Finding the exit, David saw that his surrounding magically changed. It went from a small dark enclosed cave into a large cave, filled with crystals being reflected by the 'sunlight'.

'That's...not right? Although this must be part of the tutorial, the outside shouldn't be this close...at least from some of the novels I read doesn't do that...' David thought and was immediately on his guard.

Although he couldn't see it, his tail was already moving without his instruction, striking something behind a rock.

Instead of feeling something rough like the ground, he instead felt something...cold, yet increasingly hot?

"Screech!"

Covering his ears, David jumped away from the rock behind him and extended his claws, ready to fight.

A red lizard popped out of the rock, melting it quite quickly. The lizard had small spikes on its back, spanning down the middle all the way to its tail. It had an overall red and orange color, and was actually quite big, seemingly almost 2 feet long. Its face had some sort of wing-like feature, spreading out before it opened its mouth, spraying a red substance that shined red and orange, which slowly released steam as it hit the ground.

'Intimidation tactic?' David looked at the slowly eroding space as the lizard seems to be trying to stay back, yet also doesn't want to give up.

"[Apprasial], just the weak points..." David said.

'Fair enough, first test of the day...' David extended the claws for his left hand before rushing the lizard.

Before the lizard could react, its limbs were already cut off. Looking up, it saw David's scrunched up face as the blood began to spray from its remaining stubs of limbs.

Opening its mouth, it was ready to screech and call for help, but its head had already fallen off of its body, making the lizard limp.

"Ohh! I suppose this could be a mini cheat by itself...for those that don't have the system, I would be known as a genius...right?" he muttered to himself, as he at least knew that no everyone could gain a multiplier to experience after all.

Looking at his claws filled with blood and flesh, David cringed before shaking it off.

'Might not be germaphobic, but damn, that's bad...' David cringed at the aftermath of his first battle.

"...grumble...Hgnn...wha-oh...monster genes. I did reincarnate...need to get used to that." David clutched his stomach as he swallowed his saliva, staring at the dead lizard body.

"Now I see why monsters rush at the site of some free food..." Instead of leaving the body in an enclosed space where its scent would be stronger, attracting more monsters, David quickly placed the body (and severed parts) into his inventory.

By the time he placed everything into his inventory, he saw a whole pack of lava lizards in front of him.

Due to the fact that he was also part beast, he could feel the rage from their eyes, and literally too, as the area was arming up as well.

"Shit! They're gonna burn the entire place down...kuh..." David coughed, as he could already start to feel the disappearance of oxygen.

Using his [Transformation], he enlarged his tail before quickly sweeping them off their feet.

Before they could even get up, David ran up to them and started to stab their chests as most of them were still upside down.

"Screech! Screech! Screech!" they repeatedly screeched in pain, some dying instantly.

Taking out a decent number of them, David quickly throws them into his inventory before swiping his tail again at a lava lizard who was pouncing at him.

David scrunched up his face before using his claws to stab the last lava lizard and storing it in his inventory before falling to his knees.

"...hah...hah...hah...That was...insane! So this is what those main characters have to go through, at the very least..." David placed his hands on his forehead, slightly sweaty. His eyes are wide, slightly blinded by his own bangs.

Panting, David slowly calmed down after seeing the notification, as it automatically heals him completely. Due to the low mental energy, he didn't even flinch at the pain of something forcefully entering him.

'Ow...[Bare-Handed Claw Technique]? That's new..." David stared at his claws, and for some reason, he could still feel a slight burning pain on his limbs and claws before it subsided and he could suddenly remember the fight he just had and clicked his tongue.

'Amateurish...wasteful movements, hesitation, fear, so many mistakes!' he scolded himself.

Looking around him now, there seemed to be a large number of monsters around him. Because he was able to kill them quickly and escape to his 'territory', they didn't notice him as the monsters there didn't have strong scent picking abilities.

Looking at his own hands calmly, he retracted his claws and clenched his fists.

Only two thoughts came to mind seeing all of those monsters that were potentially so strong they could have sneezed him to death.

'Power...survival...' David had already started to notice his mentality changing, but due to the environment he was in, he knew that this was the best course of thought as he couldn't just treat this as a game and expect to revive after he died.

It was also due to part of his monster's ability to be able to adapt so that he could change his mentality easier.

Seeing that he had 20 attribute points, as he still didn't have enough time to fully control and use his magic abilities with great mastery, he placed 4 in agility, 5 in strength, 5 in dexterity, 4 in defense before placing the last 2 points in vitality.

'With this, I can last a bit longer...' he looked at his attributes increasing and endured the pain of forcefully making his body stronger in one go.

After a few moments of slightly whimpering in pain, he felt his entire body become stronger.

Taking a few deep breaths, David stood up and walked out of his 'territory', ready to begin his "Grinding" session.
