Like Dust

Lili didn't know what the destruction of her room meant. Was she free now? She wanted to know, but now she didn't have time.

Alexander had already fainted and it wasn't looking good.

She picked Alexander's head again and made him drink more blood. When he still didn't turn into a vampire, she started crying.

"Please, please don't die like this... I-I still..."

She was talking between the tears and there wasn't anything else for her to do.

That was when she saw a bracelet rolling towards them, it was Alexander's bracelet.

"What..."

After getting close enough to Alexander's body, the bracelet deformed itself and entered his body.

Then, an arm made of glass started forming to replace the arm Shira ripped off.

After finishing the arm, the curse spread inside his body. The other curse didn't like how it was expanding and started spreading as well.

The tattoos spread all over his body while glass entered inside his broken bones and missing parts of his smashed organs.

The curses started fighting for space on his body, and soon his body was reconstructed enough to absorb Lili's blood.

Alexander's vitality raised and his flesh started regenerating but it wasn't enough. The curses inside him started fighting even more vigorously.

Then, the curse from the glass sword forcibly activated sacrifice to fight Monapart's curse. Alexander wasn't awake or in any condition to stop it.

His regeneration soared together with the curse's power. His flesh covered the arm made out of glass and reattached his legs.

Lili was relieved to see Alexander recovering, his heartbeat getting faster and faster.

He was recovering at a fast pace, but the curses didn't stop fighting. The tattoos left his body covering the ground and the glass started forming layers around him.

Lili distanced herself from him and soon he was covered by layers and layers of glass. The tattoos entered the glass and it became completely black.

The tattoos on the ground shivered and went back inside the glass to Alexander's body.

When Lili started to get worried, the black glass stopped expanding and cracked. Instantly, all the glass broke into pieces.

Lili quickly removed the broken glass from Alexander's body and realized he changed. He was way smaller than before, his hair turned black and the tattoos disappeared together with the scars.

Alexander now looked like a normal eight years old child.

'Did he become a vampire now?' Lili waited for a few minutes but he still didn't move. Lili was getting nervous, Shira could appear at any time and she didn't know what she would do to him.

Lili grabbed Alexander's hand and teleported somewhere inside the forest. Then she teleported again, again and again until she left the kingdom for the first time in her life.

When she stopped teleporting, they were close to the ocean and she could see the water a few steps away.

She was too tired to teleport again. After resting a little, she dragged Alexander under a tree and sat beside him. She waited anxiously for him to wake up.

The day turned into night and night turned into day. Some days passed but Lili felt like months as she watched Alexander wishing he was still alive.

After a long time, he finally opened his eyes. They became black just like his hair.

"Finally!" Lili jumped on top of him the moment his eyes moved and started crying again.

Alexander was confused about what happened but he let her calm down first. He tried to get up but he couldn't. His body felt strange now so he looked at his status.

Alexander saw his new status and couldn't help but sigh. He was weaker than when he escaped the lab. All his efforts were gone just like that, his strength disappeared like dust.

His feelings became conflicted. He wanted to get sad or angry, but his mind didn't let him. What's the point of getting sad? What's the point of getting angry? It won't change anything no matter how feels about it, so he might as well not feel anything.

"Are you okay?"

Lili stopped crying and became curious about him.

"I'm fine, but I can't get up with you on top of me"

But she didn't get up.

"Can you please get up?" He tried to get her out of him but couldn't, he was too weak to move her.

"Hehe~" She realized he couldn't move her and decided to annoy him by staying still.

After she was done having fun, she let him go.

When he stood up, Alexander realized how small he became. Everything around him felt way bigger and he was the same height as Lili.

Lili liked his change in height but she didn't like his new hair color because the last one looked like hers.

"Where are we?"

"I don't know, but don't worry, it's outside the kingdom so we can stay here"

"I see... Thank you for saving me"

Lili turned her head up and smiled at him with a proud face. She wanted to thank him for freeing her as well, but she was too nervous, and in the end, the words couldn't leave her mouth.

"Don't you need to go back to your family?"

"I-I don't care about that. D-Don't think about it"

Alexander didn't believe her but he couldn't do much if she didn't want to go.

They spent a lot of time in the woods gathering stuff to live in the forest.

Alexander was used to living inside caves so he thought they should do the same, but Lili didn't want to live in a cave.

Alexander was weak now, so he asked Lili to cut some trees down. Using the logs, he made a temporary shelter.
