Dawn of a New Venture

Blue and the demon were facing with each other. However, the Masked demon was now wary and about to turn tails.

Blue made his move and casually strolled towards the Masked Demon, the demon got frightened, he spun and hobbled away. In a flash, Blue appeared close to him and kicked the demon on his side, the demon got toppled over, slumping on the ground.

Blue snorted in dismay, he pointed his sharp nails unto the demon. "I thought you were gonna show me your strongest attack."

The demon quickly stood back. "It's more important if I tell the higher ups than die here."

Blue cackled. "I never thought you know how to use your head. Then, we have a deal, I'll spare you, just show me your strongest attack."

On the sides, Celina sat as she worriedly gazed at the two, she sprang up and called him. "Blue, we can't let him go!" She said.

Blue turned his head to her. "Shut up woman, I have something to talk with you later. It's better you should move back, I can't let you die here."

The masked demon rose his finger and a dark sphere was growing on his finger tips. Celina widened her eyes, she knew something was about to go off, if the demon's magic were to hit Blue, surely she would be caught up with the explosion.

She whirled, then sprinted as far as she could, she didn't even look back. All she could think of were the losses she incurred on this day, her face crumpled as tears sprinkled from her eye.

As Blue looked at the girl, he noticed she had already maintained a safe distance, he then stared at the masked demon. "Now go at it."

"Why would a being like you care about that woman?" The masked demon said.

Blue gave a haughty smile. "Well, because it seems her magic have a different effect on my body."

"I see, she's a light mage and I presume you are a force of darkness. It's true she would be a dangerous threat to us demons if she were to reach her potential. However right now she's but an ant, it's the perfect oppurtunity to dispose of her." The demon replied.

"I'm sorry, but I won't allow any of you touch her unless I can guarantee my death." Blue said.

The masked demon grunted. "You're an odd one, everyone is seeking immortality and here you are finding a way to kill yourself."

Blue scowled heavily, he clenched his fist. "You people are idiots do you know the pain of eternity. Every second, every day it hurts, nothing matters anymore because anyone you care about, anyone you know about, will eventually die."

The masked demon laughed, his confidence went back up. "Pathetic, I used to respect you, I'm now disappointed, I thought you were cold and ambitious. In the end you're just a human swayed by his emotions. You should have chosen to rise above everything else."

"Shut up, just throw your magic at me." Blue said as he clenched his fist.

The dark ball has now grown into a giant sphere about fifteen meters across, it loomed over Blue who stood still unwavered.

"I'm more than inclined to do so." The demon said and swayed his finger towards Blue.

The ball slowly made its descent, it swallowed Blue whole then the ball swelled up, bursting outwards and released a tremendous tremor that shook the leaves of the swamp. Heavy curtains of dust plumed upwards, mixing with the fog in the area.

The masked demon snickered. "Are you still there?"

The dust slowly faded, after it finally settled down, Blue was still standing however the right side of his body was missing, most of his skin have been peeled off revealing a portion of his flesh and bones. In a sudden, blue flames covered his body, reverting him back until no scratch was found on his skin.

The masked demon placed a step backward. "Tsk, you really are truthful, there is no way to kill you."

Blue gave a piercing glare that held no remorse. "That was powerful but your magic wasn't anything special, the woman's abilities however managed to suppress my ability for a bit. Now get out of here before I change my mind."

The demon trembled a bit then quickly fleed from the scene.

Blue sighed, he tucked his arms in his pockets then walked away. Celina stood on his path, her eyebrows were furrowed and she was obviously displeased.

"Why did you let that middle class demon go? If he comes back, the demons will hunt us, and I'll be in danger if they know I'm still alive." Celina said worriedly.

Blue calmly strolled towards her. "Do not fret, I want them to come at me and have them give it their all. And if you're worried don't worry, I'll protect you."

Blue then gripped her arm tightly and dragged her with him. "Woman, we have no time to waste, we shall unseal your power."

Celina tried to resist and she slapped his arm off. "Wait, I'm not going anywhere."

"What!" Blue said in a strong tone.

Celina retrieved her arm, she turned around, and then left him. "It's obvious, I would set a burial to my men, if we're gonna leave them here, their souls won't be at peace."

Blue scowled as he gazed over his shoulders looking to her. "Just leave them here they are already dead."

Celina snorted as though annoyed and ignored him.

Blue smacked his lips as he ended up following her tracks. "Tsk, it seems waiting for two years is probably a better choice."

When Celina reached the crumbled cave, her eyes quivered upon seeing the burnt corpses of her men. She sniffled a bit then started carrying them, she awkwardly lifted their upper bodies while letting their legs slide on the ground. Anyhow, she managed to arrange their bodies right in the open.

Blue leaned his back upon a tree, his bored face blankly stared at her as she digged on the dirt using a blade and her arm. She had barely made any progress, since it was still a shallow pit that could only bury a cat, however she didn't gave up.

