Chapter 68

Maximus and his Royal Guard had stayed at Castle Black for a week before Ramsey and his army had surrounded the castle, demanding that the Stark Boys be turned over to him. Maximus and his dragon were on the other side of the wall since Maximus and Jon were currently talking with Mance Rayder the supposed 'King Beyond the Wall'.

"Mance Rayder the King Beyond the Wall"

"That is me and who are you" Said Mace

"This is His Imperial Highness Emperor Maximus of the Roman Empire"

"An Emperor all the way out here beyond the wall, I don't believe you belong here"

Maximus had raised his hand telling his guards not to do anything "Mance Rayder I am an Emperor so be mindful of your next words or who knows what may happen the next time you disrespect me" Balerion had roared so loud making most of the Free Folk scared and nervous and even making Mance gulp from the pressure

"Now on to the main topic of discussion, I am willing to give you and your people a safe place to stay to get away from the Long night and what comes with it" Said Maximus

"How can I be sure that you won't just massacre all of my people as soon as we let our guard down" Said Mance

"Mance, I can assure you that his majesty can safeguard your people since he has helped my brothers and saved their lives along with my sisters" Jon Snow who was quiet the entire time tried to help Mance

"You expect me to believe the very man who betrayed our cause and is now trying to help us after betraying us" Mance wasn't going to be fooled twice

"His Majesty doesn't have time to deal with plebeians like you, so either you accept what his majesty is offering and kneel or you will be left here to die beyond the wall" Said one of the Royal Guards

Mance Rayder had his pride to keep and wouldn't want to kneel to anybody since that is what it is to be a free folk "We Do Not Kneel"

For a while now, Maximus has been lenient on people who don't respect him, but now he wasn't just going to let Mance who was at his Mercy talk to him that way since he already warned him once.

Maximus had grabbed Mance by the throat, lifting him off the ground as the free folk around him took out their weapons to save Mance, but Balerion instantly burned a group of Free Folk trying to attack Maximus and his Royal Guards.

This stopped the other Free Folk from doing something stupid, since they didn't have anything to do against a Dragon.

Mance was losing vision as he couldn't breathe and was on the verge of death, but before he died, Maximus threw his body to the ground, letting him catch his breath.

"All you have to do is kneel and you and your people will get to safety it's not that difficult to kneel, so this is your last chance to kneel before I make sure that you won't be able to kneel in any way" said Maximus

Mance was about to stand up while another one of the free folk who was a clan leader walked up to him and grabbed his shoulder, causing Mance to look at him

Once Mance looked at him, the clan leader had shook his head, telling Mance to give up since he could see that they won't win this battle.

Mance sighed in defeat and used the little strength he had left to kneel, causing the other free folk to also kneel.

All around them, the free folk were kneeling. But one of Maximus's soldiers came running with urgent news.

"Your Majesty Stannis Baratheon has landed on the coast and killed the soldiers you sent to try and negotiate and is now headed this way" The Soldier was trembling, hoping that he didn't interrupt something important

Maximus sighed, since he knew that this was going to happen, but he didn't expect them so soon. Maximus got onto his Dragon while looking at the Free Folk.

"Jon Lead them to the Wall for safety and make sure that the nights Watch don't start shooting them while I will deal with Stannis and his army"

Jon nodded while the Free Folk followed him towards the wall.

"Everybody else get airborne immediately and let's go stop this army" The Royal Guard got excited and started cheering since they wanted to see some action, and now they will finally get it

Maximus took off on Balerion followed by 1000 of his Royal Guard while the other 500 were at Castle Black.

1000 of His Royal Guards were way more than enough to destroy the enemy army since all of them were Asgardians and very powerful Race of warriors who have lots of abilities such as super Human Strength, Superhuman Speed, and Superhuman durability making them basically immune to all physical attacks.

He Probably only needed 100 of them to destroy Stannis whole army, or maybe even less than that.

After flying for a few minutes, Stannis army was in view, which was a large army of horsemen and some infantry along with archers.

Melisandre who was on one of the ships which was on the shore had felt that something bad was going to happen to Stannis and his army. So she looked out the Window, and she saw what was the cause of this feeling she had
