14. A life without you(part 2)

Subaru's POV:

What???

Ascimos stood up and shouted ,so much so that he almost fell off the rooftop,but he was able to support mits firmly in his hands

"woah there"

I quickly used my hand to support him and put him back in place

"thanks for that"

he said still standing

"what do you me you're leaving?"

he whispered

"I know this may be sudden but it's true "

I said putting my hand behind my hair and looking away from him

"How? when? to where?"

"just calm down,I'll answer all your questions,but you have to sit down first"

I said still looking away from him

"oh okay"

he sat down quickly

|....well that was easy....|

I thought

"I will be leaving the mansion to go to an Academy in a week time"

I said but this time I looked at him in the eye

"phew😌, I seriously thought you were leaving for good"

he said while shower a sign of relief,then he continued

"so you're going to school?, what's so important about that,that you couldn't wait until tomorrow to tell me"

he said while going back to his usual cool mature minded expression

"I think you are getting things wrong? what's school? I am talking about an Academy"

I said looking at him confused.

I have heard of the word 'school' but I don't really know the meaning

" I mean the place were children go to ,to learn new stuffs and also the foundation of deciding what they want to be in life"

he said his definitely efficiently without startling as if he had been to such a place before

"oh I know what you mean,the place where our ancestors went to,a place of sorrow and depression,where their child hood was taken away from them, that school?"

I asked looking at him

"that's not how I'd describe it ,but yeah,sure,that sums it up "

he replied

"if that's what you have in mind of an Academy then you are definitely wrong,the Academy is way more fun than that thing"

I said while raising my chest and folding my hand like a 'know it all'

"what do you mean?"

he asked looking at me now expressionlessly while still petting mits on his lap

"I mean,the academy is a place where everybody would want to go but... I don't think I should tell you"

I said not finishing my sentence and slowly adverting my eyes from him,but I was surprised to hear a response from him but rather to see him descending from the ladder with Mits San in his arms

"come back here!!!"

I yelled at him

"what? I thought you didn't want to tell me?"

he said,

For a five year old he sure does behave mature for he's age

"I was just trying to make you more interested,so don't leave"

I said reaching out my hand to him

"ugh, fine..."

he said and took my hand and got back up

"thanks"

I said to him

"The academy is a 6-10 years programme,so alot of students start early so as to finish early and my mom wants me to do the same..."

I said wanting to finish my sentence

"so we won't be seeing each other again"

but Ascimos completed it for me

"yeah, that's right,but don't worry you still see me once in a while"

I said to relieve the impact of the revelation a bit.

Many people won't understand if I told them I would want to stay home,I don't really like it that much,but the main reason I would stay is because of Ascimos,both our moms never really have enough time for us, it's even a miracle they could make it for Ascimos party 🎉

the only reason we both are sane is thanks to us having each other backs and also a little bit of uncle Withward and the attendants company,so that's why when I heard I would be starting the academy early I was a little bit surprised but also disappointed 😞, but...

"it's okay, school is sch...sorry I mean an academy is still an academy and besides you said you would be coming once in a while to see me"

he then punched me in the arm and said

"better not break that promise"

he said pouting his face

"owe"

I pretended to wail in pain even though his punch wasn't really that strong

"so can we go to bed now?"

he asked staring at me

"yeah,sure,why not?"

I said and as soon as I said that he immediately left mits on the roof and descended down the ladder into our room and mits followed aftershoot,

|... those two really have gotten close...|

I thought looking at the ladder that was no empty with no one on it,then I stared into the sky and said

"sorry,grandpa,I may not be able to protect Ascimos fully from here on out,I know I made that promise to mom,but ever since you left , it's more like as if I made it to you,well not as if you can hear me so ...."

after saying that I descended down the ladder and passed through the window to our bedroom.

"good night, Ascimos"

I jumping into my bed and looking at the top bunk, but..

*😴 zzz zzz"

but not to my surprise,he was already sound asleep

"chuckles'', I then lied down and whispered to myself

"going to the academy is more like a life you"

I said and fell asleep

Ascimos POV:

I was on the top bunk of the bed while pretending to be snoring,I looked at the bottom bunk to find Subaru sound asleep then I got down carrying mits in my hand and placed her in her tiny little bed since she was already fast asleep also then I climbed back to my bed and before i lied down,I smiled and said

"good night, big bro"

and my birthday on that 'day' ended with a good night sleep
