Start

His eyes snapped open. With a dreadful realization he ran to the shower with the shrieking sounds of the alarm ringing in his ears.

James cursed as his feet tripped on his way out the door. His head slammed against the door and immediately began to bleed. The crimson drops beading up like precious gems before rolling down his face leaving scarlet trails.

James rushed about preparing for a day at the biggest trial in a teenagers life. School. Breakfast was skipped as James burst out the door like an unstoppable locomotive. He practically flew as his feet pushed him at blinding speeds towards his school.

Bang. The classroom door cracked into the wall like a bullet as James leaped to his seat just as the school bell let lose an ear-piercing trill.

"Let me guess Mr Diabolos" The teacher said sardonically.

"Your Mother didn't wake you up." The class burst out laughing as James slouched in his seat, his face burned with embarrassment as laughter echoed in his ears.

"Well now Mr Diabolos has finally arrived I believe we should begin the day.

The classroom seemed to blur around James as whispers grew in his head. Haunting voices filled with promises.

"Power"

"Strength"

"Knowledge"

"Control"

"Destruction"

"Creation"

...

The list went on and on as James fought to clear his mind from dreadful temptation. Until one caught his attention.

"Change from this monotonous life"

This one was different, instead of the singular words and raspy, devilish voices. This one seemed caring. Different from the dreadful temptations that filled his head since he was 10 years old.

"Quickly, choose" The voice continued.

"You do not belong in this world."

James started. This was different from before. The voice seemed like, family. A relative.

James body sung in reaction to this voice. Compelling him to accept. James looked up and around at the snobbish teacher and distant classes and he said.

"I accept."

James head snapped back and the world suddenly focused like a bell had been struck.

A glowing blue mist gathered around James as darkness enclosed him and he knew no more.
