Party Plans

A couple of days later Lloyd and I were watching a movie. I snuggled against him and he chuckled. "The movie isn't that scary," he murmured.

I snorted. "I'm not scared. I've survived things that are scarier the IT. I just like cuddling with you."

"So you jumped for no reason when IT appeared?" He asked raising an eyebrow.

"I didn't jump, I moved," I said with as much dignity as I could.

He snorted. "Sure."

I got up and stretched. "I'm heading out for a walk."

"Again? Are the girls still trying to change your mind?"

I shook my head. "No, I just need a moment to myself." I was starting to miss Hydra again.

He looked unhappy with that. His tail was lashing through the air in unhappiness too. "You know you can talk to me right?"

I gave him a small smile. "I know. But you said I could have those moments, Lloyd."

He sighed. "I know and you can. I just want you to talk to me."

"And I will. When I'm ready to discuss it with you." I grabbed my coat and left the monastery. I walked along the main street and stopped for a minute in front of a store. It was going to be Lloyd's birthday in two days and I still haven't gotten him a present. I shrugged and went inside. I went to the dragon section and looked at the miniature dragon statues they had. I found a green one and bought it. Then I went to Mystake and had a cup of remembrance tea to remember the good times I had with Hydra.

"There you are!" Nya said coming inside.

Damn. "What's up?" I asked.

"Have you..."

"I haven't changed my mind," I said cutting her off. "If you want something to plan, Nya, then plan Lloyd's birthday party."

She frowned. "Lloyd doesn't like celebrating his birthday."

"Try telling that to Misako," I grumbled. "I got wrapped into helping with it."

She chuckled. "Misako doesn't change her mind once it's been made up."

"Yeah."

"So the bag is Lloyd's present?"

I nodded. "I don't know if he'll like it but at least I tried, right?"

She nodded. "Better to try than not try at all."

I raised an eyebrow. "Did you just quote Master Wu?"

She blinked. "Did I?"

"Yup. He told me that a few days ago."

Harumi, Skylar, and Pixel came in. "Hey, you two," Skylar said.

"Hi," I muttered. "We're discussing the birthday party Misako's planning for Lloyd."

"Misako is planning a party for Lloyd?" Pixel asked.

"Yeah."

"I thought he didn't like celebrating his birthday," Herumi said frowning.

I snorted. "Again I say, try telling that to Misako."

"Yeah, you have no luck of doing that," Skylar said. "So what did you get him?"

"A green dragon" I mumbled.

"He'll probably like that."

"That just leaves the rest of us to find a present for him," Nya said sighing. "and he's a difficult person to shop for."

"Weapons, dragons, and comic books are all things he likes," I told them. "Maybe you guys could find one of those for him."

"He likes mechs too," Pixel said thoughtfully. "Zane and I could build him one."

I nodded. "Sounds good."

"Jay and I call comic books!" Nya said making Skylar scowl at her.

"Morro and I call weapons," Harumi said grinning when Skylar turned her scowl to her.

"That's not fair!" Skylar said. "That leaves dragons and Y/n already has that!"

"You and Kai could get him some video games?" I suggested.

"Yes! Kai and I will do that." She ran out of the tea shop.

The others followed making me laugh. I got up and went to the monastery and ran into Lloyd. "Hey," I said hiding the bag behind my back.

He cocked his head to the side. "What's that?"

"Nothing."

"Y/n, I can tell when you're lying."

"Stupid dragon senses," I muttered. "I can't tell you or Misako will flay me alive."

His eyes narrowed. "What's my mom planning?"

I looked everywhere but at him. "Nothing."

"Y/n."

"Nope. It's a surprise."

Cole burst into the room. "Misako just told the rest of us what's happening! Y/n, I need your help."

I scowled at him. "Kind of busy at the moment," I said as I backed myself against the wall so Lloyd couldn't grab the bag.

"You helped the others!"

"They didn't talk to me while I was trying to hide something from my fiancee!"

"Please?"

"Just think of the things he likes," I said shaking my head at Lloyd as he tried to get me to turn around.

Cole frowned. "Hmm." Then his eyes brightened. "Oh, I know!" He ran out of the room.

"Y/n," he growled.

I slipped past him and shut our bedroom door. I had it hidden before he came into the room. I watched his eyes look everywhere and when they settled on me I smirked. "Can't find it? Good."

He sighed. "Fine. But at least tell me what my mom's planning."

I shook my head. "No. If I do it will spoil the surprise and I'd be a dead woman."

"My mom won't have to know."

"She'll know when you don't act surprised!"

Misako came in. "Oh, dear. Lloyd, are you trying to get Y/n to tell you what's going on?"

I nodded. "Yes! But I haven't told him, I swear."

She smiled. "You can tell him. It will be a surprise as is without him being in the dark." She left the room.

I stared after her. Did she just through me to the wolves? Oh, wait. I mean. did she just throw me to the dragon? I looked at Lloyd and he raised an eyebrow. I sighed. "She's throwing a birthday party for you."

His eyes narrowed. "I don't celebrate my birthday."

"Well, you will this year."

He growled. "No."

I snorted. "If you think you can change your mind then by all means be my guest. I've tried and she didn't budge." He left the room and came back an hour later. I put my bookmark into my book and looked at him with a raised eyebrow. "So?" I asked. He growled and lay down beside me. I chuckled. "I'm going to take that as a no."

"It should be my choice," he said grumpily.

I started running my fingers through his hair. "Not when your mother's around." He twisted and pulled me on top of him. I glared. "Lloyd." He smirked and kissed me. I fought for only a minute before I melted into the kiss. I bit his lip ordering him to give me entrance. His mouth slid open and I ran my tongue against his. Then he pushed my tongue back into my mouth and ran his tongue along mine. I fought to try to gain control then moaned when he moved his left hand in circles on my hip. I broke the kiss. "Fine, you win," I panted. "But there's nothing I can do about your mom."

He let me go back to my side of the bed. "I know."

I laid my head on his shoulder and fell asleep thinking that I was glad I wasn't the one that planned this party.
