The Hemon hall students were gathered in the common room during reading time. Amelia was reading an interesting book about the myth "the fountain of life"
It was a fountain in a well hidden forest. Legends say whoever drinks from the fountain will have eternal life and will be the most powerful witch or wizard. The hard part was to get to the chamber. It had mystical creatures guarding it and different methods to be killed in the process.
Only the chosen one could complete the task. The fountain was founded by Jacquan Daniels
The source of how he found this water is not known. However, it's just a myth.
"Hey"
Amelia looked up from her book. A girl in her class was sitting next to her.
"Hello" Amelia replied
"You're into legends as well?"
"Not really. The book looked interesting to me so I picked it up from the shelf"
"Oh"
"Forgive my manners. I'm Amelia Walker"
"I'm Helen Cole"
"It's nice to meet you, Helen"
"Likewise"
The pair smiled at each other for a few seconds before going back to what they we're previously doing.
The once quiet room turned into a fit of giggles as a guy walked in. The girls kept swooning and giggling in his direction until a female prefect ordered for silence.
"Bless his parents" Helen sighed, staring dreamily at the boy
"Who's that?" Amelia asked curiously
"That's Dion Martins. The social prefect and most handsome boy in school. He's a fourth year"
A boy on the left side of Amelia scoffed in disgust.
"Girls" he rolled his eyes. He was one of their classmates too.
"Shut up Edward" Helen snapped
Edward was a blonde that wore square shaped glasses.
"Is he a friend of yours?" Amelia asked Helen, referring to Edward
"Who? Edward? Pfft. More like an acquaintance"
"I heard that" Edward said "I'm Edward Iris. You're Amelia, am I right?"
"Yes"
Amelia looked in the direction where Dion was. He was laughing with his friends, showcasing his perfectly sculpted white teeth. No doubt, he was probably the most handsome boy she had laid eyes on.
The moment she and Dion made eye contact, she quickly looked back at her book, her cheeks redder than before
Dion's eyes lingered on Amelia for a long time. This made her very uncomfortable.
"Oh my god" Helen gasped "Dion's looking right at you, Amelia"
"Nonsense" she muttered
"Look up. I'm serious"
"I don't care"
"Finally, a sensible female" Edward said
Helen threw her pen at him aiming for his head but he ducked immediately and he wasn't even looking. Amelia was shocked by how fast he could do that.
"What's your element?" Amelia asked him
"Earth. I have quick reflexes which makes me good at sword fighting and archery. I'm also a wizard. I can shoot fire from my weapons"
Amelia remembered Jacqueline when he said this. They almost had the same talent.
"What about you Helen?" She asked
"I'm full witch. I'm all about intelligence and knowledge. I don't think I have an element"
Edward chuckled
"Intelligence she claims yet she doesn't know her element"
Helen knew she couldn't succeed in hitting him with anything so she did what she was best at doing; casting spells.
"Echnates" she said, pointing her wand towards his glasses
His glasses floated in the air. He got up and chased it but couldn't catch it.
"Hey" he cried out "make it stop"
"Why should I? Why don't you use your archery skills? Hmm" Helen teased
Amelia was doing her best not to laugh
After Helen had enough laughs at Edward's desperate attempts to get his glasses, she finally reversed the spell.
He caught it and sat down in anger
"Everything alright, Eddy?" Helen teased
"Leave me alone"
They laughed at him
"What's your element, Walker?" Helen asked
"I don't know either. My mom was a witch and my dad was a mortal"
"Was? Are they no more?"
Amelia was quite surprised that she didn't know her story. Everyone else seemed to.
"Yeah. They're dead"
"I'm so sorry to hear that"
"Thanks"
"Sorry" Edward said sympathetically
"Thanks"
Amelia didn't know these two at all but she had a feeing they would be good friends
