Farewell

Avren was kind of not surprised. He had already connected the dots when the red-haired young man was speaking. But still, he needed sometime to digest these information.

The red-haired young man stayed silent and watched Avren, who closed his eyes.

After Avren came to life earlier, he felt that his body possessed great strength. Strength that surpasses any human. In addition, his perception and judgment have improved extremely. But after that 'rebirth' he went through, he actually felt that all his enhanced physical strength disappeared. His body's strength right now was very ordinary.

Despite that, Avren felt the fundamental change that happened to him. He felt that...his very level of existence has changed. Right, it was a change to the most core!

Right now, he was organising all the information that the red-haired young man just said. He imagined himself as that man, his supposed past 'incarnation'. If he were in his place would he be able to do it? Would he choose the same choices as that man? And more importantly, was it worth it?

An hour passed while Avren still setting, his eyes closed. In his mind, he put himself in many different scenarios to find out his choices. But no matter how many times he tried...he found that he couldn't make that choice, to abandon everyone and everything for the sake of his goal.

'Maybe I can't do it, but... I can understand your choice. And I respect it.' Right now, a sense of acceptance appeared in his heart.

BOOM!

As soon as Avren realised this feeling, the small core, residing in his Dantian, starting revolving again. The mysterious invisible energy appeared and infused with his hole body. But this time he wasn't harmed in the slightest. On the contrary, he felt his physical body, soul and mind becoming stronger at an incredibly fast rate.

His current body is just a projection of his real body. But it projects everything that's happening to the real body. That means his body in his room was experiencing the same thing.

Although the young man couldn't feel the mysterious unknown energy clearly, he could still feel the changes in Avren's body. He frowned lightly and narrowed his eyes.

'What's going on? This energy... even I can't see through. And his power is increasing quite fast.' He thought in his mind and continued watching Avren.

A moment later, Avren opened his eyes. At that moment, the entire palace shook. Even the young man could feel a sense of oppression! But it didn't affect him at all.

He felt it clearly though. That pressure wasn't a pressure of cultivation base or soul, it was a pressure due to the difference in the 'Level of existence'.

'How can a kid, who just started cultivating, produce that kind of pressure?' He thought.

After a moment, Avren retracted all the pressure. Everything was back to normal. He stood up and looked at young man and said in a respective tone: "I didn't get your name, sir."

The young man was very amused by Avren's change of attitude.

"Quite the polite one, aren't you? Unlike that jerk. Anyway, my name's Dema. I was your past incarnation's friend." Dema introduced himself while standing up as well.

"I see. Sir was the one who helped my past self when he sealed his memories, right? Thank you very much! I'll never forget that." Avren thanked sincerely while bowing slightly.

Dema smiled and said: "Don't be so grateful. The one I helped was the past Avren and you aren't him. You don't have to be bound by his matters anymore. Anyway...Now there's still one more thing to do before I finish my job here."

He raised his finger and a bright white light appeared and shot at Avren's forehead. A large amount of information appeared in his mind. So, he sat down and closed his eyes again to process that information.

"Now, your strength is increasing rapidly. From the looks of it, it won't be stopping soon. Maybe it'll even continue to increase infinitely. Sigh... Even I envy you! That energy inside you is really a cheat."

"But power alone isn't enough. You must have the necessary knowledge in order to use that power properly. I have imparted you with the basic knowledge you need to survive."

After a while, Avren finished assimilating all the information. He stood up and bowed deeply. "This junior will definitely remember senior's kindness."

Dema laughed loudly. His body started to emit white golden energy.

"I am sure you noticed that I am just a strand of consciousness. You now have perfect control over your consciousness after all. Hahahaha, now that I am done, I'll be leaving. I hope we meet one day. Oh right, I left you a small gift. I hope you like it."

"Remember, kid. Life is cruel. Don't be too kind-hearted. But don't lose yourself in hate and bloodlust either. Always give a second chance but never a third! And most importantly, follow what your heart tells you. Always."

As he said those words, his body vanished into small golden particles.

Avren stood there, staring at the place where Dema disappeared without moving. A moment later he bowed one last time and then disappeared, leaving his consciousness.
