Hum~ hum~ I wonder when father and Ren's coming home?

Yukari Otomi. She is the daughter of Zenkichi Otomi also known as The Oldman by Ren.

Unlike these two she isn't an exorcist, despite her innate enchanted power and family background.

Suddenly a ringing sounds entering her ears, she stops her dinner preparation and walk to the telephone to pick it up.

"Moshi-moshi, This is Otomi"

"Eh?"

"Wait! You already here?!"

"Why didn't you tell me before?!"

"Ah-mo!!" Yukari is pouting ( 'з' )

"Bye~"

Yukari put the telephone away, that man said he gonna visit her home soon.

Thanks to that, now she must add one more portion for dinner.

40 minutes later.

Yukari already prepare the foods and drinks on the table.

Yukari stretch her body a bit, preparing dinner is not a simple matter.

Suddenly, she hears her house bell ringings.

It must be him!

Yukari walk to the front door to greet him, but rather than that man, it was her father and Ren instead.

Her father for some reason had this pissed off expression on his face, while Ren had "this isn't my fault" expression on his face.

Looking at both of them she kinda had the gist of what's happen.

Her father's Kariginu is tidy and not dirty, but Ren? His kariginu is rugged, there are many cuts, and even dirt and red stains on it.

Even though she had guessed it she still proceeds to ask

"Eto... so what's happened?"

""Nothing!"" Both of them reply at the same time.

Yukari sigh and let them in.

Dinner!

For some peoples, a dinner is a time when you eat together happily with your family.

But not this.

Sounds of foods being munched is clearly heard, both Ren and Zenkichi are glaring fiercely at each other

A- Awkward!!

Yukari who eats with them feel pressured, the sounds of food being munched is getting louder and louder.

According to their stories. Both of them doing an exorcism at that currently famous abandoned hospital.

But something happens and Ren was transported to Magano, and fight a horde of impurities by himself.

Luckily, her father and the other exorcists come to his aid, and manage to exorcise all the impurities nesting on the abandoned hospital.

But the problem occur after, her father reprimands Ren for fighting alone and didn't request for back up, on the other hand Ren reply he already requests a backup but no one's answering, and call her father a slowpoke.

After that they both lashes at each other and resulting in this current situation.

Agh! I can't take it anymore!!

"Hey... father, Ren, did y-"

Just when Yukari want to speak, a sudden sounds of bell is ringing.

"Oh! Speak of the devil!"

Yukari walk to the front door, leaving Ren and Zenkichi alone.

Both of them wondering who is it. Next, a fair gentleman walk alongside Yukari surprising both Zenkichi and Ren.

"Satoshi?!"

"Satoshi-nii san?!"

Blond spiky hair, a pair of blue eyes with long eyelashes, a beautiful face that can pass as handsome, and some sort of aura that scream "i'm a good guy".

"Yo! Miss me?"

Satoshi Otomi. Zenkichi's eldest child and Yukari's older brother. Just like his father, Satoshi is an exorcist, a powerful one at that he pass the test to fight in the very frontline of humanity and impurity war.

His sudden visit made everyone surprised, according to him the reason he got back because he's escorting a VIP that came to do divination ceremony.

"Hmph! My time has come" say Ren proudly

"No you little, she was someone from Ayame City. Besides whom wants a reckless child that can endanger himself and others?" say Satoshi teasingly.

"Tch"

"Beside, those guys already left for the island"

"Hm? Then why are you still here?" Ask Oldman Zenkichi

"Of course because I miss my family"

"Before they left I ask them if I can stay with my family for tonight, and they say Okay"

"You should invite them to stay! Maybe they would perform a divination ceremony for me"

Looking at the irritated Ren, Satoshi pats his head "Don't worry in 2 or 3 years you can go to the island. Beside...."

Ren struggle to get off from Satoshi's patting, but looking at the frown Satoshi he stops struggling and ask "Beside what?"

