Chapter 5

Jackson and I screamed.

"Delilah you bitch." I slurred

"I'm sorry I can't hear you." He laughed

"What?" I laughed

"I can't hear you." She repeated

"Oh." I laughed

"Wanna know what I can hear?" She asked

Jackson and I nodded.

"I hear people dying." She said

Jackson and I looked at each other. We where sitting in the woods far from the house. Branches cracked.

CRACK. CRACK. CRACK. SNAP. CRUNCH.

The three of us stood there. Drunk and clueless of what was coming our way.

Lola, Mandy, Neil, Stephen, and Jace all came out of nowhere.

"Hey guys!" Delilah waved

"Hey, I guess we found them... Our car was towed." Lola laughed

"Isn't it your car?" I asked

"Oh... Yeah maybe, I don't know it was too hard to tell." She giggled

Mandy started hiccuping. She laughed every time she did. Stephen held her.

"I'll keep you safe ma lady." He said

Mandy giggled, "Thank you kind knight!"

We started walking in all different directions. Delilah with Jace, Stephen with Mandy, Lola with Neil, and Jackson and I. We found ourselves farther and farther from the house.

We heard a scream and we all ran to it. Delilah was on the ground holding her arm. Her pink dress was now covered in blood on the right side.

Jace held her and cried. Lola and Neil ran. As they ran to use Lola was bitten and she fell. We all started running in all directions this time by ourselves.

I took my heels off and started running bare footed. I got something stuck in my foot. I pulled it out. It started gushing instantly. I looked up and saw it. The thing that may have killed two of my best friends. I was face to face with a white wolf. It's eyes shimmered a dark uninviting red. It lunged at me and bit my neck. I wrapped my hands around it and felt my throat. I fell backwards and it all went black.

In the morning I woke up in my bed as if it was a terrible dream. But it felt so real. I got up and took the covers off. I was in my favorite pj pants... They where fuzzy and had wolves on them. I'm think of throwing them out after that dream.

I got into the bathroom and looked at the clock.

4:00 am

Damn... Might as well take a shower. I thought. I got some clothes from my dresser and ran into the bathroom. I set them on the counter and undressed. I hopped into the shower and turned the water on. I turned it on hot. I didn't seem to warm up very quickly. I got impatient and turned it all the way up. It became very hot very quickly. I hissed at how hot it was but somehow it didn't hurt like it normally did when I had it this high.

I finished washing up and opened the curtains. I pulled a towel from the rack and wrapped it around my body. I saw that my eyes where red just like the wolf I saw in my dreams. That couldn't be right... I must still be tried. I wiped the mirror with the second towel. It wasn't the fog on the mirror. My eyes still simmered that same uninviting red.

I decided to get dressed and not worry about it. I probably was a little paranoid after that dream. Just as I pulled my shirt over my head someone opened the door. Jackson.

"Sorry- I didn't know you where in here." Then he looked at my eyes an paused

"Are you wearing contacts?" He asked

"Um... Yeah." I say

He shut the door. I brushed my hair and walked out.

"All yours." I whispered to him

"Thanks- sorry about walking in on you." He said

"Wouldn't be anything you haven't seen." I said

I wasn't trying to be a slut by saying that comment I was merely saying that Jackson and I have known each other for a while now, we've seen each other naked. But that was not in a sexual way at all. It was because we were changing into our bathing suits and we where 9.

He laughed and walked into the bathroom. I looked at the time,

4:36 am

I must've taken a longer shower than I thought. I sat on my bed and studied for the remainder of my time.

Jackson took all of ten minutes in the bathroom and sat next to me on my bed. Jackson decided to go into some type of social work. He's always been a very outgoing person where as I kept my circle small.

Lola, Mandy, Jackson, Neil, Delilah, Casey, Myles, Julian, and Jacksons little brother Finnlee as know as Finn.

Finn is a junior now. It's scary how fast he's grown up!

I totally forgot about Casey until just now. I wondered if she even goes here. I texted her,

Hey Case, just curious what college you at?

I got an answer quickly,

University of Kentucky. Why?

I go here, haven't seen you around is all.

My dorm is right across from Julian and Myles. The stench of weed and alcohol floods the hall as soon as they open the door

So I have to wake up early to avoid it :(

Sorry about that... He's weird right now idk what's his problem.

You on the soccer team?

No, but the coach asked if I wanted to join.

You should the coach is amazing!

When's next practice?

Tomorrow

I'll try to be there.

Okay because it's really weird cuz I know NO ONE like at all. :(

I turned my phone off and continued studying. Jackson hovered over my shoulder.

"Whatcha doing?" I asked

"Reading." He said

"Okay." I said

"You still tired?" He asked

"Yeah." I said

"Some party huh?" He said

"What?" I asked confused about what he just said

"You know that party last night?" He asked

"What party?" I asked

"The one at the sorority house. We went in the woods and hung out." He said

"Hung out?" I asked

"You don't remember do you? Damn." He laughed

"What do you mean hung out in the woods?" I ask

"We went in the woods and I can't remember past that... Too drunk then." He said

"I'm surprised your not hungover." I said

"Me too." He smiled

"Hey we should probably wake them up." He suggested

"If we could go for coffee." I say

"Sound good, I'm driving." He said

"Can we ride my bike?" I ask

"Sure." He said

He grabbed the keys to my motorcycle and we walked out.
