SACRIFICE.

"Where are the dead girls?" Raven asked as they got to the clearing where they were murdered.

"I do not understand, I saw them here" Lorelai whispered as she searched around frantically.

"They were here" Adelina said as the handful of blood soaked sand in her hand fell back to the ground.

"I guess they were carried away" Danielle said.

"That does not cut it, I still need to know if Diane's okay" Adelina answered.

"Please help, someone help" A girl sobbed quietly.

"Did you hear that?" Violetta asked, looking towards the source of the sound.

"Sshh" Ruby hushed her as they all listened carefully.

Now the heavy breaths and sobs could be heard.

Loud and clear.

Ruby crouched, inching slowly to where it was coming from.

She pushed away the weeds.

The girl looked up at her with bloodshot eyes and tear stained cheeks.

"Please help, Ruby" She sobbed.

"Sofia?" Ruby said as she recognized her.

Ruby looked down at what she was doing and her eyes widened as she rushed over to her side.

Her hands were bloodied and pale.

But it was not her blood.

"Diane" Adelina yelled as she ran over to her friend's side.

The other girls huddled around them.

Diane forcefully opened her eyes, she was dying slowly, she could feel herself going.

Oh, how she was so happy to see Adelina before her demise.

She reached out, holding Adelina's hand in hers, giving it a gentle squeeze and soft smile.

"Get your hands off the impact area, let me see how bad the wound is" Lorelai said,

"No" Sofia refused.

"I'm a trained surgeon Sofia, please" Lorelai begged.

Hesitantly, Sofia removed her hands.

Lorelai rushed over to examine the wound, she scrunched up her face.

"We need to get the first aid box, it's in the cave" Adelina said hurriedly.

"I'll go get it" Danielle and Violetta said as they got up,

"Don't bother, she will not make it, the bullet hit a major artery" Lorelai said, stoping them from leaving.

"But with the first aid..." Adelina said.

"No she won't make it, That piece of junk is not a standard first aid box, it lacks the required items" Lorelai said as tears flowed down her cheeks.

She hated when she couldn't save people.

And this was one of the hopeless situations.

"So it was intentional" Raven realized.

"Mr Fernando intentionally put unnecessary things into the first aid box to ensure those who were shot were killed" She added.

"That sneaky lying vermin" Violetta whispered in anger.

"There has to be something we can do" Adelina whispered as she broke into quiet tears.

"There is nothing more to do, Adelina" Lorelai sobbed.

Sofia hugged Lorelai comfortingly, patting her head, staining the blonde locks red,

"I know I am going to die" Diane finally said in a hoarse voice.

"Diane, it is all my fault, you should have stayed with us" Adelina whispered.

"It's not your fault that I left to join another group, I will take responsibility for my own actions, I am not a child, Ade" Diane said as she coughed up blood.

"Diane" Adelina whispered.

"I will always watch over you Adelina, hug me" Diane whispered.

Adelina hugged her, careful not to put any pressure on her already dying body.

"I have always loved you and I always will" Diane whispered.

"Me too" Adelina sobbed.

"I'm dying" Diane chuckled as she weakly raised her hand that had once clutched her wound to see the blood.

"It's not funny" Adelina sobbed.

"You know I find everything funny Adelina, I can't help it" Diane laughed before going into a fit of coughing.

"Diamonté" Adelina said in a whisper.

Diane smiled as she heard Adelina call out her real name.

"Avenge me, Adelina" Diane said with a gasp.

"I will" Adelina whispered, crying harder than she had ever cried before,

"Be strong, Vasílissa" Diane sighed,

Her soul departed from them that day and it was the last time Adelina heard that pet name from her lips ever again.

"I will" Adelina muttered, pulling away,

Diane's eyes were still open and she had that soft smile on her face that she'd always had since she was a child.

All the life had been drained out from her once energetic sapphire eyes.

"Sleep on, sister" Adelina whispered as she closed her eyes before kissing her cheek.

"Where's your sister, Sofia?" Adelina asked.

"T-T-They killed Shiloh" Sofia cried.

Now it was Lorelai's turn to comfort her.

"Diane tried to save her, so they killed Diane too, it's all my fault, I was the weak one, I should have been able to save them, I..." Sofia rambled on.

"Ssshh, you're coming with us now" Raven said as they got up to leave.

Violetta placed a wildflower on Diane's chest before she burst out crying,

Danielle rubbed Violetta's shoulders to comfort her as she led her away from Diane's peaceful body towards the group of girls heading for the cave,

By the time they got to the cave they were eleven in number and they had about five minutes to re-strategize.

"What do we do?"

"We eliminate them too" Adelina answered in the silence of the dark cave.

"Is that really a good idea?" Florida asked.

"Actually, we weren't given all the tips to this game, we're allowed to kill them to earn points, it gives us an edge over people who  only survived the game, throwing us into the ranking of the elites" Katrinah answered.

"And how do you know that?" Raven asked,

"We may have mistakenly eavesdropped on Mr Fernando's conversation with his son" Katrinah shrugged.

"Katrinah's telling the truth, I was there" Annette said.

"When you do say Mr Fernando's son, do you... by any chance mean, André?" Adelina asked,

"He's Mr Fernando's only son, so it's obviously him" Lorelai answered.

"Yes it is him, André" Annette answered.

"Wow, and I took you to be the dumb blonde of the group, Lorelai" Raven stated sarcastically.

"That's an awful stereotype Raven, it hurts my little dumb blonde heart" Lorelai said in faux sorrow.

"Don't blame me, you behave dumb ninety eight percent of the time" Raven said,

"Heyyy, I can be smart when it's necessary" Lorelai whined.

"So are we sure we're going with Adelina's initial plan?" May asked.

The siren let out it's sound,

"Yes" they all agreed,

Danielle put out her hand, and everyone placed their hand,

They looked to Adelina,

"We go forth today with weapons in our hands and determination in our hearts, we swear to show them no mercy or compassion, we will defend and protect each other and wreak havoc  on our enemies."

"Yes" they all agreed,

The siren for the beginning of the second part was heard,

"It is time" Adelina whispered as she opened her eyes,

They glowed golden in the dark with a gleam of something else.

Fury and hatred ignited in her eyes.
