Chapter Six

Bella was asked to resume training immediately after graduation at Hampson Aviation School and the whole process had been amazing for her. She was really hoping that she'd pass the whole process so that she can get employed at Hampson Airways immediately after her graduation. She has been working really hard and have been studying a lot about aircrafts.

She got to meet new people during the process of the training. A number of people refused to talk to her and a good number of them look at her with disgust, not that she cares though but it just felt weird to her. She doesn't seem to understand why people felt like not talking to her, even when she says hi most of them will just ignore her. A good number of them at that. Luckily for her she got to make friends with two people in her class, Alexia and Liam. They were really good people and they've made the training fun for her so far. They would always talk back at anyone who tries to look at her some kind of way. They assured her that others were only jealous of her. Liam wouldn't stop saying she's the hottest girl in the room and most times Alex would agree.

Bella heard her phone ring so she decided to pick the call. The call was from an unknown number so she decided to let the person speak first, it was like an habit for her to always allow the person calling her talk first, especially when the call is from a strange number.

" Hello am I on to miss Walter?"

"Yes." She replied.

"Am calling you from the ER at Wilson Hospital. Your mum Vera Walter suddenly fainted and was rushed in. Your attention is needed immediately because we need you to sign some documents for surgery if you want to save her life." The caller said

"What on earth did I just hear? My mum needs surgery?" Bella asked

"Yes ma'am and you really need to hurry." The caller replied

Tears started streaming down Bella's cheek as she packed her belongings to leave for the hospital.

Bella has noticed her in pain like twice when she coughs. She knew her mum was no longer  eating well but she thought her mum was on diet so she didn't pay too much attention to it.

" I should have paid better attention to her health. " Bella said.

Bella ran as fast as her legs could take her. It almost felt like it was clerk kent in smallville movie that was running . Her eyes were filled with hot tears, she couldn't think straight, she just kept running because Taxi's were not allowed in the school. She heard a loud sound of a car halting.

" Oh my goodness I almost got hit by a car." Bella said in fear.

Before she knew it she came face to face with Christian.

"What on earth is wrong with you, are you trying to get yourself killed?" he shouted at her.

Tears kept streaming down her eyes because she couldn't  explain herself. She was mad at herself, she was mad at Christian for taking Dylla away from her. The thought of loosing her mum was really terrifying, she  just 23. Her brothers were still in school. She can't afford to loose her mum. She had a whole lot of mixed feelings so she couldn't put them into words, she just kept crying.

Christian's eyes became really soft and he just hugged her tight, caressing her hair. It was like a silent comfort. His touch was soothing to her skin, it made her feel safe.

"My mum, the hospital." She finally got the voice to talk.

"What?" Christian asked.

"My mum is at the hospital." She repeated. He just held her close to his side and led her to the back-sit of his black 2021 Range Rover Sport.

He got into the other side of the back sit and signaled to his driver to move. "Where are we heading to sir?" The driver asked. "Wilson Hospital." Bella replied. Bella just sat there in complete silence hoping and praying for her mum's  recovery. She doesn't even know the nature of her sickness so she was really scared.

Chris held her hands tight through out the ride to the hospital. He couldn't just leave her to deal with the whole situation all by herself so he made a call to cancel the rest of his appointment for the day and followed Bella.

Bella got down swiftly and ran to the hospital lobby as soon as her legs touched the ground and shouted thank you.

"I got a call that my mum was in the ER." Bella said breathless.

"Her name?" The receptionist asked.

"Vera Walter." Bella replied

"Room 497 but you have to fill this paperwork before you go." The receptionist said

Bella filled the paperwork and ran to the room where her mum was. She was breathless by the time she got to her mum.

She didn't bother to call her  brothers because she didn't want them to be worried. They were both in the middle of their first semester exams and she doesn't want to distract them, at least not until she knows what happened to her mum.

She entered the room where her mum was and saw on Ventilator.

"How on earth did it get to this?" She asked herself with tears in her eyes. She was really scared that this might be the end. She went in to see the doctor and the doctor explained to her that her mum had appendicitis and it got ruptured so they needed to  remove it immediately with surgery. The doctor also assured her that her mum would be fine. She signed the necessary documents for the surgery and my mum was taken into the theatre for surgery.

Bella just sat there praying and hoping that her mum's surgery would be a success. She believes that no surgery is small and considering the fact that her mum's surgery was somehow complicated she was scared.
