CHAPTER FOURTEEN: DID SHE QUIT JUST TO AVOID ME?

"Boss a complaint from the cooks. The guests are requesting for a particular cook who had resigned three weeks ago. The chefs has tried their best to meet the customers needs but to no avail. The chefs suggest that you bring back the girl. I guess you should increase her salary in order to bring her back boss.

Unconcern of what his assistant is briefing him about Ayaan lazely raised his head to meet his assistant's gaze. "Who is that girl and what talent does she have for everyone to be craving for her hand made food. Just get one of the most expensive chef in town, I'm sure they'll forget about her.

"Ayaan do you think I just carry out every problem to you without trying to solve it first? Besides, the girl is not a chef. She helps to cook with the chefs. I've gotten the famous chef in town recently but the customers claim they still want the girl called Lydia. You better do something about it before another company gets hold of that girl". The assistant seemed to be angry at that moment.

Ayaan's face darkened. He focused all his attention on his secretary.

No one has ever talked to him like that except him. 'Now what, why is he now focused as if he'll ever be serious about this company, or did my speech touch him. But I have always talked to him several times regarding his disinterest on taking over the company' Ayaan's secretary wondered.

"Roberto, what was the name of the cook you just mentioned "

"Does it matter?" Roberto seems to be thinking hard. On the other hand, Ayaan knew he was just trying to annoy him. " Robert just tell me the name damn it. Ayaan demanded. "Oh, you mean the name, Lydia? Roberto finally gave out what Ayaan wanted to hear from him, curious to know why his friend, or should we say his boss was asking for the name of the cook.

Ayaan was left alone in his office wondering why Lydia would quit her her job so suddenly. No doubt he he couldn't see these past few weeks. 'Did she quit just to avoid me, I need to find her and apologise. I have been nothing to her but a jerk.'

He has already sent Roberto to find her and bring her back to her job. The first time she barged in to his room, he was thankful cause he thought that, fate has given him the chance to make things right between them. He promised that when he finds her again, he won't let that chance slip away from him.

His thoughts wondered back to when he was still a boy, and she was just a girl. A very beautiful girl at that with a lovely personality. He was to make her life miserable.But he slowly got attracted to her. But then it was too late to change be every thing. He had messed up everything before it could even start.
