Tarquin acted quickly, leading Henri away before he could get swarmed by the crowd of students wanting to have a word with him. He had to return to the racecourse though because there was another race to be had.

Surprisingly, a good number of the students that had simply shown up for the race between Seton and Henri, stayed behind to watch the opening competitions. Perhaps they hoped to find another prodigy amongst the year one applicants.

Henri was exempted from the opening competitions because he had already proved himself worthy of the club.

Tarquin didn't actually approve of the opening competitions determining those who would be accepted into the club but it was a rule enforced by Seton.

He straightened out the sleeves of his dark green dress shirt, as he waited for the new applicants to line up at the starting position.
