Mafia (Psylocke II) Part 9

While I'm driving, Riri asks me anxiously:

"Alex, this woman came for me, right?"

"Why are we taking her with us, isn't she dangerous?"

"Don't worry, this woman isn't that bad, I think she was being influenced" I told her to calm her down.

The two curious girls ask me what I mean.

"The name this woman said, your supposed father, I know a little about him"

"His name is Zebediah Killgrave, he has the ability to control people's minds at his will using his pheromones"

I look at Psylocke and continue:

"This woman must have been influenced by that man's ability"

The girls upon hearing my words are surprised.

Riri was the most affected because with a downcast look she says:

"I'm causing you too much trouble, I think it would be better if I left"

Before I can say anything, Laura takes Riri's hand and says:

"Don't worry, these problems are nothing to Alex and me, we will protect you"

Little Riri starts to cry when hearing Laura's words.

I only show a smile at their interaction.

When I was deciding where to go, I get a call. Seeing the caller ID, I know Jessica is calling me.

This confuses me since it hadn't been more than an hour since we met.

Still in doubt, I answer the call.

"What's wrong Jessica, do you need anything?"

"Come to my office Alex, the bastards looking for the girl paid me a visit. It seems that they discovered that the girl stayed at my house last night" she said in a nonchalant way.

"Are you alright?" I asked worried.

"Don't worry, they refused to talk so I dealt with them" she replied.

Ending the call, I head towards her office but I notice something that makes me smile and then I say:

"Miss, since you're awake, I need you to answer some questions. You must feel better now, right?"

The one I said that to is the already recovered Psylocke, who only looks at me in silence for a few seconds and nodding her head says:

"Don't worry, the man who hired me wanted to mind control me and you freed me from his influence so I'll tell you everything as thanks"

I just smile and say:

"Miss, I have an offer for you, would you like to hear it?"