She wallowed upon the dirt as she tried to make a hole, smudges of stains filled his cheeks as she tried to rub her sweat. Her robe were now a mess as though she just swam on a mud. The ground here was wet after all.

Hours passed, she only managed to make five holes, Blue got irked and stood up. He approached her side. "Move, seeing you like this is painful for my eyes." He said roughly.

Celina snorted as she continued digging. "I won't ask for help from someone who threatens to kill the entire humanity."

"Look woman, every second you waste here also affects me." Blue said.

"And? What are you gonna do about it?" Celina said.

Blue casted a glare upon her. "I'm gonna drag you to that city with my own hands." He said coldly.

Celina sighed. "Anyway, why do you even want to die? Many kings and warriors have been seeking for eternal youth."

"Trust me, eternal life will only drive you to insanity." Blue said.

"Is that everything you want to say? Because, I'm working here and give me some space will you." Celina said.

"Woman if you're gonna mess with me, I just might drag you to the City." Blue said.

"Hmph, try doing that then I will readily refuse your request. If you want to trade you must first respect your partner's bargain. And you're not the only one who's in a hurry, I need to get stronger as well and prevent the Vanquisher's revival." Celina said.

Blue crossed his arms, he then smirked. "Then if you want to trade, accept this deal, if you can't kill me within two years, I'll start killing you and everyone else."

Celina paused her work for a bit, she then frowned unto him. "Yeah, I accept, In fact I can't wait to kill you myself." She said.

Blue snickered, he turned around. "Then you better hurry up, you have a time limit." He said before trailing off.

He then ceased his steps for a moment. "Woman, tell me your name." He said.

"Celina, the Light Wielder." She said as though she was forced to.

"Blue Soul Vampire, you can call me Blue." He said and then continued walking.

Celina looked away as though displeased. "I know a monster when I see one." She said then continued on her work.

The grey sky slowly darkened until the vast sky became jet black with a shimmering star field. The thickened fog covered their vicinity, and the cold air stung Celina's exposed skin, she shivered as she tried to bury the last body, all she had to do was to push the mound of dirt into the hole. When she was done, she slouched her head, closed her eyes and then held her arms infront of her chest.

"Rest in peace, may you live joyfully in Shahal for eternity." She prayed in a soothing tone.

In a sudden, her balance fell and she collapsed unto the ground, she noticed she couldn't bring herself to move, her worn out body have reached its limits it seems. She closed her eyes tightly and finally rested herself.

**

It was black.

Celina could hear the wind whistling on her ear, she heard a muffling noise as though it was a flap of the wings. When she slowly lifted her eyelids she saw Blue's determined face, she gasped when she realized they were very high up, then she squirmed around as she panicked. She fidgeted, and fell from Blue's grip, she then plummetted from the sky.

Blue scowled then glided down to catch her quick, he then grabbed her waist tight and he was forced to bring her to the ground. "What's wrong with you woman?"

Celina dropped herself to the ground, she were on her fours quivering as she panted. "That scared me, whew."

"What?" Blue raised his eyebrow.

"I'm afraid of heights." Celina said.

Blue held a dubious look. "Really? Or do you just wish to delay me?"

Celina's face started to sweat. "I'm being truthful." She said windedly.

"Then we'll fly very low." Blue said.

Celina stood back up to her full height, she puffed her chest up, she then nodded. "Okay let's do that."

Celina got carried on his arms, she tried her best to avoid looking into his cold eyes and gazed upon their path instead, right now there was nothing to fear since they were close to the ground.

However on the distance she gulped hard upon seeing they were about to ram into a thick crowd of tall trees. She chuckled nervously as she kept pulling on his sleeve. "Hey Blue I think we need to walk from here." She said with a shaky voice.

"No, we fly over the woods, or do you prefer we should cut through the forest?" Blue said.

The dark barked trees were soaring into the sky like towers, there was no way she would allow Blue to fly over it.

Her body slightly agitated, and when they got closer she flailed her entire body and, she got dropped and rolled upon the ground after landing.

Blue sneered as he landed close to her. "Fine we're gonna walk." He said as he quelled his rage.

Celina nodded with a sigh.

The woods crowded tightly that if they attempted to cut through it, Blue's wide wings would jostle upon the trunks and leaves.

Both entered the forest, Celina took the led, while Blue angrily followed behind her. "Anyway I think we're almost there." Celina said.

"The city of Lanzud?" Blue said.

Celina shook her head. "The town of Renza."

The early sun basked upon the woods, the beams of the sun pierced through the cracks of the forest, it slapped upon Blue's face however it didn't have any effect to him. "Hey you're a vampire right? Then why aren't you affected by the sun?" She said.

Blue held a frown. "Don't talk to me on such trivial things, I'm mad that you ate so much of time. Be thankful that you're a Light Mage otherwise..." His voice turned cold.

Celina rolled her eyes. "Maybe if you stop threatening me, I would be more cooperative." She said, then looked away and advanced her steps.

"Hmmph, stupid woman." He said as he followed her.
