chapter 13: highschool reunion two

So it was almost the seventh. But I have been trying to find a bookstore. And I did. So I went out and it was a little far but I got there after a while. And I found a mystery section and one book caught my attention. I pulled it out and read the side, ' the journal of mr.jekyll and dr.hyde.' I got that book and another one. And this one was really different. But this was the title, ' fallen'. It looked interesting. But I paid and went back to the room.

When I walked in I saw sky, he had a bag in his hand, and his eyes were black. I was a little afraid, well terrified to be honest. But I slowly said, " sky? Skylar. You okay?" He quickly looked over to me and growled. The bag dropped, dried out and his face was pale, vicious and bloody. I tried to calm him down, " sky you need to control it. I know you are better than this. Please?!" I was pleading to him. He started to walk over and I shut the door.

He started to come closer to me. And close enough I could feel his breath. I felt my heart rate beat faster and faster. I thought it was going to jump out of my skin. But I looked into the pitch eyes. And I tried to calm him once again. " skylar mason kyle, you need to control it. This is not you. It is the hunger and fear. You need to fight it. Please, for me at least?" He paused for a moment then just turned my head to the side and went to sink his fangs in my throat. He did and I gasped out, I felt pain, and numbness.

I felt more and more weak, soon enough I started to fall to the ground, and skylar pulled back and after a moment his eyes turned back to normal. And he mumbled something I couldn't hear. All I heard was this inaudible speaking.

Skylar's pov

So I didn't know what took over in me but I heard a door open and I heard Haley's voice, but my hunger took over me and well I felt like I blacked out for a moment. But when I got to a clear view I saw Haley sliding to the ground and here's me thinking, s**t. So I tried to pull her up and call her name, " Haley. Please. Stay awake. Come on." I then had an idea, it would pass through her veins. But I felt to see if she still as a pulse and she did but it was very faint. I bit my wrist and shoved it towards her. She took it and I saw her neck was healing. I felt like a major idiot.

I should of told her. But she felt faint and looked tired. So I picked her up bridal style and put her on the bed. Once her head hit the pillow she was out like a light. I was relieved but she curled up to the blanket. And she looked is cuddly.

Saturday

Haleys pov

So I woke up with a small headache. But sky explained to me and apologized and I was okay with it but he was off limits for me being a blood slave almost. But I did the same routine when I had to get ready for wednesday. But I got my offutt on. And did my hair in waves. And my makeup was a little lighter but I grabbed my shoes, purse. And we walked to the car and we left a little earlier. Because it was almost two hours away.

But after a while we got there and I drove this time. But I saw a sign saying, " welcome back class 2020 cavs. I thought that was sweet but this was in the gym again. And they had a stage in the north section of the gym. I still saw nothing changed. But I walked in with sky and the music playlist was all pop music. So I had an idea. Something that was a little long ago but it was a very good song. So I went over to the dj and asked if he could play this track. And he smiled to it and said, ' sure.' So after a moment he did and me and sky started to dance. But he dragged me out on the dance floor.

I smiled and after a while I felt someone tap me on the shoulder. I turn to see a old friend of mine I think her name was Alexa. But I acted like I remembered her. Just to be nice. " oh hey Haley. How's everything?" I then realized this wasn't a old friend. It was an old enemy. The old popular girl. I have steered clear of her and her little groupies since freshman year. The first day all I said was high and she gave me a dirty look. So this was her name, nova.

And well she was the schools queen ruler. But I was always in the shadows. So I faked a half smile, " I am sorry do I know you?" She looked at me like, don't you remember? " Haley it is me, we were friends in high school. Oh sorry I am nova?" She said to sky. And she stole everyone's boyfriend and friends. So I stepped a little closer. But I played along. " so what is happening ever since high school?"

She asked and I smiled, " why don't you go first I am sure your life is more interesting than mine?" She giggled and said, " I am a supervisor for a computer network in Chicago. So what about you?" I was shocked, but said, " I sing for shattered mind." She looked at me with a fake yet shocked smile. " oh wow. Why don't you go up there then and show us a little stuff. I am sure everyone would want to hear you."

I nodded no, " no I don't think I should I just want to spend time with my boyfriend skylar." She gave me a death glare. And I gave one back. But she then said, " I will be right back I see Nate over there. I am going to go say hello." She walked away and I walked over to a chair and sat. Skylar sat on the other side. Then after a while she came back with Nate.

" hello again. I want you to meet Nate. You remember him from highschool right?" I nodded my head yes. So he was the captain of the football team and nova was the head soccer player. But she looked over to sky, " oh I love this song. Skylar may I have this dance?" He looked to me and said, " Haley will you dance with me?" I smiled and said, " I would love to." She I got up I gave her a wink and I heard her growl a little. But me and sky were dancing and I had fun but until hell struck.

" o,at class of 2020. This is a little last minute but we had people vote and we will announce the winners in a little, but for now I have two announcements, one any one who has a green Camero, your lights are on." I saw a guy run out and I laughed a little then the dj continued, " and the second one is, we are going to have a little karaoke contest. So anyone who wants to join please come up and signing up."

I wasn't going to do it. But I saw skylar smiling and I was curious, but I gave him a side hug. And the guy called up a few people, and a few after them and so on until this was said, " okay our next singer is, Haley knight and nova pierce." Oh heck no. So I slumped up there and he whispered, " okay what song do you want to do?" I smiled and whispered, " apocalyptic by hale storm." He smiled and played it. I grabbed a mic and so did nova.

But she tried to sing with me, and that didn't work. She sounded okay. But I won't say anything. " baby love me apocalyptic." I sang and she started to mock me but she quit singing. And a little while after the song ended. And people were clapping. But I felt happy and I saw my boyfriend smiling with a cute dumb grin.

I walked down and walked over. He gave me a kiss. But we talked to a few people, and then they were going to announce both winners. " alright everyone, so our winners for the karaoke contest is, nova pierce." She went up there and I was happy for her. But one thing that set me off was this, " okay and now for the winners of the voting are, nova pierce and skylar Kyle." I knew she was going to rig it. But he went up and he wasn't standing close. But nova gave him googly eyes. They walked down and had a spotlight dance. I could tell sky was uncomfortable . But I don't think this would last long.

Skylar's pov

So this was very uncomfortable for me. She kept trying to get close to me giving me flirty eyes and every time I tried to look over to my girlfriend she say, " no eyes on me only." Okay this chick needs her head checked. But the song was over thank goodness. But I broke away and went over to Haley. She gave me a hug. So I know that we have been hanging out and have been dating for awhile but maybe next year I want to ask her a big question. And I think you would understand. But we stayed for a little while but then we went back to the room. And well she looked tired but I was to. So I am not gonna say anything else.
