When Anna opened her eyes, she found herself in her bedroom.
Eh? Did she come here yesterday by herself? Though she can't remember doing that. As far as she knows, she was chatting with Theodore sitting on the sofa in the living room last night. It can't be called chatting actually. She was just blabbering on her own and Theodore was just listening to them. She didn't even remember what she was blabbering about. Gosh, she didn't tell him any embarrassing story of hers, right? After that maybe she fell asleep though her plan was to wait for Kiera to come back. And now in the morning, she found herself on her bed. Was it Theodore?
Nah… impossible. Maybe she just strolled here in sleep somehow.
Suddenly her eyes fell on the bedside table where her coffee mug was kept filled with hot coffee. She likes to drink hot coffee when she wakes up in the morning. As she was so lazy to make coffee for herself, Kiera always made that for her whenever she came to Anna's.
This means Kiera is here, right?
Anna jumped out of the bed neglecting her coffee and ran towards the chicken. Kiera was wearing an apron. That pink apron with a yellow duck face printed in the middle funnily which Anna bought for her long ago.
OMG! Is she wearing it voluntarily? Though she always nagged about how ugly that apron was and never dared to wear that in her wildest dreams.
She was kinda absentminded, blankly staring at the kitchen stove though there was nothing in the stove. Right now, it didn't look like she cared much about that apron. What happened to her suddenly? Didn't the business go well?
"Hey!" Anna jumped on her back as she screamed to surprise her.
But to her disappointment, Kiera didn't give a scared or surprised look, rather she broke her daze as if she had remembered that Anna was also here and looked at her calmly. What is it with her?
"Hey, why look so gloomy? Did the deal not go well?"
Annabelle was no longer in a fun mood but a bit concerned as she worked day and night for this deal. How can things go wrong when the mighty Kiera Simmons worked so hard for it?
"Ah? No, of course not. It went well. We secured the deal."
Kiera tried to force a smile. She was again back to forth, acting pretty hard in front of Anna.
But Anna wasn't a fool, she knew Kiera too. Moreover, when Anna was the boss here in hiding her emotions from all, no one could deceive her eyes in this department. She does know how people hide their inner feelings. She was surprisingly observant about others; it was kind of obvious that Kiera was lying to her. But she can't just force her to spell everything which she is not willing to do so.
When Kiera is ready, she will eventually talk about it, right? After all, Kiera never forced her to talk about something she doesn't want to, so she should also respect her privacy. She will be waiting for that day when there will be no secrets between them and then she can share all her sorrows with Anna simply without being hesitant or thinking back on the consequences.
"Aigoo… then why be so gloomy? Let's celebrate it!"
Anna wanted to make the environment less gloomy. She started to blabber again on her own as her eyes were searching for someone. Where is he? So, Kiera didn't see him here?
While Anna was thinking she will be saved from Kiera's interrogation, Kiera remembered the exact thing.
"Hey, what was Theo doing here yesterday?"
Shit. She saw him? Why is luck not on her side?
"Eh? Who?" Anna pretended as if she didn't know who Theo was.
Kiera's gloomy expression was long gone and now she was staring at Anna so intensely that it felt like she could read her soul.
"What's going on Anna? What was he doing here at midnight?"
Kiera squinted her eyes as she looked at Annabelle. Annabelle never lets anyone crash into her home since she debuted in the music industry. She was always like that. She kept all the relations at the workplace as professional and never allowed those relationships to pry into her personal space. Maybe for this reason, despite being in a huge world of youngsters, she never committed to having an intimate relationship with any of her colleagues or seniors.
Anna was silent for a moment. Kiera's nagging mode activated again, which she fears the most. But she worries about her, it was quite legit to ask about something unusual. Though Kiera said she won't be her manager anymore, she is still handling all her work despite being busy with her own work. So, of course, it wasn't something done out of concern.
"Umm… he was just waiting for you to come. I made him dinner and all so…." Anna scratched her shoulder, avoiding Kiera's piercing gaze. She really can't find any good excuse in this short time, so better be the truth.
"But it didn't look like he was just waiting for me. When I came, I saw him lovingly carrying you to…."
"Stop! Stop!"
Before she could finish her sentence, Anna pressed her mouth shut with her hands. Urgh… this is embarrassing! Why on earth does he have to show this kind of activity in front of his cousin throwing her in this situation?
Kiera removed her hands from her mouth with brows twitched. What is going on? She was teasing her until now, but this behavior of Anna made her suspicious.
"Hey, did something happen when I was away from here?" Now curiosity is hitting her hard.
"Ehh? Nah... What could happen? I am just tired of running errands for him. Thank God, you came back. I am just so relieved."
Though she planned to scold Kiera and teach her a lesson for making her do all jobs for Theodore, all her plan was ruined since Kiera witnessed such a PDA act all of a sudden out of nowhere. Gosh, what if she thinks that Anna was flirting with her cousin in her absence. And why the heck does that guy have to carry her in his arms in front of Kiera?
Little did Anna know that Kiera wasn't worried about her flirting with her cousin. She was more worried about something else. There are so many tensions already pressurizing her, now this added too.
"So… how did your days go without me?" Kiera tried to smile a bit.
"Without you, you say? I mean you did you live your whole life with such a nagging little cousin of yours? He is just a carbon copy of yours, then again if I think thoroughly, you are nothing like him. You are much better and tolerable if you want my opinion." Anna finished in a haughty mood.
"Hey… you are just talking round and round, make it more human-like, ok? And point to be noted, he is not my little brother. He is 1 day older than me and so 2 years 3 months 1 day older than you too." Kiera replied, chuckling.
She was feeling quite better than a few minutes ago. Anna never fails to cheer her up. She should think about being a comedian, really; or else her expressions gonna make Kiera dead alone by laughing too much.
"Ehhhhhhhhh….? What… what did you say?" Anna looked like someone threw a bucket of cold water on her. She was tolerating him thinking he was younger than her though he didn't look like so. But still, she never imagined she would be fooled like this. How can someone be this clueless?
Kiera started to laugh out loud at this priceless expression of hers.
"In which angle did he look younger than you, huh?"
"No, I just…."
She was speechless. What is even left there to say for her foolishness? Sigh, she has to improve her observation skills more. Her daze broke when Kiera called her out.
"Hey, Anna."
"Uh-huh?"
"I called the publisher this morning. He said everything went well and perfectly."
"It did," Anna replied innocently.
"So… how are you feeling?" taking her hands into her, Kiera asked her with the eyes full of concern in them.
Anna didn't reply in an instance. She stared at Kiera's hand which was holding her gently with a lot of thoughts in her. She was okay, perfectly fine; though she thought otherwise a few days ago. She was sad thinking how she made Kiera worry for her. Not just Kiera, all the people who are close to her were gifted with one kind of permanent anxiety of hers though she never thanked them properly or stayed by their side on their anxieties. She was selfish, knowingly or unknowingly, it was the truth. If she could be a bit better than now, these important people of her life wouldn't be so anxious and worried sick.
"I am good, better than I thought I would be. Stop worrying about me that much. I am perfectly fine!" Anna assured her as far as she could by making her voice more assertive. After all, it's her time to grow up.
These days, I was thinking deeply about something...
Thinking about a lot of things
I kept thinking, kept thinking... ~_~
And now, I realized I turned gray and forgot what I was actually thinking about :)!
Wow, I mean I am amazing, right? >-<
