottle of acid on the knot and started rowing away as fast as I could.
In the night the visibility was low. But for some reason I was having little to no problem seeing in the dark.

From Polestar Island it will take a normal ship around three days to reach Conomi Island.
I didn't have enough money to pack food for all three days. And I didn't want to compromise with my appetite. So on the second day of my journey, I decided to start fishing.
There were many reasons why I have decided to return to my home Island. I didn't know if anything or anyone had been left alive. At least in the newspaper, it was published that everyone has been killed during the operation of the buster call.
Even if no one is alive, it was my responsibility to at least give them a grave.
In the last few days, I have contemplated my life many times. In the end no matter what excuse I find, my own conscience couldn't forgive me.
Of course I was not directly responsible for this tragedy. But in the broad scale of things, everything that has happened, was because of a small action that I took in order to change our fate.
I don't know if after knowing what I did, Belli could ever forgive me.
I am sure she wouldn't.
When I can't forgive myself, then how could they forgive me ?
But I was guilty doesn't mean that I don't want to live.
In fact now I have a new purpose in my life. A new dream maybe.
I didn't realize when three days passed. On the evening of the third day, an Island came to my view.
The island which had experienced the cruelty of the world government.
I steeled my heart as I slowly steered the boat towards the remnants of Cocoyashi village.