"Satoshi only smile "No. It's nothing"

"Tch, spill it out would you?!" and Ren get back to his irritated self.

"Hahaha" The three of them laugh at Ren.

After dinner, all of them go to their respective room.

Ren who still remember Satoshi's face when he gonna talk about the island made him restless.

I wonder why? When it comes to Tsuchimikado Island he never wants to divulge further?

What kind of experiences... No! I should have straightout ask him!!

Satoshi hasn't slept yet, rather he was enjoying reading Kochikame manga.

"Fufu, sure enough leave it to Kochikame for a good la-"

A knocking sounds was heard disturbing Satoshi, he had one to three guesses who would disturb him right now.

"Ren right? Come, it's not locked"

A spiky hair youth open the door, Satoshi put away his manga.

"Do you need something?"

Ren scratch his head, he embarrassed for disturbing Satoshi "Yeah..."

"I just want to know what do you want to say at dinner today"

Satoshi smiles toward Ren "Fufu, I see"

"Ren. What do you know about Tsuchimikado Island?"

"Huh?" Ren tilt his head sideways, he surprised he was the one who being questioned by Satoshi instead.

"Well…"

Ren answer Satoshi question.

Tsuchimikado Island, is an island where The Exorcist Headquarter's located, it is also the place where strong exorcists born and gather.

Not only that, based on what Oldman Zenkichi told him it also the place where the real battlefield between humanity and impurity take place for a thousand years, and the result from the war would- no! It decides the fate of humanity as a whole.

"Something... like that"

Satoshi nodded at Ren's answer.

"Ren what do you think about impurity?"

"An abhorrent mindless monster beneath cockroaches that like to eat human!"

Satoshi let out a bit of chuckles, while Ren confused by his behavior.

"Ren, do you think we... human and impurity coul-"

"Not possible!"

Sure enough, a flat yet straight answer

"I see, why do you think of that?"

Ren clench his fists, and grits his teeth, a bulging vein appear on his forehead "Like I said they..... are a scourge! A pest that threatened us! And! And! They are the one who! Who... (who take her from me)... They don't deserve to live!!!"

Ren remembers the day he watches his mother die. His mother killed by an impurity and then eaten alive in front of him.

He was weak and powerless in front of the impurity.

To this day he still remembers that event, and he still cursed and scorn himself for being weak and the impurity that snatch his mother.

"I see" Satoshi close his eyes

Sure enough... his answer is the same as them

"Why are you questioning me those things?!!" Ren ask Satoshi, he still irritated by the question.

"Tch! I'm leaving! Sorry to bother you"

Ren turn back, he already grab the door's handle ready to close it and return to his room.

"Wait!" Satoshi shouts to Ren

Ren's movement stop, he looks back at Satoshi "What is it?!"

"Ren, you are strong kid even more skilled than I was your age. If- if something happen to me could you... (protect father and Yukari in my place?)

Satoshi shakes his head "Nah, it's nothing"

Just talk about it wouldn't you?!

Think Ren.

"Tch!" Ren close the door and return to his room still irritated.

Satoshi's look at the closed door, his smile disappear from his face.

"Ren... would you believe me that not all impurity is like what you describe?"

Would you believe me that the impurity can feel like us human?

"..... What am I thinking? I'm an exorcist with duty to exorcise the impurity. But.... no, stop it"

Satoshi picks up his Kochikame manga, he needs some distraction right now.

Ren laying on his bed, he's thinking about the conversations with Satoshi before.

[What do you think about impurity?]

"Abhorrent creature!" Say Ren confidently

[Ren, do you think we human and impurity could...]

What?! Coexist?! No way!! Don't give me that crap!! Did you forget how many peoples die at the hand of impurity?!!

Did you forget what the impurity did to your friends?

I wonder if he wants me to protect The Oldman and Yukari-nee san?

Ren's eyebrows frown, and grits his teeth.

Forget it! I can ask him next time
