I, Silva, was too late. It was gone... All of it was gone.

RUBY ATE ALL OF THE PEPPERONI PIZZA!

I am fine with cheese pizza, sure, but still, one of my favorite pizzas was pepperoni. I was not the only one disappointed; Yang was a little crossed with her little sister.

" Ruby, why is all of the pepperoni pizza gone already?"

Ruby spoke with her mouth full, and it came out as an incoherent mess. Yang reminded her sister of proper manners as bits of food from Ruby's mouth hit the table.

" Don't speak with your mouth full!"

Ruby covered her mouth with her hands and munched more quickly, then swallowed what she had in her mouth and replied.

" You were taking forever~ Yang and Uncle Qrow got the pizza from that place in Vale."

Yang sighed at her sister and took a napkin, and wiped the pizza from her mouth, and I went ahead and got myself a slice of cheese pizza. It's been way too long since I have had pizza; it's my favorite food from my past life. I liked to make a seafood pizza with swai fish, shrimp, scallops, with a few different kinds of cheese plus some chipotle chili powder on top to give it a spicy, smoky kick. Another thing to add to my to-do list, check out all the pizzas unique to Remnant.

Raven's less mature twin came back from upstairs and grabbed himself a slice of pizza. After wolfing down his slice, he took a sip from his drinking flask and asked.

" So, Snowball, what brings you and your sister to Patch?"

I shrugged and gave him a slightly vague untruthful answer.

" She said something about finding a place to settle down at, I think?"

" Oh? Patch Island is definitely as good of a place as any to settle down, but I noticed you hadn't mentioned your parents."

I guess the drunken bird brain is trying to find out more about my situation or something. But why is he so suspicious against a kid? Well, whatever, I can give him lies and half-truths for now because I don't think he will react well to my origins as part of the Branwen tribe right now.

" I never got to know my father or mother, and my big sister is not related to me by blood, but she took me in any way."

Qrow looked awkward at my admission and apologized as he scratched the back of his head.

" Ah, sorry, kid, I didn't mean to well, you know."

" It's fine; I never got to know them as I said, so I don't miss them; plus, while I do bicker with my big sister, she is family to me."

Well, Raven is a woman I would like to be with after she gets her head out of her butt about the bandit tribe being family, so I am not lying entirely on seeing her as family. Qrow ruffled my hair, and I responded by swatting his hand away as he said.

" Snowball, you have the right attitude. We may not get to choose who we're related to, but we do decide who we care about, at least to a degree."

I decided to misinterpret his words or rather change their meaning a bit to mess with him.

" Sorry, but I like girls, plus pedophiles are creepy."

This caused the reaper to sputter a reply.

" Wait, what?! I didn't mean it that way, you brat!"

I snickered at him, but Ruby asked a question that made me curse my stupidity at my choice of words.

" Silva, what's a pedo file?"

Yang, unfortunately, also wanted to know.

" Yeah, Silva, what's a pedophile?"

I felt my throat dry up at the question, and Qrow glared at me, blaming me for causing this situation and warning me not to say a word. So I passed the hot potato of a question.

" Um, ask your uncle he would know more about it, probably."

The girls turned towards their uncle with a burning, asking gaze. Qrow fiddled with his collar and broke out in a cold sweat while sending an occasional glare my way as he tried to get out of his situation.

" Well, ah, you see, the thing is, you know what, I will tell you when you're older!"

" Ah, come on, Uncle Qrow, tell us!"

Yang demanded of her uncle while Ruby pleaded with her big silver eyes.

" Please tell us, awesome Uncle Qrow."

I smiled at Qrow's discomfort while he switched between glaring at me to trying to appease his nieces. And he told them with a tone of finality.

" Sorry, you two, but no, you have to wait until your older to understand."

The girls switched targets and asked me.

" Silva, you called Uncle Qrow a pedo file, so you must know what it means, right?"

" Yeah, Silva, yell us!"

I lied through my teeth and told them.

" It's a word my big sister uses sometimes, and she never told me what it means."

Ruby and Yang looked disappointed at my answer but quickly went back to enjoying the pizza. Qrow relaxed since his nieces dropped the question, but he still looked a little pissed at me. The bird brain then started asking questions again.

" So, Snowball, what's your sister's name?"

I deflected his question.

" Sorry, but my sister is not interested in guys that smell like alcohol."

He narrowed his eyes at me, and I decided that it was time for me to leave and ASAP. I gave my goodbyes.

" Ruby, Yang, it was nice meeting you, but I better leave before my sister decides to hunt me down."

