Chapter Twenty-nine

Bella liked the fact that Chris pulled her in for a warm hug because it felt so nice and she could listen to how fast his heart was beating. She loved the fact that he felt so concerned.

She could smell his cologne. She was trying really hard to believe him, she wanted to believe his words but she  couldn't bring herself to.

Bella's 6am alarm went off on my phone and the immediately broke apart from the hug.

They didn't even realise that they've spoken that long. Bella knew she needed to catch some sleep before the tour with her friends.

They agreed to meet at the lobby by 11am . Nadia promised to take them to see the Statue of Liberty, the popular Brooklyn Bridge and the Central Park.

They whole member of the crew knew they had to be back at the hotel latest by 3pm to enable them prepare for their flight back to London.

So far Bella has really enjoyed her stay aside the fact that she found out about some really important details that has really hurt her feelings.

Bella got back to my room and went straight to bed since she was already in my pyjamas. She really wished for her memory to come back because if it doesn't she felt like she might end up resenting Chris and even Bianca's husband Austin for leaving her all alone at the event.

She thought she was supposed to be his responsibility and he was supposed to keep an eye on her but he  left her in the hands of a total stranger,she honestly didn't think she could forgive him for that if she didn't remember what happened.

Bella woke up to a very loud banging on her door but she couldn't hear the voices because the room was sound proofed. She checked the time on her phone and it was almost twelve noon.  She rushed out of bed to get the door because she knew it must be Alexia or Nadia.

"Oh my God Christal you're still in your PJ." Alexia said making her way into Bella's room.

"We've been waiting for you since, we've called you severally but no response so we taught maybe something bad happened to you." Nadia said also walking into the room

"Did you forget about our appointment this morning?" Alexia asked.

"No guys, am so sorry. I slept off and didn't even hear my alarm go off plus my phone was on Do not disturb, am really sorry." Bella said sincerely.

Both Nadia and Alexia pushed Bella into the bathroom.

"Enough of the apologies Ella go take your bath." Nadia said closing the bathroom door.

Bella went straight to shower when she entered the bathroom, the water was warm and she felt so refreshed.

Everything Chris told her earlier that day came flashing back into my memory. She felt filthy that she washed her body severally like it'd make every go away.

"Ella, you're taking too long! Nadia shouted enough for Bella to hear

Bella knew she had to push the thought back in if she really wanted to enjoy the tour with her friends.

She picked out a white long sleeve top and a faded blue crazy jeans trouser and brown mid-heel ankle-length boots. She carried her mini purse bag to top up her look. Bella had barely enough time to get dressed talk less of doing her makeup so she just brushed her hair and left with the girls.

They got to the hotel lobby at exactly twelve noon and Bella could see how Lilian was looking at Desmond, it was so obvious that she had a crush on him.

Princely on the other hand couldn't take his eyes off Alexia and Alexia just kept blushing.

"Something must have happened between those two for them to be looking at each other like that." Bella smiled at the thought of it because it was really cute to watch.

Liam volunteered to drive while Nadia sat with him in front to direct him. Bella sensed some kind of positive vibes with those two as well.

"Did something happen with the six of you that I don't know of?" Bella blurted out without thinking.

"What do you mean?" Desmond asked wondering what Bella was talking about

"It's nothing." She replied with a smile.

They played series of music and we all sang along. The ride to the Statue of Liberty was really fun for Bella and others  unlike when they arrived in New York.  It wasn't really fun for them because they were still getting to know each other but they were all relaxed now after last night tour and they all got along really well with Bella.

Bella heard her phone ring. The call was from an unknown number.

"Look behind you" Chris said still holding his phone to his ears.

Bella looked back swiftly while Chris  waved at her.

"What are you doing here!? Bella said smiling unconsciously

"Can't I have fun as well?" Chris replied with a puppy face

It was the first time Bella saw Chris in a causal outfit. He was always dressed in his suit even when he's inside the house.

Bella thought Chris looked hotter now that he dressed casually.  He wore a Black shirt and left three of his button open that made him hotter that ladies could not help but drool.

Chris wore a black trouser and a pair of black shoes . His hair was neatly styled as always and  Bella was really mesmerised with this handsome creation in front of her and she couldn't help but smile.

Bella was so lost in Chris world that she didn't even notice when Chris got to her front. He tapped her since she was just staring at him without breaking eye contact

"Missed me?" Chris said smiling.

Before Bella could respond she remembered the things they talked about in the morning and she instantly had a mood swing. Chris noticed the sudden change in her mood and asked

"

Are you okay?"

"Obviously not .she replied mentally but answered Chris with

"Yes am fine".

Bella was trying to replace the hurt she felt because deep down she knew everything was totally not his fault.

She knew she was at fault too and she blamed herself for taking liquor.

Others noticed Chris and greeted him.

He noticed the awkwardness in their behaviour because he was around. They were all looking at Bella with a weird expression like why on earth did you invite this guy? 

Bella immediately understood their look and signaled to them that she didn't invite him.

"You guys don't have to be awkward around me. Am here to have fun. I was actually looking for you guys when Elliot told me you guys were here and I thought that I could hang out with you guys so I came." Chris said.

Elliot has been Chris personal assistant for 10 years now. He started working for Chris even before he took over his Dad's company.

After a while everyone loosened up, it almost felt like Chris wasn't in the picture. They all got to see a totally different Chris . He was so playful and nobody could have imagined that he could crack serious jokes.

They went to Brooklyn Bridge and the Central Park before heading back to our hotel rooms to prepare for their flight back to London.
