DECEIT

"Hey, look what I found" Ruby yelled out to her friends,

The class A girls had split up, most of them working alone and a few working in groups,

The six of them stayed together just as Mr Fernando had advised while Diane joined another group,

Jacquelynne wasn't with them because she had discussed with Mr Fernando that she simply couldn't survive field tests so he exempted her from this exercise,

So Jacquelynne was probably hacking into Mr Fernando's rivals' systems right now instead of surviving in the wild,

"It's a cave?" Violetta asked in a whisper,

"Yeah" Ruby answered, proud of herself,

"What's so special about a cave" Danielle huffed,

"Well Danielle, a cave could serve as a hideout, but I wouldn't expect you to know" Raven said sarcastically as she rolled her eyes,

"You're a mean ass" Danielle whined,

"Plus, it's an underground cave, easy to miss if we cover it up with plant life" Ruby said as she pushed some plants away,

"What If an animal lives there, just waiting for six stupid girls to jump in and become it's dinner" Adelina said,

"I prefer to die that way than to be caught by the likes of Mr Fernando's men though" Raven shrugged,

"Same" Danielle agreed,

"Besides all that, I've gone in to check, it's safe" Ruby assured them,

"Oouu, plus the trees are also versatile, safe to climb and swing on" Lorelai said before jumping unto the ground.

"So what's our strategy?" Raven asked,

They all looked at each other for a long time, not finding an answer,

"Try not to get caught, I guess" Adelina shrugged,

Everyone also shrugged, before dispersing to get ready for the game to begin,

"What are you doing?" Adelina asked Ruby who was kneeling down.

"Setting a trap" Ruby answered.

"What if it gets us instead?" Adelina whispered,

"Don't worry, we're too smart to get into our own traps" she answered.

"Uhmm, we have the likes of Danielle and Lorelai in our group?" Adelina reminded her.

"It'll be fine, no need to worry" Ruby said as she got up.

"They're coming, Run for your lives" A panicky voice yelled.

They all scrambled to various places to hide.

Lorelai, Danielle and Raven took to the trees.

Ruby and Adelina dove into the nearest bushes.

While Violetta stood still in shock,

"Violetta" Adelina whispered harshly.

Suddenly Raven swung past and grabbed her, taking her into the trees,

"Now we have to wait" Ruby whispered,

Suddenly, gunshots were fired, everywhere,

"Or not" Adelina whispered as they ducked under a spray of bullets that came their way.

"Don't worry, they should be fake bullets" Ruby whispered as they crawled away into the vegetation to find better cover,

"Fake bullets hurt too" Adelina whined in a whisper.

Suddenly, there was silence

"What's going on?" Adelina asked.

Ruby took a deep breath before raising her head up to look,

"They're leaving" She whispered.

"How?" Adelina asked,

"They're sticking together, just like we are" Ruby explained.

Once the agents were far away, the girls came out of their hiding places,

"I wasn't expecting so much bullets" Danielle stated,

"It's probably fake" Raven huffed.

"That's what I said too" Raven added,

"Guys" Lorelai murmured, examining something in her hand.

"What?" They all whispered at the same time as they started to draw close to her.

She looked at them with wide eyes, blood visibly leaving her face leaving it pale

"They're real bullets" She said in her soft voice, thrusting out her arm towards them to show them a handful of bullets she had collected,

All looking new and shiny, definitely real,

The other girls went pale-faced in fright,

"Wait, so when they said we would be eliminated, did they mean..." Violetta whispered,

"Killed?" Adelina said, finishing her sentence.

"Yes, they did" Raven affirmed, recovering from the shock faster than the others.

"We've got to get a move on people" Raven said, trying to help them recover from the news.

"Yeah, Raven's right" Ruby agreed,

"I don't feel too good" Violetta whispered as she held her head,

"Oh no you don't, don't go fainting on us Letta" Danielle said as she held her, stabilizing her.

"If you faint here, I'll stab you to death myself Violetta" Raven growled.

That sentence seemed to have done the trick, because Violetta returned to normalcy.

"So what do we do?" Ruby said as she paced around.

"Ruby" Adelina yelled as she reached a dangerous spot.

But it was too late, she was picked up into the air, hanging from a tree by her left leg,

"Please get me down" Ruby sighed.

"A wise person once told me, and I quote ' don't worry, we're too smart to get caught in our traps' " Adelina mimicked in a high pitched voice as Raven walked forward to free her with a knife.

Raven slashed the rope with the knife so Ruby fell on the floor, luckily, on her butt,

"Well, I suggest we wait till the break to re-strategize, plus we need more people in our crew" Danielle stated,

"Five more, since Jacquelynne's already an elite" she added,

"I'm with Danielle, let's just work on saving the skin on our butts first, them we'll regroup later" Adelina said,

"Alright" They all agreed,

Adelina put out her right hand,

The others did the same, placing their hands on top of it,

"We won't get killed, we'll come out of this victorious" Adelina said, lifting their spirits.

"Yes" they all affirmed, nodding their head,

They had been through thick and thin together and they wouldn't stop surviving, even in this bleak and hopeless situation,

The sound of gunshots rang out again,

But it was far away,

"Four girls down" Someone screamed,

Adelina's stomach churned in fear,

"Diane" She whispered as she positioned herself to run towards the sound of gunshots mindlessly,

A blazing fire ignited in her eyes,

Lorelai grabbed her before she could do it, throwing her to the ground, before sitting on her stomach straddling her while pinning her hands against the floor.

Adelina could get very violent when she was being controlled by her emotions.

But she wasn't bulletproof either,

One missile to her head and she was done for.

She started to kick and shake her head frantically.

"I. Need. To. See. If. She's. Okay" Adelina muttered repeatedly.

The girls saw this and took their positions.

Holding her legs and her head down.

"Get over it, Adelina, you can do this" Lorelai whispered.

"Adelina, calm down" Ruby said looking into her eyes,.

Slowly, she did stop fighting back and her body went limp.

Slowly, everyone let go of her and Lorelai got off her.

Adelina sighed, before getting up.

"We'll check up on her after they've left" Raven said.

"Lorelai" Ruby called.

"Yes?" Lorelai answered.

"Please be a darling and climb up to check" Ruby said.

"Okay" Lorelai answered and under thirty seconds, she was at the peak of the tall tree,

"They're heading north east, they've left" Lorelai gasped as she jumped down,

"Lead the way" Danielle ordered.
