Orc Village & Felix

Felix dropped the club and charged at Chipp, not letting the fool get up, he opened his jaw wide and snapped shut on his shoulder.

"UGHH!!"

[Warning! You have been infected by the zombie virus.]

Felix didn't bother taking a breath and opened his maw wide again.

[Ding! worst quality flesh devoured! Tracing the Origin of the worst quality flesh.]

[Congratulations! Origin Trace is successful! Talent 'Alertion' founded in the flesh. Incorporating!]

[Incorporation successful!]

Felix grinned and ripped off Chipp's leg before biting into him again.

[Congratulations! You have successfully died and turned into a zombie!]

[Congratulations! You have turned loyal to the Awakened!]

After doing away with Chipp and leaving him with only one arm with three fingers and half his head attached.

Felix started devouring the unconscious Ris, the one who fell the quickest and easiest. Sadly, he failed to trace the Origin from him.

[Congratulations! You have eliminated the three humans and completed your quest!

Seth and Felix ate them up and left them to rot with half their bodies– the halves left had already turned into a zombie.

The undead flesh couldn't be eaten after all. Heck! Even undeads couldn't eat undead flesh! One could imagine how poisonous it could be for a living being!

Felix glanced at Seth, he had also devoured what he could from Gutto.

He chuckled and directed his gaze to the petrified High Orc. This Orc had different features from ordinary Orcs. Especially its nose!

It had a much more humane look and a human-like small puffy nose instead of a pig's.

It had blonde hair atop its head, a small belly, and human-shaped hands and feet– capable of wielding weapons– Not like an ordinary Orc's paws.

Seeing the two zombies glance at him. The High Orc snapped out of his daze and let loose a terrified screech.

It crawled backward before zooming off with its max speed, rushing deeper into the forest.

Just as Felix and Seth planned to kill it. Another Quest appeared.

"Grr!" Felix tilted his head and walked forward, he touched the large blade and stored it in his inventory.

As for the decapitated undeads, he grinned and told them to wander in the forest until their deaths.

The three corpses groaned and crawled into the forest.

"Grr!" Felix grinned at Seth and the two activated their Stealth at once. Rushing toward the High Orc without even giving it an ounce of a hint.

"Grrr!" Felix could already smell it!

'Orcs! Here I come!!' Felix's lips stretched back, followed by a malicious and hungry glint in his eyes, "Gigigi!"

Felix's feet rapidly pushed against the ground. And yet... no sound emanated out.

As he chased the High Orc Cub, he suddenly looked down at his body. "Grr!"

[You don't receive EXP when you convert a creature into a zombie. It progresses your rank instead.]

"Grr!" Felix's brows deepened further, 'What good does... rank do? Need power! Lots of power! No need for... rank!'

[Rank is... best power!]

"Grrrr!" Felix's expression enlightened. He groaned, smooching the desire to turn the High Orc in front of him into a Zombie Orc with wide arms, 'Rank! Need rank! Lots of rank!!' Felix's eyes flared up.

[...Ahem! The wind sure changed ways fast.]

"Grr!" Felix smiled innocently. Not knowing what the System meant.

[Anyway, you must know not every creature will progress your rank. For now, only humans can do that. Infect humans and your rank will progress. You just need to infect seven more humans and the magic will happen!]

[I am sure the power will be to your liking!]

Felix could sense the confidence in the System's tone but not comprehend it. Currently, he just quelled the desire to infect the Orc cub and chased it silently.

As they slowly plunged into the forest and swooshed past bushes and trees alike, the High Orc gazed back.

His eyes pierced right through Felix and Seth– he didn't even feel something being off or odd. He saw the clean path and knew for surety that he had escaped the two undead.

His chest only bloated in confidence remembering the undead's famed speed.

"Gagaga!" He laughed merrily and stopped running on all four- shifting to a two-limb stance befitting a sentient being.

With an eased heart of finally saving his precious life, he giggled every few minutes while walking.

Slowly, the trees grew thick and dense. The gaps between the trunks started to squeeze the Orc cub.

God knew how the other Orcs came out of there with their bloated bodies.

As the cub reached the outer edges of the forest again, the trees began to loosen up a bit and provide more space.

