Nothing to Show

What Luna said was simply too unbelievable. Anti-Matter was something that eluded the brightest minds of humankind and Humankind itself for thousands of year. Nobody had managed to sustain anti-matter for more than a couple of seconds in this galaxy.

Then how could've Dr. Kita achieved this?

"Have you checked your theory with simulations?" Dr. Aeon asked.

"Yes, After I changed the payload of the warhead with about 3 Kilograms of Anti-matter. The planet was destroyed. And with a similar pattern as to the real one." Luna confirmed her theories with simulation results.

That sent the whole room into an uproar. But the person most agitated by this was Dr. Ridgar. He couldn't believe what he was seeing and hearing.

He had dedicated more than half of his life in search of Anti-matter. No someone had beaten him to it? How could this be? He simply couldn't accept it.

So he quickly tried to voice his question. Which was dimmed by the room. So he got up from his seat, And began walking towards the center of the room.

All the eyes fell on him.

Why was he walking towards the middle? People could guess. But that was still restricted. Nobody had done something like this before.

Seeing Dr. Ridgar approach the central stage, a group of guards walked in front of him to stop him.

"Do you know who I am? I just wanna talk with Dr. Aeon"

"That needs to wait until you the summit is finished. Please go back to your seat." The guard sternly replied.

"But I...."

"Please return to your seat."

Seeing that he couldn't get past the guard, Dr. Aeon wasn't saying anything, he gave up for now and returned to his seat.

After this short fiasco, the presentation continued.

"So, Dr. Luna, What's your conclusion?" Dr. Aeon asked directly.

"My Conclusion is, Dr. Kita has managed to find a way to sustainably produce and store Anti-matter." Luna said in a direct voice while keeping a blank face. She knew just how big of an announcement it was. Depending on how Dr. Aeon Flux reacted, Many things could change for this research facility and for humanity as a whole.

Everyone in the room understood that if the empire managed to harness this power, they could lord of many of humanities rivals and maybe even wipe them out.

This was huge. As the Imperial researcher, Dr. Aeon was capable to convince the emperor to adapt this technology.

But before that, There remained an important job.

They had to get their hands on the Anti-matter technology first.

"Okay, Thank you for your presentation Dr. Luna." Dr. Aeon thanked her.

That was her cue to leave the stage.

So she quickly gave a bow and left to seat beside her mentor.

As she took the seat, Dr. Yriggs said.

"You've done a great job."

"Thank you."

"So, this concludes the summit." Dr. Aeon said as he got up and began walking out of the room.

Everybody was surprised. It seemed that he wouldn't be giving them a chance to ask questions about such a huge revelation.

Everyone watched in quite as he walked out of the room with his entourage.

A few guards approached Dr. Yriggs and Luna and escorted them out of the room.

From their act, everyone could guess that Dr. Aeon didn't want to spread this too much.

Soon, everyone dispersed and the Summit room went back to it's silent state.

As Dr. Ridgar was about to go to see the Chief when he was surrounded by a group of guards. Suddenly getting surrounded by so many guards spooked him a bit. But it didn't seem like something dangerous.

"Dr. Ridgar, We need you to come with us. Dr. Aeon calls for you." One of the guards spoke from within his helmet.

Dr. Ridgar looked at the guard for a moment in shock. He was just about to go meet the chief to see if he could have a meeting with Dr. Aeon. He didn't expect to be called by Dr. Aeon himself.

He gave a slight nod and began to follow the Guards.

After He entered the expansive Office of Dr. Aeon, he could see that he and a few others were sitting around a table discussing something.

He didn't waste any time and quickly approached the table.

"Dr. Ridgar. Please take a seat." Dr. Aeon instructed before he could say anything.

He stopped what he was about to say and took a seat.

"Tell me, What do you think about the situation? Do you think that it's plausible that Dr. Kita has managed to achieve something that you and you're team has been working towards for the past decade?" Dr. Aeon asked as he looked straight at him.

Dr. Ridgar looked down. He couldn't look straight at him. He knew that he had let him down.

The only reason He was in this facility was to find a way to create Anti-matter in a sustainable manner. Dr. Aeon had provided him with countless amounts of resources towards achieving this goal. But He had let the man down. After more than a decade, He had nothing much to show for it.

"Well, No point in looking into this anymore. We know someone who has managed what you couldn't for more than a decade. We need to get our hands on the technology. No matter what."

This sent Dr. Ridgar into panic. If Dr. Aeon managed to get his hands on this technology, then his place in this facility would be mute. He would be kicked out and replaced with someone else.

He couldn't let that happen! He needed to do something. He needed to do something fast.

"Dr. Aeon. If I may. Please give me another chance. I'd like to make contact with Dr. Kita and try to convince him."

"Huh? You think you can do that?" Dr. Aeon looked amused. He knew that he was talking out of desperation.

"How will you do that?" He asked.

"I.... I'll figure something out."

"You will huh? Okay, let's give you another chance. Either figure out how to create Antimatter in a sustainable manner or figure out how he did it and replicate it. No matter what. You have 6 months." He said as he looked at him with a piercing look.

"You may leave now." He said afterwards.

Dr. Ridgar took his leave.

"Dr. Luna. Thanks for your amazing work in figuring out this event. I'm quite impressed." Dr. Aeon spoke as he looked towards Luna.

"Thank you. It's my honor." She replied.

"Now, Here's what I need you to do next...." Dr. Aeon smiled as he explained his plan to Luna.
