Chapter 15; The Celebration
A week had passed without any contact from Ethan since the disturbing incident in the middle of the night. I didn't know whether to be relieved or profoundly sad. It weighed heavily on my heart.
I picked up my phone and started typing a message to him, "Ethan, how are you?" But I quickly deleted it. I chuckled bitterly, realizing that I was the one pushing him away, yet here I was, yearning for him to reach out.
I fiddled with my phone, knowing that Ethan had no social media presence. Still, I held onto a glimmer of hope that I might find him. I tried searching for Ethan Gray's name first, but it led to someone else.
Then, I searched for Benjamin Clark, but it was a different person again. I let out a sigh. It was probably time for me to move on from Ethan/Benjamin or whatever my ex's real name is. He seemed to have many secrets, and he was shrouded in mystery.