Felix and Seth didn't notice but the space had even become wider with the bare minimum of trees in the surroundings.

Now, even from afar, Felix could see it... The Orc Village!

Seth's eyes flickered as he gazed forward. His head leaned to the side as he muttered, "Swa-mp?"

Indeed, the Orcs had made their village atop a swamp! They had cleverly used the swamp's mud to make three-walled, roofed buildings their houses.

Felix blinked his eyes, tilting his head, he gazed at all the Orcs lazing around in the mud and oinking from time to time.

Some Orcs looked young while the majority looked just like the three he had eliminated.

The building even grew 'grander' as the village stretched back. The size grew, along with the complexity.

Felix groaned, his eyes slowly lighting up, 'Orcs! So many... Orcs!!' His eyes lit up, "Grrr!"

[Congratulations! You have completed your quest: Track the High Orc Cub! You have discovered the Orc Village!]

[Congratulations! You have completed your quest, Find The Orc Village! You have received a new quest! Destroy the Pigs! How dare they not offer you EXP?]

"Grrr!" Felix nodded in agreement and rolled up his sleeves. Let's see who dares not give what he wished!

"Grr!?" Felix purred in confusion.

"Grrr!" Felix groaned, his brows narrowing. 'So... so complicated!'

[It's not complicated. Think, Seth is your power because he's an undead converted by you! If you turn Orcs into undead, they will also become your power!]

'Power! Orcs... undead? Power!?' Felix tilted his head.

[Yes! Infect Orcs and turn them into loyal undead. They will become your power!]

"Grrrr!" Felix's eyes brightened up. The rays of enlightenment had shone on him.

'Orcs! Undead! Now! Now!' Felix giggled and again began to march forward.

[NOO! NOT NOWW!]

[Ahem! Esteemed host! Take it slow and steady. What's the point if you march head-on?]

[Sneak up on Orcs and wait for them to leave the village before heading on and infecting them.]

"Grrr!" Felix furrowed his brows, 'What do... I do? Now?'

[For now, wait! Wait... and wait!]

[Like I had to.]

"Grrr!" Felix tilted his head and quietly stood behind a tree. Decades could pass without him having to move an inch if he wanted to!

Some waiting wasn't worth mentioning.

If Felix had been an ordinary undead that is...

"Grr!" He groaned and scratched his head, 'Waiting... so boring! Need fight! Need fight!'

[...Only time will teach you everything. The hard way!]

"Grr!?" Felix tilted his head.

Silently as time passed, a group of five Orcs finally walked out from deeper in the village and started beating up the other Orcs lazing around in the mud.

"You shit-heads! Where's today's food!? You haven't fucking brought anything to eat! Go! Go now!

"The King is mad! He's going to butcher us all! Go quick!"

"Huh!? B-But somebody did go to bring back some food!" One of the Orcs pleaded.

"THEN WHERE'S THE FOOD!!???" The Orc roared and slammed his paw into the other Orc's face.

"BRING FOOD THIS INSTANT!!" He roared at the top of his lungs.

Instantly causing some of the Orcs to scram out toward the forest.

Seeing the others fearfully eyeing them while rolling in the mud, the Orcs snapped and started thrashing some more Orcs around.

But of course, Felix didn't care. Nor bothered with what occurred afterward. He had already chased behind the group of five or so.

The Orcs still had mud dripping down their bodies, and their feet left deep prints in the forest as they charged onward.

Felix and Seth rapidly charged behind them, without even giving them a whiff of their existence.

As Felix charged and planned to take the initiative, his brain numbed. He paused and scratched his head, 'How do you... infect again?'

He gazed at the club in his head, his head tilted to the side.

[...]

[Ahem! Your body naturally carries the infection. Anything you scratch or bite gets plagued! To summarize, don't use weapons!]

"Grrr!" Felix's eyes widened in disbelief. He looked down at the club in dread, 'Weapon... Power!'

[Yes! Acquiring more power isn't easy. That's why it is called power in the first place!]

"...Grrr!" Felix blinked his eyes dumbly before, with a depressed face, he placed the club away in his inventory.

[Good! That's the way! Now, charge my host!]

"Grrr!" Felix let loose a dispirited war cry and charged over.
