13. A life without you(part 1).

I left the parlour,inorder to give aunt Layla and uncle Withward some alone time but apart from that I also left because I had something I needed to take care of,

Mits-kun.

She always gets angry when I don't feed her,there was even a time I saw her poop on my bed when I forgot to give her breakfast.

Pretty sure she may be peeing on my belongings right now.

I whistled through the mansion's passage while approaching the door to me and Subaru's room,

"Subaru? are you there?"

I entered inside to check if Subaru was inside

'maybe he's sleeping'

I thought,I came in but to my surprise he wasn't on the side of his bed,I looked around but I also couldn't find Mits

"what's happening?"

I said while scratching my hair Deep in thoughts

"it's c,c,c,c,cold"🥶

I said holding my body barely able to say the word cold.

I looked around to see where the source of this cold was coming from and I saw that the window was opened. it was already late at night and almost everyone was sleeping,if not sleeping they were either working and it being night means that there will be a reduction in the outside temperature, I quickly went to the window to close when I heard a sound coming from outside the window

"pfft"

I looked out the window to see Subaru with Mits in his lap sitting on the rooftop.

I may not be one to say this but who in their right mind would be outside on the roof late in the night?

I asked myself that question confused by Subaru's behavior

"come over here"

he said signaling me with his head to climb to the rooftop.

"Nope"

I quickly said and looked away and shut the window tightly,and jumped straight into my bed.

"click,click"

I tried to sleep but Subaru was throwing stones at the window,

' if I don't come he will definitely make me pay for it later, sigh'😔

I said getting up from the bed to open the window only to be visited by the pain if a stone hitting my head

I immediately looked up to see Subaru smiling,then he said

"that's for closing the window on me"

I reacted to his sentence by putting my hand on the window wanting to close the window but as soon as I was about to shut it he called out to me saying

"wait don't close it's important"

"okay,what is it?"

I asked with my hands still on the window's helm

"I can't tell you like this,come take a sit next to me"

he smiled with his teeth glistening

"and how am I suppose to get up there"

I said rolling my eyes

but as soon as I mentioned that I saw a very tall ladder drop from the roof standing erect

"like that"

he said still smiling.

The mansion was had a staircase from that leads from the lower room to the upper room,Aunt Rachel and my mom's room I on the lower floor, the servant's quarters are on a different side of it's own entirely,the only one who could stay with us were Uncle Withward, Aunt Layla and Lia, and they only come to their rooms once in a while that was during emergencies e.g my mom and aunt haven't returned home yet and it's late they would sleep with us. So in reality me and Subaru were the only ones living in the upper room, Subaru once told me that this house was originally for our grandfather who's just happened to be in a far away land, so our moms wanted us to stay together for some reasons so we came and stayed here,the firmer houses were sold. I don't know if all he told me was true but I didn't bother to puck nose into were isn't my business.Sometimes,I would imagine how a life without him would be like

"what are you thinking about, climb it already"

Subaru brought me out from my thoughts, but I was still persistent to climb

"are you sure this thing is safe"

I asked testing the firmness of the ladder from the window

"of course it is, I climb it all the time"

"wait this isn't your first time?"

I asked in surprise

"no, it isn't. Get on already or are you scared of heights"

he said trying to tease me

"nope, I am not scared just being cautious, but since you insist,I'll climb"

and like that I saw myself swallowing a big gulp of saliva traveling through my throat as I held the ladder ,as soon as I got on the realization of the height I was sunk into me

'what if I fall?'

I thought and slowly looked down to see the height I was and fear took hold of me,and I saw myself swiftly climbing up the ladder and soon enough I was on the rooftop

"hahaha,I knew you could do it"

Subaru said smiling at me

I smiled back at him at said

"don't think I am gonna let this slide"

"wow,I am so scared"

he said sarcastically

"just sit down already"

he said using his head to gesture me to sit next to him,

I went to his side and sat down,as soon as I did,Mits got up and curled herself up my leg,

"Mits really likes you"

Subaru said looking jealous

"don't feel sad,I am just good with animals"

I smiled and began petting mits,she seemed to relax a bit as soon as I started to pet her.

As I was petting her ,I looked up for the first time at the view from the rooftop and it was beautiful.

"amazing, isn't it?"

Subaru said also looking at the view

'i am still going to do my revenge but that can wait' I thought,

he continued,

"you know,I always come here when ever I am stressed out or something,it helps relieve the pain"

"yeah, yeah,yeah,I am over it now,why did you call me?"

as soon as I said that mits bit the hand I was using to pet her unexpectedly

"chuckles'🤭, you two are a funny duo"

Subaru said barely able to contain his laughter

"you think so?"

I said lifting up Mits in my hand and looking at her straight in the eyes after a while she stuck her tongue 😛 out to me and I did the same back to her

"okay, I called you here because...."

Subaru started to speak while turning to face the sky

"yeah? what is it?"

I asked putting mits back to my lap,she tried to resist but after a while she surrendered,

"I will be leaving the mansion"

as he said that my jaw dropped and I gave a big

"what???"
