One Last Time

After spending half a day in the med bay, Kita finally returned to his Lab. Contradictory to what other may think, he didn't get a wink of sleep after York had left him. He had basically spent the whole time planning out his plan of action. He was so excited after he found out about the Funeral that he couldn't sleep after that. So he had basically finalized his plan of action.

As he approached the terminal, he first checked on the progress of the Anti-matter production. Fortunately, it had went smoothly. Everything had gone according to plan and there was no 500 grams of Kenon inside the chamber.

Kita quickly put on some gloves before he opened up the chamber. A tray slid out with a cubical container on it. Inside this cube was 500 grams of Kenon. The prefect counterpart to Xenon.

Kita picked up the cube with a steady hand. As he brought the cube to his face, he could see the Kenon floating inside the chamber. It was perfectly suspended inside the chamber. As Kita looked at it, he found it to be something familiar. There was something about it that he had seen before. The Kenon glowed with the same strange Orange hue that was abundant on B1. It was the same shade and the glow was really similar.

Did it mean anything?

Perhaps.

But Kita didn't have any time to investigate it any further. He needed to finish his preparations. He only had about an hour.

He quickly put the Cube aside and rushed towards another machine. It was a printer. There he found the cage that he had designed to house the Cube inside the Fritzer.

It was ready for use. He picked it up and then walked towards a table. From the scattered parts and different equipment on it, one could guess that it was basically an assembling desk. Kita quickly finished up assembling and wiring up the cage. As he pressed the button. The cage showed activity. It was ready for it's task.

That was good.

Kita put aside the cage and quickly started on building another device. He already had the necessary schematics so it didn't take him too long. After some time the device was ready. Kita took the Cage and the device that he had just created and walked towards the table where he had put the cube. He put the 3 things side by side. All of these things were necessary to his plan.

With these things ready he was basically ready for his mission. But the time wasn't right. There was still a bit of time to spare. So Kita decided to take a shower.

Kita didn't go back to his stateroom. Just thinking about the Stateroom filled him up with grief. He couldn't go back there when there was no on waiting for him.

He opted to take a bath inside the lab. As this was Kita's personal Lab, it came equipped with all the facilities and a fresh set of his cloths.

As he entered the Bathroom, he began to remove all the cloths that he was wearing. He began to remove his upper wear before removing the skin-layer. As he striped bare, he looked at himself in the floor to celling mirror.

Kita wasn't the most handsome in the room. Neither was he ugly. He had a normal yet forgettable face. He had good physique which he maintained as a result of Helen's demands. She wanted him to take care of his health no matter what.

As researchers, both of them were required to spend a large amount of time glued to their desks. This could have noticeable impacts on their bodies. So Helen demanded that both of them looked after their health no matter what. As a result of that, Kita had to maintain a good physique. He had a slight six-packs and a muscular build.

Kita looked at himself in the mirror for a bit. He felt something was off. He couldn't pinpoint what. So after staring at himself for a bit, he proceeded towards the shower.

He set the shower to the coldest setting and started soaking.

Freezing water began to pour on him. The hair follicles in his body visibly stood up. Yet, he didn't feel anything. Slowly his whole body turned a bit red as his heart pumped faster and faster trying to heat up his body. But he didn't feel anything from it.

To him it was basically like normal room temperature water. He took a long shower. After that he dried himself off and then put on a fresh set of suit. As he went to put on his comm, he saw a notification on it.

There was a package at the door for him. He quickly got out of the bathroom and then proceeded towards the door. He opened it up and saw a man standing with a box in his hands. He received it with a smile and then went back inside.

There was a box and an small metallic container inside it. The box looked like a jewelery box. Kita's eyes turned from sharp to soft in the span of a moment. He gently took out the Box and the container as if it was his most precious possession in this entire universe.

Inside the container was Helen's Ashes. Her body had been cremated and inside it was the remains. He sat down as he held the container. Suddenly his legs felt like twigs. Almost as if they had become jelly. All the strength left his legs.

After looking at the container for a moment, he looked at smaller box. He set aside the container and picked up the box.

As he opened it, inside it was a necklace with a stunning blue emerald shaped diamond. This Diamond was made from Helen's ashes. Kita had specifically requested to be made blue. Blue was Helen's favorite color.

Kita picked it up and put it around his neck. He felt a sense of warmth that had left him return. He wasn't sure of his feelings. But having the necklace around him calmed him down. It was like he had finally found the piece of himself that he had lost.

Kita suddenly stood up.

His eyes full of determination.

He looked at the time, it was almost approaching. Kita quickly moved towards the table where he had all the things.

There was a small utility belt around his hip. It was small and wasn't noticeable. He quickly picked up the cage first. He pressed a button and it folded itself into a small card sized box that could be easily carried. After that, he picked up the cube and put it inside of a special chamber in the belt.

After that he picked up the other device and installed it under his comm, it wasn't noticeable at all.

With that. He was a man of action.

Kita moved towards the terminal. He didn't know what would happen after this. So he decided to destory everything related to Anti-matter now when he had the chance. He took one last looked at the machine before he initiated the purging process. All the files, data, schematics and everything was being deleted from all the computers in the Lab. Nothing Kita had created after the incident survived. Including all the logs.

Kita then moved towards the machine. He opened up his comm and ordered 2 bots to pick it up and then throw it into the smelter. It would melt down the machine as if it never existed.

After confirming the Machine was successfully thrown in, he turned to leave the lab.

Before exiting, he took one last look around the Lab. He was pretty sure that he wouldn't be coming back here. So he reminisced about it one last time before he exited it for the last time. There was no turning back now.