Ruby hugged my arm and rubbed her face against my fur as she asked me with her sparkling silver eyes.

" Do you have to go?"

I smiled at the little future reaper and nodded. Yang then asked with a hopeful look.

" Can we meet again?"

I smiled bitterly and told her truthfully.

" Probably not because I am leaving today, and I may not come back."

Yang looked downcast but didn't say anything, and Ruby just continued to hug my arm. Just a couple of hours and they already formed an attachment to me; this is probably due to Summer, their mom's disappearance in their lives, but if I try to stay, I would only lie to them, even more, I don't want that because any relationship built on lies falls apart when the truth comes out. As I detached Ruby from me, Qrow offered.

" How about I escort you to your sister?"

I deflected his offer by using the protective brother card.

" Stay away from my sister, old man!"

" Old?! Now listen, Snowball, I am not old, and the ladies agree with me."

I rolled my eyes and said.

" Yeah, yeah, keep on telling yourself that, and maybe you will believe it someday."

I told Ruby and Yang goodbye once more and ran out the door as quickly as I could down the road. As I ran, I changed direction and went into the woods, then waited for Raven to show up. It did not take long for her to show up, and she asked me coldly.

" Had fun?"

I told her while still feeling a bit guilty about lying to Ruby and Yang because I really did want to know them as people, not characters from a show.

" No..."

Raven scrutinized me then ordered.

" We're leaving."

But before she could open a portal, I heard a familiar voice say.

" I had my suspicions but seeing you here, Raven confirms it."

I turned to see Qrow leaning against a tree, and he continued talking.

" When I saw my old hand-me-down shirt on Snowball here, it got me wondering why a whelp from the tribe would be here, but I dismissed it as unlikely because you would not have brought a kid with you when you came to check up on Tai and Yang."

Raven scoffed at her brother.

" Of all the things to remember, brother, it's your old shirt."

Qrow took a sip from his flask and asked Raven.

" So why is Snowball here?"

Raven took a neutral stance and tone as she answered.

" He followed me through my portal without my permission."

Qrow looked surprised at his sister's answer and asked incredulously.

" Did you open a portal in front of the nursery or something?! I mean, you're a lot of things, Raven but letting a kid follow you?! Your slipping..."

Raven rolled her eyes and crossed her arms as she told him.

" He was supposed to be cleaning my tent, but Silva here..."

Raven glared at me, and I just shrugged it off, knowing she was going to punish me regardless. Qrow looked between Raven and me, then said, looking shocked.

" Raven, you didn't! You left Yang right after she was born, and now you replaced her with him!"

Qrow looked angry as he continued to rant.

" I knew you were low, sister but this, this is an all-new low for you. If Tai or Yang hear this, it will destroy them..."

Raven sighed at her brother's conclusion and corrected him.

" For starters, Silva is not my replacement son but my servant. I even have the maid uniform to prove it."

Raven smirked at the mention of the maid uniform, and I cursed at her.

" I told you I am not wearing it; you tea-addled shouta-con!"

Raven responded by bonking me on the head, and Qrow looked at the interaction with his jaws hanging. I rubbed the spot where Raven hit me and glared at her, which she ignored. Qrow shook himself out of his stupor, then started laughing, and I dryly remarked.

" Chief, your brother is broken."

Raven replied with a morbid bit of humor.

" He has been broken for a long time~."

Qrow stopped laughing and then said something completely out of the blue.

" I guess I got a new little brother."

Raven and I looked at him like he lost a few screws, and I asked.

" Chief, do you think hitting him will make him work properly?"

" Ordinarily, I would say no, but I am considering."

Qrow then explained himself.

" Silva, you considered Raven your big sister, right? So that makes me your big brother."

I opened my mouth but realized I had nothing to retort with because I sure as heck don't consider Raven to be my mother; an elder sister would not be too far off. She bonded with me enough to open a portal with her Semblance, Kindred Link, to me, and we do fight each both in a literal sense and figurative one. I looked at her to see her reaction to Qrow calling me their little brother, and she was contemplating. After a moment or two, Raven then said.

" Well, he is far more likable than you, Qrow."

Now Qrow and I are stunned by the fact she did not deny calling me her little brother. Qrow then said while still looking incredulously at his sister.

" I was only joking, Raven."

Raven shrugged and picked me up by the scruff of my shirt like a cat, then opened a portal and gave her goodbye.

" See you, little brother, I need to discipline our littler brother to make sure he does not try following me through my portals without my permission again."

Okay, not how I expected my day to go, but I now have a hot older (step?) sister, so I consider it a win.
